I have been following the traditional scholars such as Bilal Philips, Hamza Yusuf, Sheikh Feiz Muhammad, AR Green, Abu Usamah Ath-thahabi, Mufti Menk, Abdullah Faisal and Anjem Choudary.... All these have same ideologies of the past. I want to change for some thing new. Can you suggest a list of books to read and scholars to follow? I have tried Edip Yuksel but he is very extreme in his anti hadith position. I also followed Hamza Abdul malik but he seems to know less. I started to follow Sheikh Atabek. Suggest me please. Thank you.

Note Not all scholars I listed here call themselves 'Quran Alone' or 'Quranist', but they are critical about Hadiths.
-Kassim Ahmed (He wrote about the history of hadiths)

      • Reza Aslan ( He also studied other religions)
-Khaled Abou El Fadl (based on the summary and preview of his books, they are really good)
-Asma Barles (her works are more focused on women's rights in Islam)
      • Akbar S. Ahmed ( If your are interested in modern politics)
There are more interesting books here

      I hope you'll like them.

It is not scholar to follow.
Just use their thinking as your reference.

Sorry for the mistype, the red one is *If you are

Also keep in mind that if you don't agree with every single thing a scholar says, that's okay. It's better to read in different perspectives of them and the Qu'ran to think your belief by yourself.

            Salaam,

Do not follow any human being. Try to take direct guidance from yours and my Lord, AlRahmaan . He is the best guide as no one else. Study alQuraan/alKitaab at your own pace and seek help to understand it from Allah and DO NOT rush but wait until Allah clarifies things for you 10109.

That is what I have to suggest.

May Allah increase our knowledge and guide us on His path pr

              Peace Mussabahire.

Just study Qoran and see what s in it?

Where is the good logic in following anyone, follow your own instinct. Read and take what is best.

I would not advise you to even follow "good logic".

              Good luck with your journey.
              GOD bless you.
              Peace.

                Here's another one

                Prof. Dr. Yasar Nuri Ozturk

                en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yaar_Nuri_?zt?rk

He's not too keen on hadiths himself either; basically saying that most hadiths, if not all, are fabricated and therefore should be filtered through the Qur'an. He's also an advocate of secularism, seeing no conflict between religion and secularism. The important part is that he bases almost all his ideas on historical Islamic records, books and discourse. Showing that most of what might be considered reformist philosophy today did in fact exist in the annals of Islamic scholastic history.

It is not scholars that you ought to follow. Gain knowledge and seek guidance from Allah.

How is Edip Yuksel extreme in his anti-Hadith stand? Unless you realize how degree of corruption that crept into Islam via Hadith, you can't understand why Edip is so vocal about his anti-Hadith stand.

It is okay to follow the knowledge of a scholar if that is an enlightened one. The goal to achieve is an abstract one and there are many roads one can take even if they should accomplish the same, i.e. . For those who do not understand that Arabic it means to be fully realized in Allah by soundness of soul (&#1605, and if one wants to do that they need the affinity of the Rabb. It means treading in the image of Allah rather than meaningless separation and glorification of the same. Then they belong with Allah, their Rabb (lit. Foundation).

One should call upon the Rabb as personal address and not Allah. Allah is only called upon by that once in Quran and then by people without understanding. You will not find any righteous person in Quran who does not call upon their Sustainer except by saying (ya Rabb). You will never see them say for that is not a personal address of the Rabb but the address of the realm of God, for those who choose to belong to it. It is also why "We" (first person singular) is often used in the narration.

                          Salaam

Forgot to say that a prophet is a scholar as well. There is just a difference in what different scholars are teaching. Nonsense/conjecture or enlightening knowledge.
