What does mean dabbat?
-
Peace all,
The word dabbat is translated as creatures / the moving creatures / living beings.
My question is does this word concern only the animal reign or all organic and mineral matter?
A tree is also a creature coming out of the earth ?Below some occurences of this word in the Reading
-
And there is not a creature (dabbatin) in the Earth, or a bird that fly?s with its wings, but are nations like you. We did not leave anything out of the record; then to their Lord they will be gathered.
-
And there is not a creature (dabbatin) on Earth except that its provision is due from God. And He knows where it dwells and where it hides. All is in a clear record.
-
?I have put my trust in God, my Lord and your Lord. There is not a creature (dabbatin) except He will seize it by frontal lobe. My Lord is on a Straight Path.?
-
And to God submit all those in the heavens and all those on the Earth, from the creatures (dabbatin) as well as the Angels, and they are not arrogant.
-
And God created every moving creature (dabbatin) from water. So some of them move on their bellies, and some walk on two legs, and some walk on four. God creates whatever He wills. God is capable of all things.
-
And when the punishment has been deserved by them, We will bring out for them a creature coming out of the earth, it will speak to them that the people have been uncertain regarding Our revelations.
-
Many a creature (dabbatin) does not carry its provision; God provides for it, as well as for you. He is the Hearer, the Knowledgeable.
-
He created the skies without pillars that you can see. And He placed in the Earth firm stabilizers so that it would not tumble with you, and He spread on it all kinds of creatures (dabbatin). And We sent down water from the sky, thus We caused to grow all kinds of good plants.
-
Then, when We decreed death for him, nothing informed them of his death until a creature (dabbatu) of the earth eating from his staff , so when he fell down, the Jinn realised that if they had known the unseen, they would not have remained in the humiliating retribution.
-
And if God were to punish the people for what they have earned, He would not leave a single creature (dabbatin) standing. But He delays them to a predetermined time. Then, when their time comes, then God is Seer of His servants.
-
And from among His signs is the creation of the heavens and the Earth, and the creatures (dabbatin) He spreads in them. And He is able to gather them, if He wills.
-
And in your creation, and what creatures (dabbatin) He puts forth are signs for people who are certain.
Looking for your thought.
Peace

- Did you not see that to God submit what is in the heavens and what is in the Earth, and the sun and the moon and the stars and the mountains and the trees and what moves/the animals (alddawabbu), and many of mankind, and many who have deserved the retribution. And whoever God disgraces, then none can honour him. God does what He pleases.
From 2218, "alddawabbu" are other creatures than the stars, the mountains, the trees, and mankind.
From 2445, dabbat is a moving creature who move only on the earth in contrast with the bird (638 )
- And God created every moving creature (dabbatin) from water. So some of them move on their bellies, and some walk on two legs, and some walk on four. God creates whatever He wills. God is capable of all things.
The creature mentionned in 2782 remains a mystery for me. Does the God speak about a creature with the same criteria than the creature described in 2445?
- And when the punishment has been deserved by them, We will bring out for them a creature coming out of the earth, it will speak to them that the people have been uncertain regarding Our revelations.
Maybe this is a fossil creature lol and it will be ressurected before the day of Resurrection.

Peace brother Layth,
We are all 'dawab' (we move, are created from water, and we have emerged from the earth).
Let us suppose that 2782 speaks about a futur human messenger, it is difficult to imagine him coming out of the earth except if he will be resurrected from His dust.
Our origin (Adam) is from the earth, we will return to it after the death and we will come out of the earth for the last time (the day of Resurrection).
Why does the God use this term instead of human ?
Adam and messengers are described as human not dawwab.

Why does the God use this term instead of human ?
Peace,
It must be remembered that the reading is not a historical or static text. It contains prophecy and had the reading been more explicit in some of these terms ie. by using "human" then this would have opened the way for hundreds, maybe even thousands of people claiming this 2782 for themselves.
By necessity some things become clearer with time and perhaps the dabbat is a human, perhaps not.
Regards.

Peace Marie,

?And God made you grow from the Earth like plants.? (711
We are all from the earth - our food that creates our bodies is all directly and indirectly from the land beneath us.
Why does the God use this term instead of human ?
Some prophetic verses are not always understood except when their time comes..
Adam and messengers are described as human not dawwab.
We are all Dawab since we are a) created from water, b) move on 2 legs
"And God created every moving creature (Dabaa) from water. So some of them move on their bellies, and some walk on two legs, and some walk on four. God creates whatever He wills. God is capable of all things. (2444)
