What is the word in the Qur'an which means "demons"?

European tradition speaks of demons and they have been calling demons and attributing to the devil anything they did not grasp. Who feels bound by any particular vision of things relating to religions and civilizations which now cannot speak for themselves?

Yes it would be interesting that Pazuzu told us why he chose that nic, but why should that nic be more suspicious than other nics?

Would Quetzalcoatl have been less suspicious? Or Eolus? Or Hermes?

    Salaam

pazuzu is the name of a demon... I just found out by looking for it...

Well, you may have JUST found out, but this is no secret, or conspiracy. If you go back to October 2005, when I first joined this forum, I explained what the name means.

As for all the threads I have been making lately, I can assure you that not a single idea mentioned in those threads was in my head back then. I did actually have my suspicions as to why the history of Arabia before Muhamad (P) was such a big void, but it wasn't until 2009 when I became fully convinced that some scheming will has been going to great lengths to MAKE SURE it remained a void.

now how would a muslim or believer borrows such a name as a nick baffles me...

I guess I must have been on something back then. But hey, even Iblis is a believer )

(the latest of which I found out is that Yemen happens to host the biggest concentration of Mohammed's descendants in the Arab world!)...

Besides the fact that there are glaring hadiths in Bukhari's "Saheeh" where Muhamad openly declares that all matters concerning Islamic religious rituals as well as fiqh (jurispondence) came from Yemen, and archeological evidence that the city called Mecca today didn't even exist before 300 A.D, (many Saudis know this but are too afraid to come out with it), would you please care to elaborate on that? What do you mean "descendants" of Muhamad? The only "descendants" we see today are self-proclaimed "sayyeds" with PERSIAN names, who wear black turbans, and falsely trace their geneological tree to the ARAB prophet. They extend their right hand to take their rightful "khums" from the people, and extend their left hand so the people can kiss the ring on it, while their bellies (and bank accounts) become larger and larger. I sure hope you aren't refering to those...

so despite all that, why is he using the name of a demon as a nick? aren't we supposed to shun demons, instead of naming ourselves after them...

Do you believe in the existence of demons, Nabster?

A while back, you commented on an older post I made concerning jinn and shayateen in Solomon's court. Here is a reminder of what you said

On the subject of jinns, pazuzu, you disappoint

Many God Only Submitters in this site are misled by the ideas that Jinns are

      1. Hidden humans...

      2. Fantasies in the head of Humans...

      3. Metaphors to define mental illness, despair, hallucinations or delusions...

      etc.

Despite not having instruments to prove they exist or not, only by twisting words and meanings in the Quran can we reach the above conclusions... which is surprising by Muslims who claim to base their understanding of the world through the guidance of Allah...

Not accepting what Allah says in the Quran puts them in grave danger of becoming what they accuse the muslim "sectarians" to be... i.e. invent stories and explanations that make them more comfortable about certain aspects of the Quran they feel uneasy with...

This is extremely disappointing from people such as pazuzu who seems to be open minded enough to shake the whole theology of Islam and Allah's Books by accepting and propagating very controversial (and maybe valid) works by Israeli and Christian scholars, but using the Arabic language to refute the existence of beings that the Quran and Allah describes very clearly and uncompromisingly...

Although I refused to comment on that, I think I can say I word or two on the subject here, since you brought up "demons".

Are you familiar with the "Testament of Solomon"? If not, you can look it up in anywhere on the net.
A good place to start would be www.esotericarchives.com.

Basically, the story goes that Solomon was given a magical ring of power, which enabled him to control DEMONS, so they could help him build his temple. There is even a famous depiction of this story, showing horned and hooved creatures "entertaining" the ancient Israelite monarch in his throne room.

      http//i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb386/Gorefiendel/SolDemons.jpg
      Demons in Solomon's Court.

Ever heard of the mideval German "Saint" Wolfgang? Well, here is a famous European painting depicting St. Wolfgang signing a pact with the DEVIL (Satan), forcing him to help build a church

      http//i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb386/Gorefiendel/thedevil.jpg
      Saint Wolfgang and the Devil.

Apparently, the artist thought that Satan had an extra pair of eyes not in the back of his head, but somewhere else...

Do you believe this whorefest? Is is the shaytan mentioned in the Quran, which Allah warned humanity about? Did Solomon employ horned and hooved creatures to do menial labor for him? The FM translation seems to think so

{So, We commissioned the wind to run by his command, raining gently where he directed it * And the devils, building and diving * And others, held by restraints}...

So was it "devils" doing his bidding, or was it "shayateen"? Are the two terms synonymous?
Or does the word "shaytan" come from the root meaning "rebel/distant".

So did Solomon employ horned and hooved beings, or did he force those human beings who tried to rebel against his rule into labor?

The story of Solomon was one of many ancient legends originating from the long-forgotten era of Yemen. The Quran related the truth of the story, after cleansing it from the mythological falsehoods that some Jewish scribes (under Babylonian influence, no doubt) inserted into it. The Quran uses its own eloquent tongue, and its own independant meanings for words, and is a self-sufficient document, needing no other previous texts to "interpret" it.

would you take me seriously if I called myself Baal, Mephistopheles, Allat, Witch, Demon or Satan?

This is no different than Manga or other cartoonish members who make posts here.
I judge them by the content of their posts, not their handles or avatars.

now where the h$$l are you hiding, pazuzu?

I have nothing to hide from. I'm just taking a hiatus for a while...I will be back in January.

I am concerned too. Everyday I visit the forum in search of Pazuzu's latest post but of no avail.

      May Allah bless him.

      Dear Faruk..

I am debating with myself whether I should continue posting here, or start an independant blog somewhere.
      Please be patient..

      Peace...

        Salaam Pazuzu,

I too am always eager to read your posts. I never bought into the myth of Solomon's Kingdom, Lot's town David's Kingdom etc being in Palestine or Moses overthrowing the Pharaoh - the supposed Ancient Egyptian ruler in Egypt because surely, for such big events there must be some evidence, right? Maybe some hieroglyphics depicting the fall of the mighty Pharaoh singlehandedly by two men, or remnants of Solomon's grand temple? But hell, theres nothing. This was a problem I had with the Quran as to me these events all seemed like made up myths but thankfully, your (very well researched) theories provide a new perspective.

Surely you can post here and start a blog? Regardless, I'm sure your threads would get more views here.

And since Demon's and Shaytaan has been brought up, what do you think the Quran means when it says "Jinn" are made from smokeless fire?

Thanks for the great threads. I look forward to more posts.

          Selam pazuzu

Do not be put off by people opposing your views. There are lots who read and ponder over alternative views. It is healthy for the forum and helps us to research for the truth. If everyone had the same views there will be nothing to debate/research or talk about. Stay strong and stay with us here, as the forum needs people like you. Good luck.

          Peace

I would be really disappointed if Pazuzu would stop posting here, as he has taken a very bold step by challenging the status quo. This is not an easy matter, especially with the dominance of those burying the evidence under modern developments, so even if, towards the end, Pazuzu finds it difficult to provide archaeological evidence this must not deter him from finishing what he started with such conviction, ie the search for Muhammad.
            Salaam

Peace everyone. Dear Pazuzu, nowhere in the Quran says that Pazuzu is a name that you are not allowed to have therefore I don't see a reason for anyone to wory about it.

Then again, you are a believer in God and the Quran as his word( I am assuming) and your interpretation, views and the practise of the Quran is as valid as mine or anyone elses, as long as they are sincere in trying to please God wich is what I asume is your goal.

I apologise if I asumed wrong. I am not particulary familiar with your posts Pazuzu.

                    Thanks
