As-Salaam-Alaikum everyone, like many others I've been lurking for a few months. I have finally decided to make a profile in order to engage in the topics that are discussed here. I will try my best to restrain from giving my opinions because I am not qualified to speak on the subject of Islam. Instead, I am mostly here to ask questions and hope to find answers.
I am, however, grateful to have found this site. I recently lost my father and words cannot describe the pain. His passing led me to look harder and search for answers. In my search I came across Free-Minds. I can say that since I have found this site, my mind has been somewhat satisfied.
I thank those who do hard work for the layman in search of truth and everyone else who contributes/supports the search for the truth. Insh'Allah you will see me more often!

Welcome I'm glad to meet you.
I am not a Quranist, but I think it's fair to say that out of all the users on this discussion board, I am doing the greatest effort to represent the viewpoint of the orthodox Sunni Muslims and debating with anti-Sunnis.
I hope that you will also consider my answers to some of your questions, which may even radically differ from the Qur'anist viewpoint.
May I ask what is your understanding of Islam or what tendency you are leaning toward?

My understanding of Islam wouldn't fit in just one post, but I will summarize it the best I can. I wouldn't call myself a Qur'anist because I do agree with much of the Qur'anist viewpoint, but I also found many things I do not agree with. As for Sunni Islam, after initially disagreeing with most of it due to the opinions and points given on this site, I am slowly learning that there is indeed some truth to many Hadiths (and Sunni reasoning based on these Hadiths).
Quite simply, it is the mixture of culture and religion I disagree with. I will absolutely consider your answers (I'd be ignorant to dismiss differing viewpoints without consideration)!
