Praying inside a mosque where they have Muhammad's name on the wall...
-
Salaam, I am a new Muslim. I used to belong to the Sunni cult before. Questioning every aspect of my beliefs and rituals made me seek Allah's guidance. I thank Allah for guiding me.
What is your take on this issue? Do you pray in such mosques or do you avoid them because Allah wants us to pray in mosques where only Allah is glorified?

Salaam,
The last time I visited a mosque was around 2009, so I don't have a good experience on the variety of mosques. Your intention depends on practicing prayers regardless of location you are in because finding the mosque without Muhammed's name on the wall is not easy after all, especially in Sunni dominated areas. I think it's okay to pray in these mosques unless your mind on Allah get distracted by Muhammed's name. If you already find the nearby mosque with only His name on the wall, then going there is recommended. Again, it depends on your intentions. -
Peace mike789.
I also observe my salat in solitude. I have no choice . I have not found a place where GOD Alone is served in Manchester England, yet?.
I am mindful of the following
9107
There are those who abuse the masjid by practicing idol worship, dividing the believers, and providing comfort to those who oppose God and His messenger. They solemnly swear "Our intentions are honorable!" God bears witness that they are liars.9108
You shall never pray in such a masjid. A masjid that is established on the basis of righteousness from the first day is more worthy of your praying therein. In it, there are people who love to be purified. God loves those who purify themselves.9109
Is one who establishes his building on the basis of reverencing God and to gain His approval better, or one who establishes his building on the brink of a crumbling cliff, that falls down with him into the fire of Hell? God does not guide the transgressing people.9110
Such a building that they have established remains a source of doubt in their hearts, until their hearts are stilled. God is Omniscient, Most Wise. You alone will need to come to your conclusion about what Qoran is instructing you to do?
May the Lord guide you and bless you.
Peace. -
I pray in temples even if they belong to sectarian people. The aura is not physically on the building but in its inhabitants. If you are there in your right mind then it is a step forward.
Have faith
Salaam

Normally, I pray in my own room at home. When I am travelling and don't have my own room, I might go to a mosque but then avoid the official prayer times so that I can do my own prayer without getting into conflict with either my own conscience or the other people around me. Or I pray in nature, what is actually my favourite.

I connect with God when I'm alone at night or in the morning at home in my own habitat. I couldn't stand ever going to a mosque, I wouldn't be allowed in anyway. Only place I might feel comfortable with others is a Unitarian church which I'm still not fussed about and haven't been to anyway...

Mike,
what do you mean you are a new muslim? you mean you converted? or your beliefs suddenly changed? -
I don't think it is a big deal, though I've never seen such a thing, if they are worshiping or glorifying Muhammed, it is on them, you can worship there in my opinion as long as you are worshiping the Ultimate only, it is between you and Allah, but if you find your worship somehow disturbed, then pray where you are peaceful and undisturbed or feel safe and secure. If you feel that it is somehow evil what you are doing, then do not do it.
This is my made up fatwa, do with it whatever you think is most excellent!
If you would like to learn more about Islam or discuss things with me or even to learn about comparative religion, my email is [email protected] and you or anyone else can email me to talk to me about stuff.

If you will be harassed for not wearing a hijab, why not wear a hijab to attend? I also don't like their rules always, but if they have some silly idea, I'm willing to compromise in their presence in some things. If I by chance could easily fit in for a prayer, I think there is no harm in attending and worshiping and following their little rules for that time and then dispersing.
A Mosque in my opinion is far better than an active Church (I mean the basic Christian types that might utter blasphemies).
In my opinion, there is no harm going to a Mosque and following their silly rules and worshiping also at home whenever one wants. Just like one going to a certain type of restaurant might be arbitrarily required by the restaurant to wear formal attire, I wouldn't make a big ruckus about it if I wanted to visit, I would just wear the formal attire and follow the etiquette rules for that experience.

Mike,
what do you mean you are a new muslim? you mean you converted? or your beliefs suddenly changed?I was born into a Sunni family and practised Sunnism all my life until a month ago. All my family is Sunni except my wife who also became a true monotheist along with me. I questioned every aspect of my beliefs and a lot of it did not make sense. Specially the part that Muhammad did not know the future according to Quran. But, he has so many prophecies regarding Dajjal, Jesus, Mahdi etc in the hadiths.
