Reza Aslan on quranism
-
In his introduction to islam "No God but God" Reza Aslan mentions quranism in a positive light. the following quote is from the final chapter "Welcome to the Islamic reformation"
"Indeed, one of the fastest growing and most dynamic movements in islam today is being led by an international community of Muslims, called quranists, who reject all sources of authority in islam - the Hadith, the sunnah, the shariah - save for the quran."
He even compares this to the sola scriptura of Martin Luther.

Indeed, Qurnism is not a sect but a progressive movement characterized by the recognition of the Qurn as the only authentic source of Islamic faith, and thus the only supreme legal authority in Islamic Law and Theology.
Ps a Qurnist's (main) tools are two, Reason and Linguistics.
