The information in the above-mentioned article does not necessarily reflect my view on the quran. I firmly support the idea of reading with a critical eye. Thus, I strongly recommend questioning/verifying what one reads and following the best interpretation; as the Quran has advised us to do (see verse 3918 and 1736).

Some of the topics are misleading, how can you say that x amount of 'gender' is equal to x amount of 'gender', that is wrong, that is a misleading topic.

Thanks for the information Taro. It's good to have a thread for gathering these kinds of resources.
There's a paper that a lady wrote for her PhD, regarding the hadith. She's basically saying that Quranism dates back to the formative years of Islam, and that it has always been an issue for Muslims. Does anyone know what I'm on about, and have a link to the paper? I will try and dig it up again and post a link if I can find it. It was an interesting paper.

Thank you for showing interest in this thread. There is another thread in FM where people can share books about islam. Wakas has created a thread where he and others have shared some excellent books about Quran/islam and related topics. But as far as I know, there are no threads in FM where members can share articles about islam/quran. Therefore, this thread might be useful in regards to sharing articles about islam/quran. This thread might also be useful in regards to sharing books about islam/quran. If you or anyone else have found/discovered good/excellent articles and/or books about islam/quran, then you can share them in this thread.
Are you referring to a paper by Aisha Y. Musa? As far as I know, Aisha Musa has a PhD degree.

The above-mentioned dictionary was written by Malik Ghulam Farid. From what I have read, the dictionary is useful and bias is very limited. In the dictionary, it explains the basic root meaning in detail. The dictionary contains unique and useful material on roots.

I have a huge collection of books about islam (from a quranic perspective). I have shared some of the books from my collection on this thread on FM. But most of the books from my collection haven't been shared on FM yet. And I haven't shared them on other websites neither. Many members on FM might find some of the books in my collection interesting (especially Ayman and Layth).
In my collection, there are many books about islam (from a quranic perspective) that have not been shared on FM yet. And in my collection, there are many books about islam (from a quranic perspective) that have already been shared on FM by some forum members (e.g. Toshihiko Izutzu's books, Muhammad Asad's books and G.A.Parwez's books). Therefore, I don't think that there is any point in sharing those books on FM. So when I am going to share the books from my collection on FM, I only want to share the books that have not been shared on this forum yet. Some of the books are original and illuminating, in my opinion.
I am planning to share the collection of my books on a future blog/website. And after I have shared the collection of my books on a future blog/website, I'd like to share a link to my blog/website on FM. I'm planning to share a link to my future blog/website on FM in due time.

In my collection, there are many books about islam (from a quranic perspective) that have not been shared on FM yet. And in my collection, there are many books about islam (from a quranic perspective) that have already been shared on FM by some forum members (e.g. Toshihiko Izutzu's books, Muhammad Asad's books and G.A.Parwez's books).
Correction
Many of the books in in my collection (that have not been shared on FreeMinds), are not like G.A. Parwez's books. Nor are they like Muhammad Shahrur's books, Shabbir Ahmed's books, Edip's books, Layth's book, Ayman's book or Kassim Ahmad's book. Although many of the books in my collection (that haven't been shared on FreeMinds) have a Quranic perspective, the authors of those books are also influenced by traditional islam. Thus, those books are not like the books of the above-mentioned authors. In other words, many of the books in my collection that haven't been shared on FreeMinds, are not books about "islam based on the Quran." That being said, I still think they are excellent books.
My original plan was to share the whole collection of my books on a future blog/website, and then share a link to my blog/website on FreeMinds. But I have changed my mind. Because I don't have time to create a blog/website these days. And I don't want to buy a website. Besides, I'd like to share the books from my collection with you as soon as possible. I am not very tech savvy. So if I want to create a good blog/website, it might take several weeks and maybe even months. So instead of sharing the collection of my books on a future blog/website, I have decided to share the collection of my books in this thread. I will share most of the books in my collection in this thread. As I have mentioned in another post in this thread, many members on FreeMinds might find some of the books in my collection interesting. But I think Ayman, Layth, Wakas, Arnold and Pazuzu may particularly be interested in these books. Because Ayman, Layth, Wakas, Arnold and Pazuzu are authors of works about islam and the quran.
Like I said in another post in this thread, some of the books (in my collection) are original and illuminating, in my opinion. Many books in my collection, have been found in two particular websites. I will share some links to reviews/texts about the books in my collection, in my next few posts in this thread. I will also share some articles, in one of my next posts in this thread. I have found many books and articles about islam and the quran the last few years. But I believe in quality rather than quantity. So in regard to my collection of books and articles about islam and the quran, I only want to share the best of the best here. My hope is that you will find the books and articles in this thread useful/helpful in your study of the Quran.

In this post I'd like to share some paragraphs from an article/text with you. The title of the article/text is "Quranic Cross References and Tafsir al-qur'an bi-l-qur'an." It's an excellent article, in my opinion. You might be interested in the article/text. I deeply recommend it.
Some paragraphs from the article
A part of the Qur?an Seminar, a year-long initiative directed by Gabriel S. Reynolds from the University of Notre Dame, is to develop a project on cross-references of the Qur?an. This cross-references project will provide for nearly every verse in the Qur?an a selection of other verses which shed light upon, clarify, or explain the verse you are reading.
As is known, the Qur?an in its printed edition has not yet been cross-referenced, in spite of the fact that al-mufassirn (Qur?an commentators) realized quite early on the central importance of tafsr al-Qur?an bi al-Qur?an (interpreting the Qur?an through the Qur?an itself). Even some modern Qur?an exegetes like the Iranian scholar Muammad usayn abaab? (d. 1981) claim to follow this method. It must be pointed out, however, that the way abaab? interprets the Qur?an in his al-Mzn shows that his reliance on the internal evidence of the Qur?an is much less than his use of other sources as he offers not only an explication (bayn) of a given verse, but also an extensive discussion of various aspects such as historical, philosophical, and social aspects. It seems safe to say that in the long history of tafsr, this tafsr Qur?an bi al-Qur?an has not been dealt with as an important topic in its own right.
There are only few tafsrs which bear the title of tafsr al-Qur?an bi al-Qur?an, two of which are Awa? al-bayan fi iaa al-Qur?an bi al-Qur?an by Muammad al-Shinq, and Al-Tafsr al-Qur?an li al-Qur?an by ?Abd al-Karm Khab. However, upon close reading, these two tafsrs are not really tafsr al-Qur?an bi al-Qur?an as the title seems to suppose. In 1930, the Egyptian scholar Muammad Ab Zaid wrote Al-Hidya wa al-?irfn fi tafsr al-Qur?an bi al-Qur?an, which provides references to other passages which in the opinion of the author seems to shed some light on the verse under discussion. However, the cross-references he provided are very limited. In addition, because of his unorthodox interpretations of the Qur?an, his tafsr was suppressed and he was declared as an atheist by Rashd Ri.
Perhaps, the most extensive treatment and pioneered work on tafsr al-Qur?an bi al-Qur?an is that composed by Rudi Paret entitled Der Koran Kommentar und Konkordanz. Paret?s work is certainly very rich, which includes ? in addition to possible cross-references ? interpretations of and alternate renderings for a given verse or passage. Furthermore, as the term ?Konkordanz? may indicate, his Der Koran provides all identical or similar phraseology and usage in different places of the Qur?an, a model that will not be followed in this cross-references project.
Instead, in this project the cross-references are based on connection between words, phrases, themes, concepts, events, and characters. One word may occur several times in the Qur?an, but the cross references will be made only where there is connection in meaning between two or more verses or passages. In doing this cross-references project, several models and methods used for the cross-references of the Bible are consulted, including The New Scofield Reference Bible, The New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge, The Bible Self-Explained, and The Thompson Chain-Reference Bible. As is well-known, the Bible cross-reference has been a long established tradition, while the Qur?an, at least in its printed edition, has not been cross-referenced.
The need of such a work, therefore, is obvious to all readers of the Qur?an, because in the current available printed editions of the Qur?an there is nothing to indicate that certain passages shed light upon, clarify, or explain other passages.
