    Just to add

I also dont believe in being like a priest ie abstain from sex or any form of abstention from anything Unless the Creator orders it. That is not our purpose in being human. Being thankful to the Creator is also appreciating his creation without modifying it unnecessarily. Thus being human, one need to appreciate sex and all bodily functions but not to the extend it becomes an oppressive practice to one self or others.

That is quite misleading. The creation is a contradiction and not meant to be indulged in. One is not meant to be a Homo Sapiens but better than that.

That does not mean one has to become murderous towards the Body, but they must treat it as an animal and use wisdom in feeding and treating it. If it gets to choose itself then it will cause internal conflicts. It is like placing a neanderthal man in charge of a nuclear power plant with crucial controls he must use in order to operate the plant.

Who says the body and whatever else are searate and not the same thing?

Thebody is an abstraction, just like te mind is an abstraction. Howcan you separate yourself from your body? That seems to me speculation or conjecture

No, it is neither conjecture nor speculation but how it works. Your being, your soul, the real you, is put inside of a Body, namely Homo Sapiens. That Body is nothing to be revered, but obviously ought to be treated with respect like any other animal. It is also a tool since it is your interface towards this World.

You are not permanently integrated into that Beast but its Body dies when it reaches its interim, however your soul does not die but lives on.

By separate means to hold a clear distinction between your Body and Soul in such extent that they are felt distinctly separate from each other. It is one step of importance towards becoming self-aware. When you control your Body so it does not give its impulses to your consciousness then you would appreciate what I am saying.

51.56. I have only created Jinns and men, that they may worship Me.

Read the previous ayas and the ones after.

            Salaam

Were the farishtay not enough to do that? Why would God even need "worship" from us?

              Because He will it so..

I agree ... But I'm looking at an answer as to why he willed it so, considering the fact that he asks us for total obedience without fully explaining the reasons for our existence. We are warned with dire consequences for bad deeds while never even openly proving to us of his existence. Why create us, create all manners of "haram" things that attract us to them, create multiple religions on earth, none of them matching each others teaching, and then ask us to choose blindly. Then if we choose wrong, the only thing that awaits us is hell fire.

I am looking for answers from the Quran, and as of yet I have not found anything that truly delves on the reasons for our creation.

To grow the consciousness, create clones within on the "infrastructure". Just remember the dead are not alive, i.e. they do not exist (parable, reflect upon what I mean).

                  Salam All

I think the answer lies within Bismi Allahi arrahmani arraheem.

To create something and then requiring the created being to serve the creator can be misinterpreted as a weakness of the creator. Hence, this will lead the created being/man to feel important given that without man and jinn the creator is somewhat helpless. Ultimately man/jinn will just declare themselves God. When the Creator appoints man as viceroy, it can be misinterpreted that mankind was elected as God on earth by the Creator. Who else can be God on earth? as the Creator cannot approach earth without destroying it.

From the creation of God comes religion. And here we are today, the world at a perennial struggle.

The act of creation to serve the creator is not a sign of weakness. It is just a manifestation of the Creator's attributes. And the main attributes that leads to creation is carried by the two names in bismillah.

Each creation has a purpose or assigned a purpose. As humans we are assigned with many roles as part of the purpose of being human. We do not need to look far for the answer. We need to look at ourselves to find the purpose. It is also not a scientific study nor an esoteric one. We need to play our assigned roles fully and be committed to it (sollah), let our roles grow positively (zakat).

Look at yourselves now. Who are you? That defines your role. As a child, what is a child's role? To please the parents, to behave, to be good students, to be good brother or sister, to be good grandchildren etc.
As a married adult, what are our roles? Be a good husband/wife, be a good parent, be a good provider, be a good worker, be a good boss, be a good employer, be a good citizen, be a good leader etc.
If you are an adult, unmarried, no children, u still have roles to play. Some roles are assigned automatically like being a child, a student etc without your control. Some roles are due to our choices like marriage, children.

The Creator tells us to do good, to leave the bad, do not be oppressive, be fair, etc. The Creator also says be committed and grow your roles. Dont be dreamers! Dont do stupid stuff! Use your brain, listen to your heart, combine the two, ask for guidance, read the Quran and get guidance from the Creator etc. If we do all these, it will be heaven on earth, and a better heaven after we die.

                  Thats the answer folks!

What do these roles, purposes or actions really mean in the grand scheme of things? We are a very insignificant being in the scale of things. Our existence can't just be for amusement because Allah clearly says that we have not been created for his amusement. Then our existence must have some grander purpose with an impact on a bigger scale. That purpose eludes me (and us all I think).

I'm sorry but I can't agree with that article when it says

"One of the high-ranking creatures, Satan, entertained supercilious thoughts that his God-given powers qualified him to be a god besides God. He thus challenged God's absolute authority."

How could anyone challenge God when everything and every being is in Gods control. The only way satan could even exist is if God willed him to exist. Thus his disobedience cannot happen without God allowing him to do it. And I cannot believe that God would not know what satan is about when he created him.

I may be confused with your answer so correct me i'm wrong, but are you saying that God created us to increase his own consciousness. Are you saying that he is trying to grow through us?

It seems obvious to Me that The whole purpose of why Satans here is to test us and see whether we realy are Devoted to God alone or whether he can con us into disbelief and idolatry. well thats the best way i can explain the concept anyway

it seems that so many people cant grasp the concept of the test or misunderstand it?

                              or is it me?

On a side note, i dont nessesarily agree with Rahsad Khalifas Ideas about Satan, etc and the purpose of creation, because some of it is contradictory to the Quran or not based upon clear evidence from it. I do however think he made some interesting points, and i think there are elements of truth in it.

Salam, yes every creation has a purpose. The Creator does not create without purpose or for amusement. Even Syaitan and Iblis were created with purpose, and these two are playing their roles perfectly with one exception. They are playing their roles out of disagreement with the Creator. In that sense they become the Creator's enemy because of challenging the Creator's will but unfortunately they can't escape the role/purpose given (this is my understanding).

Every roles assigned not matter how small will have an impact at the grander scale. Unfortunately not many can appreciate that fact, hence they began questioning the Creator and seeking a higher purpose. One of the higher purpose is of course seeking and spreading the truth from the Quran, its a slow growing process not an overnight thing. All prophets and messengers go through this with challenges (most of us or maybe all of us cant take the extremes, that is why there are no more prophets?? - my own reasoning). But messengers do exist as long as they play the role of spreading the truth about the Quran (its the only Message remaining) no matter the challenge they face. But these people should not openly declare or self declare they are messengers because its only known between them and the Creator (the declaration is not important/not required unless one wants more ie to create a new religion/sect!).

In short, someone will have a grander purpose if it is assigned by the Creator. Have you been assigned one? For instance if you are appointed a leader in your country - that is definitely a BIG role and will have a material impact to the grander scheme of things. But the question is how will you perform that role? Are you going to slide following your lust or will u continue following the Quran? So be careful of what you ask for, if it is granted you are accountable for it!

If you are assigned to be like the youth who met Musa, you may have to relinquish all things you like because obviously it is a tougher role. But no worries, the Creator knows who to assign the tough roles to.

Talking about the soul and the human body is something I don talk about because it is knowledge given to the very few and the very few that got it from the Creator are the only ones meant for it. The Creator did not tell to spread the word about those knowledge. And if it is spread, it will lead to speculation about the Creator.

So no role is a small role as it fits the grander purpose, its only that we lack understanding and wisdom to appreciate the Creator's scheme of things. That is why it is required for us to follow our commitments and grow or develop it in the positive way..... we begin with the small roles then eventually the big roles will then come if the Creator wills it.

Sorry if you find my comments rather simplistic, I dont think the Creator meant for us all to be rocket scientist, obviously not everyone can do advance maths!

And before I forget, who says spreading and telling the truth is a small role and has no impact to the grander scheme of things? Isnt that a BIG purpose and role?

Have a good weekend everyone! Peace ALL.

                                  Peace OOG and everyone,

Simple as that. Why did God create us and put us on this earth. Do we have any guidance on this issue from the Quran?

I think the answer to your question can be found in a verse in the Quran.

Quran 5156 I did not create the Jinn and mankind except to serve Me.

                                  Now the following question remains

                                  How do we serve God?

I think the answer to the question above, is in the Quran. And I think the only way to find the answer to the question above, is to read/study the Quran. As far as I know, the arabic word Ibadah (service) is derived from the root word abd, which means servant. Perhaps a servant of God serves his/her master by serving the cause of his/her master. In my view, there are several verses in the Quran that shows us what we have to do in order to serve God. It seems that those who serve the creations of God (humans, animals as well as the environment of the earth) are serving God. If a person serves one or more of God's creations, then he she might be serving God. I would like to share a two quranic verses with you.

Quran 1675 God puts forth the example of a slave who is owned and cannot achieve anything, against one whom We have provided a good provision which he spends of it secretly and openly. Are they the same? Praise be to God, but most of them do not know.

Quran 1676 And God puts forth the example of two men, one of them is mute and he cannot achieve anything, and he is a burden to his guardian. Wherever he points him, he does not come with any good. Is he the same as one who orders good and he is upon a straight path?

I strongly believe that the Quran tells us everything we need to know about "how to serve God." Thus, I strongly recommend reading/studying the Quran.

I think the answer to your question can be found in a verse in the Quran.

Quran 5156 I did not create the Jinn and mankind except to serve Me.

                                    I agree.

I strongly believe that the Quran tells us everything we need to know about "how to serve God."

So do I. I'm glad you strongly believe that.

Thus, I strongly recommend reading/studying the Quran.

                                    Good recommendation, Hiroshi.

Peace ALL.

Salam hanslan, I appreciate your input on the subject.

I do accept that we all have roles to play in this life. However my query relates to the WHY of it all. I guess I can break it down into the following

-Why create man and send him to earth?
-why send us and then wipe all memory of heaven from us?
-Why ask us to believe in one God, one religion (amongst hundreds) and then not show absolute clear proof of Gods own existence to mankind. Would be much easier to refrain from haram if we all had undisputed proof of Gods existence. No more atheists either!
-Why ask us to believe in Islam when Allah himself says in the Quran that "if I wanted all of mankind to believe, I would make them believe" (not an exact quote from the Quran, but words to that effect)

God allowed the creation of hundreds of religions, with many similarities and many differences, now we are told to choose the correct one or we burn in hell for eternity. And not just choose the correct religion but choose the correct version of that religion amongst hundreds of interpretations of that religion. Seems a bit unfair to be honest.

                                        Peace OnlyOneGod.

                                        Do you mean to ask this question;
Why were we created as humans?

Or do you mean why us,the animals and all other creations on earth and elsewhere were created?

Notice how the choice is limited to all the creation. You find yourself a human and you have no choice but to accept and live this life as a human.

The creator has sent a message to explain your role. He has also explained that you have to earn your salvation why?. You are going back to Him to account for this life ,why?

Surely there must be a good reason !!!!.

He said "There was a feud between the various subjects before this creation". i.e before He sent us here on earth as humans. He says this is our final chance to redeem ourselves back to GOD s kingdom, why?

Surely there must be a very good reason, for someone like the creator ( Study all His attributes and see) to give us this chance.

Now ,study Qoran and see if you can find your answers there?

I believe the Creator. I trust the Creator, I have confidence in the Creator...etc.

I am satisfied with His explanations in His message(Qoran).

You ,I and all the humans were created to make up their minds. GOD or others?
If you decide to accept GOD Alone, you will be redeemed back to His kingdom.

                                        GOD bless you.
                                        Peace.

When the Creator appoints man as viceroy, it can be misinterpreted that mankind was elected as God on earth by the Creator. Who else can be God on earth? as the Creator cannot approach earth without destroying it.

                                          Who says?

From the creation of God comes religion. And here we are today, the world at a perennial struggle.

                                          What makes the struggle perennial?
