For some time I was willing to write on this topic, because this is s particularly rampant problem in this very Forum!

?From my childhood I thought rice is our food and we control rice for our need. But recently after I watched a TV program I suddenly realized ? that simply is not the case. We humans have been duped to think like that by this seemingly harmless plants. Over the world 2bn+ people work day in day out to produce rice, to facilitate their growth to ensure their species are taken care of. So indeed it is the rice and other plans like those who are really controlling this world. Every war, famine, or tragedy that we have are somehow caused by these plants so that we humans do not progress too far to become so smart that we no longer need the plants. Otherwise how do you explain that in every scene of crime we find some criminals who eat rice and other plants in one way or other!?

What you read above is a silly conspiracy theory meant for fun. But conspiracy theories do not remain such ?silly and funny? when those are designed and propagated against people. They become a sinister tool for fueling sectarian attitude, narrow mindedness and hatred towards others. But since juicy conspiracy theories have the charm of being ?mysterious? and at the same time feeds the narrowness held deeply in our soul ? they are extremely popular throughout the world!

Take for example India and Pakistan. Most Indians love to believe that every act of terrorism that happens in Indian soil and every unsolved mysterious murder is a work of Pakistan Secret Service (ISI). On the other hand most Pakistanis love to believe that every act of terrorism that happens in Pakistan soil and every unsolved mysterious murder is a work of Indian Secret Service (RAW). Just to give you how silly these theories can be some even like to blame the recent Taliban attack to Peshwar school upon RAW!

Many religious people love to fantasize about a secret anti-religion force named ?Illuminati? who are now ruling the world by the name of ?Free Masons? and they consider this to be the root of all evil in the world. Many irreligious people love to fantasize that religion itself is a deep conspiracy against humanity and they consider this to be the root of all evil in the world.

Many of the Jews / Israelis and their Patrons in the West find the ?Muslims? to be the catalyst of every act of terrorism everywhere around the world. And as soon as there is an act of subversive activity they start looking for Jihadi linkage to it. On the other hand, many of the ?Muslims? (from both traditional and reformist camp) find the ?Jews / Israelis and their Patrons in the West? to be the catalyst of every act of terrorism everywhere around the world. And as soon as there is an act of subversive activity they start looking for Zionist linkage to it.

Within the broader ?Muslim? camp the people who do not like rituals like to float conspiracy theories on when and how salaat rituals etc. were invented and the Muslim population world-wide were brain washed to believe in them. On the other hand the people who believe rituals to be the be-all and end-all of Islam like to float conspiracy theories on when and how western atheists and Christians conspired to create online revolution in the name of Quranism to debunk everything that is ?Islam?.

Having Faith in Allah ? the Master of universe is all about understanding that everything comes from Allah. There is no mysterious superpower that is controlling the affairs of the world. Allah is in absolute control everywhere all the time. Faith in Allah requires us to step out of the narrow mindedness of our self or race or nationality or religion (millat) and see the world from an open, tolerant, objective perspective. Qur?an says ?Allah captures every vision? so to see Allah?s perspective we need to look at the world from everyone?s perspective. ?Conspiracy theories? do just the opposite. They help us to reconfirm our narrow perspective and add fuel to our envy and hatred of others. Thus I am convinced conspiracy theories are devil?s favorite pastime.

Those who are the father of flame (abu lahab) of envy and hatred, and those who carry the firewoods (hamma latal hatab), soon they will burn in the very fire they light up and soon their necks will get caught in their own twisted rope (hablum mim masad).

May Allah guide us all to the straight route.

    Regards,
    Arman

Well, your reasoning is clearly an excuse to stay within the delusion at least. Otherwise you can see everyone's "conspiracy theory" as an intuitive feeling that something is wrong. People have conspiracy theories concerning USA's activities too but that is because the government seems hard to trust at times (with some right of course).

And people love do indulge in vain talk, but that includes the delusions produced within the scope of religion too.

The ritual salateh grow forth not from Islam but it is originally from Paganism and the ways to please gods separate from the proper guidance of Allah. It is ignorant to say that the Zoroastrianists or Jews were originators of this practice. And prostration is an ancient custom in the Middle-East not necessarily to be associated with religion. Obviously is was adopted in religious contexts. Prostration is a heartwarming thought concerning God, but there is no such ritual which ever was propagated by Allah, and it is incorrect factually to prostrate to the phenomenon of Allah since it should not be attributed to any image at all. When you prostrate just about anywhere in any direction you automatically make an image out of Allah even if it is abstract.

Just in case you didn't realize passport data for all air passangers are now a days stored in computers ... so investigations on identity of the passengers does not really depend on finding passports surviving plane crash.

And even if someone found a passport he only found a piece of paper, not the Arc of Covenant!

Are those people who invented the rituals same group of conspirators who defined "LA" as "No" and QaTaLa as "kill", or a different group?

I am not a time machine you know, Arman. But I can clearly see the errors in the language after massive unbiased studies myself.

Rituals are a curse never been abandoned from the visualization of Allah that it is an entity for worship rather than a spiritual assimilation. The sects spreading the disinformation have been active for millennia and it is hardly those who went under the Islam label that begun with it but that you can thank the so-called Pharisees in the Biblical Gospels, for example. It did hardly begin then but it was also during Moses and before that and after that, that you can and should materialize and visualize Allah and worship like a Pagan god. It is due to ignorance and likely the foul inspiration of Satan.

You may show thanks to Allah, the Rabb, but it should be through the things that you do in that spirit.

You may blame leaders, scholars and clerics, but there may also have been some good ones.

              Salaam

And perhaps the "conspiracy theories" are true and the officially accepted one is the real conspiracy theory. You should not judge too quickly you know.

                  Salam.

Dictionary definition of "Conspiracy Thory" is

a theory that explains an event or set of circumstances as the result of a secret plot by usually powerful conspirators

                  Source "Conspiracy Theory." Merriam-Webster.com. Merriam-Webster, n.d. Web. 26 Jan. 2015. <http//www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/conspiracy theory>.

                  Wikipedia elaborates further

A conspiracy theory is an explanatory proposition that accuses two or more persons, a group, or an organization of having caused or covered up, through secret planning and deliberate action, an illegal or harmful event or situation.

Some scholars suggest that people formulate conspiracy theories to explain, for example, power relations in social groups and the perceived existence of evil forces. It has been suggested by some thinkers that conspiracy theories have chiefly psychological or socio-political origins. Proposed psychological origins include projection; the personal need to explain ?a significant event a significant cause;" and the product of various kinds and stages of thought disorder, such as paranoid disposition, ranging in severity to diagnosable mental illnesses. Some people prefer socio-political explanations over the insecurity of encountering random, unpredictable, or otherwise inexplicable events.

The effects of a world view that places conspiracy theories centrally in the unfolding of history have been debated, with some saying that it has become ?the dominant paradigm of political action in the public mind." Although the term "conspiracy theory" has acquired a derogatory meaning over time and is often used to dismiss or ridicule beliefs in conspiracies, it has also continued to be used by some to refer to actual, proven conspiracies, such as U.S. President Richard Nixon and his aides conspiring to cover up Watergate.

In my initial post of the thread I am talking about conspiracy theory based on unfound, baseless conjecture, rather than actual, proven conspiracies. If someone is taking my post as an attack, most likely they have the understanding deep inside them that their theories are baseless conjectures rather than actual, proven conspiracies.

One of the very clear teachings of Qur'an is that we should not blame others based on unfound allegations. "Conspiracy Theories" often go against the spirit of that teaching as well.

May Allah guide us all to the straight route.

                  Arman

Indeed, too much of a muchness.
The 11 s explanation given by the more or less oficial version and mainstream is a real compendium of elementary nonsense. That many people defying their own belief in elementary physics swallow it defies the gullibility of the staunchest blindbeliever.

If we are told 1 million times that pigs fly, we will uphold that truth and burn at the stake those who deny it. Authority is authority, and authorities do not lie. Only bad boys lie.

I am not generally blaming anyone in particular for corruption of the interpretation of Quran. It is just that it has happened nevertheless.

And I know exactly what a conspiracy theory is so you do not have to lecture me, but thanks anyway.

And as I continue to sniff further I will likely find the evidence you are looking for, but you will likely not accept it anyway because you have that prejudicial doubt and commit the fallacy of following the majority. I know there is an academic term for that too if you like to paste it for me.

And to be honest, my friend. Regarding salateh I actually have backup from lexicons. has an alternative meaning as to follow. And I know that the salateh you hear talked about in Quran does imply that it speaks of your ways and not any connection, prayer or ritual. The prophet (Lut I think) in the narration instructs his children towards salateh, and that did not mean he instructed them towards a ritual but in fact he gave them the ways of being as a person. Aquyum assalateh means that. And you are also not supposed to read the word salat but salateh. This letter exists in Hebrew too and is named teh and is a grammatical variation of (heh).

What any other kind of evidence are you looking for, the text and I explain ourselves without any source, and if you still insist then I refer you to the root which suggests the same. The alternative meanings are just a hoax.

Realize my friend, you are biased. You buy any commonly accepted dictionary definition and then trust it is accurate despite that you likely know from which era the definitions stem from. Were not so-called hadith of Muhammad compiled during a similar time frame? It is like you are one of those who think certain things are not an American (actually Jewish/capitalistic) plot in our contemporary time. Wake up. And I do not mean this as sarcasm or evil thoughts.

                          Salaam

                            Salamun Alaikum.

Those who cook up imaginary conspiracy theories in their arm-chair and confuse others with those ? may be taking a convenient retreat from reality; but make no mistake - they are accountable for spreading misinformation and envy.

4112 But whoever earns a mistake or a sin (and) later shoots it upon an unassociated one - then surely he bears an acquisition and a clear sin.

(My personal translation, cross checking is recommended.)

Conspiracy theories based on unfounded allegations never help bridge minds between nations, between religions and between conservative and reformists. When conspiracy theorists vomit their hatred in web-based forums like this or raise storms in drawing room gossip, or publish in tabloids which are not professionally edited ? their intension is never to take their theory to the authorities or to the mainstream press so that the truth can be revealed in due process. They know very well their theories will never withstand objective methodical scrutiny. Their success is in creating mistrust and separation - that is all they try to achieve and that's all they do achieve. And mistake it not as a new phenomenon, their legacy is an old one

7117 And We inspired to Moses saying, ?Throw your staff?. And at once it swallowed whatever they were deluding.

7118 So the truth was duly (established) and whatever they happened to be doing became futile.

7119 So they were defeated at that time and they turned back humbled.

7120 And the illusionists threw (themselves) prostrating.

7121 They said, ?We have faith in the Master of the universe.?

7122 ?Master of Moses and Aaron.?

7123 Pharaoh said, ?You put faith in him before that I gave authorization to you ? indeed this must be a plan which you have planned in the city so that you may drive its people from it. Then soon you will know.?

7124 ?I must cut-off your hands and feet in opposition (and) later I must crucify you all together.?

7125 They said, ?Indeed, we are to return to our Master.?

(My personal translation, emphasis added, cross checking is recommended.)

May Allah guide us all to the straight route.

                                Peace Novice.

Worship/service to GOD is a complicated act as it involves certain deep emotions of extreme honor, regard, passion, adoration, trust, devotion, remembrance and reverence.

Should we not value GOD as He(no gender )should be valued?

Worship is often mentioned distinctively, as an addition to our religious practices and/or our acts of righteousness. The following verses make it clear
"I am God; there is no other god beside Me. You shall serve/worship Me alone, and observe the Salat to remember Me.

O you who believe, you shall bow, prostrate, worship /serve.your Lord, and work righteousness, that you may succeed

They steadfastly persevere in seeking their Lord, observe the Salat, spend from our provisions to them secretly and publicly, and counter evil with good. These have deserved the best abode.

O you who believe, you shall reverence God and seek the ways and means to Him, and strive in His cause, that you may succeed.

The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them; you shall worship/serve Him and steadfastly persevere in worshiping Him. Do you know of anyone who equals Him?

Yet, some people set up idols to rival God, and love them as if they are God. Those who believe love God the most.....

There is no image being created. The Almighty is beyond images!!!!!

We thus understand that when we are in true love with God, we devote our life and death to Him and we become obsessed with regarding His commands, observing His rites and honoring His ethics.
We value His attributes. We become preoccupied with seeking His pleasure and approval.
We compete in serving Him. We remember Him out of passion, adoration and reverence.
We meditate and praise Him in awe of Him. We love what He loves and abhor what He abhors.
We appreciate His words and this is why we take them seriously.

                                GOD bless you.
                                Peace.

It is said that when you do ritual prayer feel as if you are standing in front of Allah...this indeed create an image out of Allah even though it is abstract and indeed there is nothing like Him.

                                  Salamun alaikum.

The Jews believe that if you write ?God? it could lead to blasphemy because you?d be creating image of God. So they write ?G-d?. But does it really help not creating an image?

When we say, You are the One we are slave to, You are the one we seek help from? aren?t we already creating an abstract ?image/personification? of God by calling Him in 2nd Person singular? Many Budhdhists will object to that!

When we help the poor ?seeking the face of Allah?, are we creating an image of God?

The essence of not creating an image of God does not stop us from writing the word ?God? or to address God as ?You? or sensing the presence of God?s spirit in others or physically prostrating to God. Creating an image / symbol of God for reference is not a sin - it is part and parcel of all forms of communication by humans, RATHER, creating an image / symbol of God is sinful when the image becomes more important than our devotion and obedience to God, when the image / symbol becomes more sacred than righteousness itself.

Allah has created us in Body and Soul. When we are devoted to our Master we show our devotion with both body and soul ? not because we like to see the image of God, but because we offer both our body and soul to our Master.

If someone is confident that one can purify his soul without offering his body ? one is welcome to try that. If they can be righteous Our Master will not wrong them by a hair?s breadth. But inventing misleading ?theories? about Allah and vilifying the sincerity of God?s obedient servant would count as a clear sin.

449 Did you not see about those who purify their souls? No! Allah purifies whomever He wills and they will not be wronged (by) a hair?s breadth .

450 Watch how they invent the lie about Allah ? and it suffices as a clear sin.

(My personal translation, cross checking is recommended.)

May Allah guide us all to the straight route.

                                  Regards,
                                  Arman

                                    Peace Good Logic
Thanks for your detailed post. I am not challenging your understanding but explaining mine on some issues mentioned in your post.

Worship/service to GOD is a complicated act as it involves certain deep emotions of extreme honor, regard, passion, adoration, trust, devotion, remembrance and reverence.

You have used worship/service together. For me these are two different things. One serves GOD by following his commands to do good and others worship HIM with rituals.

Should we not value GOD as He(no gender )should be valued?

How do we value GOD..By obeying his commands for doing good or by practicing rituals?

Worship is often mentioned distinctively, as an addition to our religious practices and/or our acts of righteousness. The following verses make it clear
"I am God; there is no other god beside Me. You shall serve/worship Me alone, and observe the Salat to remember Me.

What is Salat? A perpetual discussion going on here and everywhere. If we can differentiate between worshipping and serving that's where what Man of Faith wrote makes sense.

O you who believe, you shall bow, prostrate, worship /serve. your Lord, and work righteousness, that you may succeed.

Again it is the meanings of Rakus and sajood that make individual understanding different. There are people who interpret them as obedience.

O you who believe, you shall reverence God and seek the ways and means to Him, and strive in His cause, that you may succeed.

Taqwa is reverence for you but for others it is watching Divine Commands.

Yet, some people set up idols to rival God, and love them as if they are God. Those who believe love God the most.....

Again for some loving GOD means obeying His commands.

There is no image being created. The Almighty is beyond images!!!!!

Just check with ordinary people and they will explain you what they imagine during their ritual prayers.

True but red part is different for everyone as per their understanding. What are GOD's rites? He commands us to give zaka to society as well as to our Nafs. Those who follow rites, are satisfied that they have done good but for others zaka is obtained through doing good to others.

So Goodlogic it depends what you get from Quran as guidance because guidance is not same for everyone. If you are satisfied that following rituals is the command then please do follow them and make yourself satisfied. For me message of Quran is to do good deeds to give zaka to society and our nafs, loving GOD means to follow His commands to do good sincerely, remembering GOD is to feel His presence around me and recalling and following His commands. That's of course my understanding and I would never ask others to follow me. I believe everyone is responsible for ones actions. We have discussions and study others work to know what others understand but we must use our GOD gifted faculties to evaluate and understand and then follow the best.

                                    God bless you.
                                    Peace.

What is this opposition between serving nd worshipping? What is the original Arabic word which is being translated with those words.

Why should God want to be served? In what? He does not need absolutely anything from anybody or anything? He does have anything He wants. If God orders us anything it is not for Him but for us. We need, He does not. We cannot serve God, because He does not need anything. We do need.

Again, which word is being translated as those two things? That is the question.

                                      Salaam

                                        Huruf, others,

Abd means neither worship nor serve but it means to be on merged condition with. To do works in the spirit assimilation with Allah is this misunderstood word.

Allah has obviously no need for neither of them that people ascribe worship and service to mean. The test is a spiritual check what we go for basically and not because Allah needs to be served as a separate entity.

Since Allah is not concrete and taking any real space anywhere, humans fill this empty void, if they get filled with spirit. Those others who do not are left out in what is usually referred to as Hell. So the purpose is to absorb the consciousness of Allah. This message is hard for people unable to comprehend such an abstract reasoning and why most people fail to not see the essence of why they are here.

                                        Salaam

                                          Good logic,

It does not matter if you say or think you have no image when you do a ritual, particularly a prostration, because Allah has already become an image of worship abstractly.
