The Quran claims that you should ask Allah for forgiveness of sins.

Yet at the same time, the Quran endorses asking Muhammad to ask Allah on your behalf for forgiveness. This is not monotheism but polytheism.

Quran, 464 We sent not a messenger, but to be obeyed, in accordance with the will of Allah. If they had only, when they were unjust to themselves, COME UNTO THEE AND ASKED ALLAH'S FORGIVENESS, and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah indeed Oft-returning, Most Merciful.

    Conclusion of this verse

    1. Ask Muhammad to ask Allah for forgiveness.

    2. Muhammad asks forgiveness for you.

    3. Now Allah will forgive you.

This is clear cut polytheism, I can't just ask Allah directly, I have to involve Muhammad in the picture.

I don't doubt the sincerity of Quran alone Muslims, however this verse has serious theological and doctrinal problems.

      Peace Nonmushrik.

Look at the verse again, you have serious misunderstanding of what it is saying.

This is the verse you are quoting." What do they have to do first?" I am going to highlight it for you so you can see that they seek GOD - Allah" directly !!!!

" What do they have to do first?" I have highlighted it for you so you can see that they seek GOD - Allah- directly" !!!!

End of conversation about polytheism as far as Qoran is concerned.

      GOD bless you.
      peace.

        Hi good logic,

"Come unto thee" is before "asked Allah's forgiveness" in the verse.

Following what you highlighted, it says "and the messenger had asked forgiveness FOR THEM"

When they asked him to ask Allah, he did it for them.

          Peace Nonmushrik.

No, the verse says if they have come to you and asked GOD directly to forgive them and you have also asked GOD to forgive them ( this is to confirm you are trusting that they mean it and they want to reform and correct ).

The asking has to be done directly by them first.

There is absolutely no issue here about intercession or polytheism in the verse.

          GOD bless you.
          Peace.

            Hi good logic.

There is nothing in the text about asking Allah "directly".

Why would they come to Muhammad anyway, can't they ask for forgiveness from their own homes?

I'm plainly reading the text, in context

The case happens also today. There are people who ask me to implore the Holy Spirit for information. It is no big deal. They are perhaps shy or lack faith to ask.

                Peace Nonmushrik.

                Here is the context

The prophet/messenger is bringing the revelation,if they claim to be true believers at that time ( and not hypocrites- like many with ill hearts of every generation-) they need to do the following
                461
When they are told, "Come to what God has revealed, and to the messenger," you see the hypocrites shunning you completely.

The messenger is the focus /leader /... He is bringing them the scripture that needs to be followed, that is why they come to him!!!!

Brother, you are reading the verse without context. Read the other verses that go with the context.

                GOD bless you.
                Peace.

                  Hi good logic.

The verse you quoted has no problems, it deals with the "message" (Quran) in context.

The verse I quoted deals specifically with a doctrine of "forgiveness" in context.

                    Peace Nonmushrik.

The verses go together. They deal with the same subject. The context is in both.
You cannot get a context from taking each verse separately!.

If you do that ,you end up with all sorts of confusion, distortion of GOD s words, contradictions and nonsense.

For example you can take one verse and say " GOD says "All the disbelievers go to hell"? and claim what if they repent? i.e ignoring the verse/s above or below that explain the context!

Actually ,this is what is happening with most of your threads.

                    GOD bless you.
                    Peace.

I think he is trying to redeem us empirewise of our error of worshipping the devil in the figure of Muhammad.
