does the quran speak about cooking meat or the need to do so?
-
bismillah ir Rahman ir Rahim
i can only think of two
Abraham's guest
the surah speaking of going to the prophet's house for a meal
these are close but does anyone know any?
Greetings in Peace!
I trust you are referring to
1169 And certainly came Our (*) Ibrahim with glad tidings, they said, "Peace." He said, "Peace," and not he delayed to bring a calf roasted.
1170 But when he saw their hands not reaching to it, he felt unfamiliar of them and felt apprehension from them. They said, "not fear. Indeed, we have been sent to Lut's people."
Where (*) is referring to messengers from God as guests as can be seen from the next verse. You can see that it is specified that the calf was roasted / cooked.
With that cleared up, the Quran is a book of guidance towards God's acceptance and recognizing the One God by following a set of moral standards and laws. Cooking or not cooking food comes in the sphere of common sense. It's just like knowing not to grab a thorny plant by the fist, but by handling it in a safe way.
Besides, I imagine raw meat does not taste good and is rather difficult to eat as well apart from having varying degrees of stench.

In fact only a fool does disregard all kind of science which is based on empirical* study for the risk of following an interpretation of a religious scripture based on human insight.
- Empirical research means that you can prove something through experimentation and replicate the results in a test environment and see their effects in real time. It is quite undeniable. It is as if Quran would say you would not burn your fingers by touching a hot surface but you test the same and your hand is burned, every time you do it, which means Quran is wrong no matter if it was claimed to be written by a prophet of God and God the author. The probability though is that an incompetent fool interpreted it though.
Disclaimer That does not include paranormal events whenever God changes the "programming" so that something happens "unnaturally", i.e. not according to the design. But this testing ground was shaped according to a model and we follow "natural laws", even if set by God as part of a "game". That means that science can be a valid argument when something can be empirically studied and cannot be ignored.
It is yet still good to live by this motto; "Everything is possible, nothing is impossible", and if just God willed things could look like Star Wars or Star Trek.
ps. I wrote this as a response to if someone interpret that Quran says that you should eat uncooked meat while I doubt any educated person would argue that you should eat uncooked meat.

no, it does not talk about it.
There is nothing wrong with eating raw meat!
i eat raw meat, however i usualy cook it. i find it makes it a bit more juicy and easy to swallow. meat itself is completely fine to eat raw, its the contamination that is the problem, for example i wouldnt eat raw mince, not from a supermarket/butcher at least
?Parasites and bacteria tend to come from an animal?s gut, not its muscle,?
actualy after a little googling i found an incredible story about this guy who hasent eaten anything but raw meat for five years, he even eats 'rotten meat'
http//www.vice.com/read/this-guy-has-eaten-nothing-but-raw-meat-for-five-years
Dont believe in the fear mongers, I have for a long time eaten raw eggs aswell, and raw/fresh milk.
I even one time when i was homeless ate old chicken curry which was growing mould on it.
but i have always believed that God wont let me get sick unless he intends me to, so theres no worrys, Gods my insurance policy, and since taking it out i havent been sick from anything at all, even though before i used to get very sick every year with the flue.
God tells us to trust in Him, he oversees and controls every atom in the universe so why worry about bugs or germs or getting sick?

i don't know but i like the last post best.
what is your opinion of red meat? i know there is the fear of eating raw meat and getting e.coli but what exactly is the source of e.coli is it something the meat comes in contact with or something the animal has eaten.
i've been checking around trying to eliminate alcohol from my daily life and realised it's in everything even in bread and also i simply wiki'd alcohol and their was a chart of different types of alcohols even in gum i like to chew, it's in disinfectant and in deodorants and soap even in shampoos and lotions it's in everything even in detergents.
alcohol has psychoactive effects so coming in contact with alcohol is using it smelling it touching it eating it applying it to skin or pores, i realised after quitting smoking that even the smell of alcohol changed my mind state, and then i was covering for alcohol in my own minds which is the number one sign of addiction.
the list got longer no pastries (vanilla extract), no vinegar (alcohol content), no deodorant ( i switch to spray on it still has a different form of alcohol), shampoo (even baby shampoo has alcohol now). i'm just tired of eating and free basing alcohol, which lead me to referencing the quran to how i should start from scratch so i though about eating meat without cooking it as Ethiopians do. yet they are not going to eat as much meat as cooked meat. also during my search for alcohol freedom (the opposite of the free ability to consume alcohol, freedom from it) i found out that alcohol "de-natures" meat while reading an article about eggs and nitrogen cooking eggs returning to their normal state while fire cooked eggs are permanently de-natured.
if anyone has a problem with raw meat do you have a problem with chemical de-natured me like picked meat or nitrogen frozen meat? i understand this is another way to kill harmful bacteria but if it had the returned to the same nature it was before you chemically denatured it. (also alcohol does this to you body... you are made of raw meat and blood so avoid alcohol it is said to cause something called prions).
sorry for a seemingly stupid topic or a still stupid topic just wondering since with the word of ALLAH we're talking about from the very beginning before fire also old curry chicken with mold on it doesn't sound bad it's salted so i doubt it would hurt going down and been super homeless before so i've eaten way worst . lolz
ALLAH's been good to us all, we wonder the earth the unbelievers the fires of hell sound pretty fair in the long run. -
Hello,
http//www.preparedfoods.com/articles/110518-cooked-meat-versus-raw-meat
November 9/Boston/Harvard University -- In a first-of-its-kind study, Harvard researchers have shown that cooked meat provides more energy than raw meat, a finding that challenges the current food labeling system and suggests humans are evolutionarily adapted to take advantage of the benefits of cooking.
Over the course of each diet, the researchers tracked changes in the body mass of the mice, controlling for how much they ate and ran on an exercise wheel. The results, Carmody said, clearly showed that cooked meat delivered more energy to the mice than raw meat. The same was true for sweet potatoes. In both foods, the energetic gains from cooking were greater than those from pounding, and cooking increased the energy gained from pre-pounded foods. Preference tests also revealed that hungry mice strongly preferred cooked foods, suggesting that the energetic benefits of a cooked diet were obvious to the subjects themselves.
http//news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2011/11/why-cooking-counts/
?That?s why Rachel?s work is so important,? he continued. ?For the first time, we have a clear answer to why cooking is so important cross-culturally and biologically ? because it gives us increased energy. Life is all about energy.?
https//www.quora.com/Are-human-stomachs-better-able-to-digest-cooked-meat-than-raw-meat-If-yes-why-did-we-evolve-this-way
Raw meat tends to give people stomachaches whereas all other animals can handle raw or cooked meat.
Humans are not carnivores, but omnivores. We do not have the gut structure that a carnivore, such as cat has. Our digestive juices are not the same as carnivores'. Carnivores can actually digest bones up to a certain extent.
You can see that humans are omnivores by studying the model of our teeth. We have the characterizing setup of an omnivore.
We can digest raw meat (think steak tartare), but we get less nutrients from raw than cooked meats. Cooking food in general, not only meats, make them more digestible and more calories can be extracted from cooked food.
Carnivores tolerate eating more bacteria than us because of the amounts of acid their stomachs contain, about 10 times higher than those of a non-carnivore. Their shorter guts also make for quick passage of the food so there is no time for rotting.
Besides what this article says, cooked meat is also quicker and more easy for the Body to digest, and there is a neutralized risk of bacteria when the meat's inside has reached a sterilizing temperature.
There is a popular trend these days that everything was better in the past and that we had better diets, but we had not. Our problem today is that we do not exercise sufficiently. No diet can compromise that although we can prevent obesity.
I have read articles that argue against a cooked meat diet too, but I find them not convincing enough.
Be safe

sorry i didn't finish the post i'm just checking back, i was going to say does anyone have a problem with denatured meat, just to hear some opinions.
i think horse meat would need to be denatured it's going to be pretty much all muscle, i've be building strength and of course you think that eating raw meats are going to great but even sushi is denatured by vinegar and salt.
does anyone think that your metabolism and body functions determine just how your body fights an organism, if i were a giant could i eat only raw meat my body is just a fuel burning mass of muscle?
say alcohol which is a poison, the bigger you are the less damage it will do (unless you increase the amount) but if two men of the same weight yet different fitness builds were to spin around in circles will the more fit man fall over.
also yeah i think people die from diseases and e.coli because they are to weak has a bull ever died from e. coli (a healthy bull)you hear about mad cow but not mad bull...maybe it's because bulls are always angry.
don't forget we are also subject to darwin's fitness test
