They need an ego boost. They want to be the dominating figure in a relationship, and that is what religion has been there for, to feed their ego.
That is what the worldly power has attempted to in order to corrupt men and as a colateral also women give them the idea that they are owed this and that because God made them "gods" to lesser beings...
The Qur'an on that count is quite sobering. But, to remedy that, the Qur'an is interpreted and twisted so that "the special relationship" of God with a particular people or a particular sex is made sacred.
And we are still fighting with that.
I reject that this question is turned into champioship of who is worse men or women. No sex is worse or better. People, each person, is worse or better.
That is not the problem, the pproblem are the de-structuring ideas and ideologies which corrupt people to make them think that just because they are male (right now, and for many centuries before, it has been because they are male) they have privileges and rights over other people, even people who have had them nine months win their own bodies, have brought them to the world and suckled them. If that is not perverse, then I do not know what is. And that for centuries has been put into laws which now would make us shiver.
It is not that anybody when she or he gets powerful can be bad. Nobody is disputing that, the discussion turns about whether we should hold on to beliefs and attitudes that put down a whole sex for the sake of not making upset some beings of the other sex that cry and sob because now they are not regarded as they hold God had promised them.
And those who cry and sob ARE NOT THE MEN.
Nobody is fighting against men. I would die for my father and there is no person I am more indebted to. Like himthere are many men. But those men are not delusional males wretches who think a woman is awful and envious (that one is very, very funny) of them if she does not give them their ego trip.
I do not accept that manliness is subverted to mean some weakling who if he does not gets his sweet gets angry, starts pounding onn women or those who do not agree with his whims which according to him will always be women and feminists, but which in fact are many men and women who are sensible.
So no problem there between men and women but the problem is in the corrupting doctrines which go against truth, reality and revelation.
There are of those doctrines made into religious truths that women are emotional, whereas men are above that, that they have weak memories, that their being mothers make them able to put up with anything, no matter how absurd. That they do not work... Whatever.
Women have always worked and I do not know of anybody who intends to turn women into lazy spoilt persons. But those who say they do not work mean they do not get paid or have been paid for their work, which is surely something quite different.
Many people who uphold womens subservience, usually depict a heavenly earth where women have led pampered and idle lives and are claiming rights out of sheer evil corrption and envy of men. Obviously that is a very tall lie. Civil and penal laws of many countries during many centuries, most of them I would say, bear witness that it is a lie, an insulting and insensitive lie. It is like denying that millions of blacks were enslaved and brought from Africa to other continents and treated like chattel and worse, and then we were told that the problem is they, those trafficked men and women, have nothing to complain about, they just plain envie the free men.
And again this lie about women's existence having been ideal is a lie that does not go only against women, but also against those men who hold women as their true comrades and partners in life and not like a useful accessory for their comfort an solace. It is because of those decent, good hearted men that humanity still exists and has not gone down with the predator kind. So, for God's sake, stop taking antiwomen men as if they were the representatives of menkind. They are not. They only represent themselves.

Quite simply, what you said is not in Quran, and actually contradicts it.

Eve is more prone to corruption than Adam directly through Satan. And Adam is more prone to corruption through Eve. In the end both are to blame for their own actions, even if their strengths and weaknesses and how they were exploited are different. Through this story we learn about the tendencies of Adam and Eve, and by extension Men and Women.
It doesn't matter to me if you want to agree with that or if you need to twist it or deny it to fit your feelings, tastes and agendas. The wisdom of it is apparent.

In case you mean that Men/Adam are lured into sin by Women/Eve through their attractiveness and beauty, then this is of course ridiculous. However, many religious people, whatever religion, is blaming women for the carnal and satanic weakness of character in men. That's immature.

Men have a weak spot for women that you will never understand but that, I am sure, you will gladly exploit as a weakness in him that makes you feel superior. The weakness of woman is her ambition for material comfort and social rank. She is practical to a HUGE moral fault. Men are her willing servants in this matter, and more often than not, to their own detriment. It is not the beauty or attractiveness of the woman per se that is at fault. Trees, mountains and horses are beautiful but men don't bend over backwards or gladly give their lives to please and protect these things. It is the attraction felt by the man that is the beast that must be controlled. Material comfort and social rank are kryptonite to a woman's honor and morals and the women that a man feels important to him are kryptonite to his morals and honor. It is the tendency to make women divine and perfect that must be controlled in men. Men's problem is that they put women that are important to them on pedestals, sometimes without even realizing it. And this will either make men extremely manipulatable, like beasts of burden, or it will bring about violence to women when the women violate this throne that men give to women. Without that strong attraction and affinity that men have for the women in their lives or the ones they wants in their lives, her beauty and attractiveness is of no consequence.
In fact, there are many unattractive women who have no problem finding men who will serve them and their purposes.

I think Zulf and Huruf have proven that. And I don't speak just from my interactions with them. I have seen this over and over again, with just about all the women I know and have met. That misogynist stuff is mostly projection. Men literally live and die for women the world over. Women talk about men like dogs, yet only women get utterly offended when they are talked about. With that said, people...ALL PEOPLE can easily start to abuse whatever power they get if they don't keep God and humility in their hearts. I think that is a human trait common to all genders, races and ethnicities.

I'm not sure what society you live in... but it seems men over there are deeply addicted to women, and treat them like meat. This means those men are slaves to the flesh, their devilish influence. This is the fault of the men, notthe women. The women over there may have other weaknesses, which are not the fault of the men. As soon as we start blaming our own faults on someone or something else, we've lost touch with reality and lost hope of improving. We can only improve if we acknowledge and own our weaknesses.
Especially men in religion have taken this self glorifying and deeply ignorant approach to the situation at hand. Once they feel attracted to women, they twist the "lower your gaze" instruction and deformes it into a command for women to bury themselves in cloth. Hiding women only worsen the carnal itch in men. The itch gets worse and too often gets negative consequences once they come across women who are not so buried in cloth. The virtue of decency is not built up by hiding women in cloth and behind walls. A sickness is not treated by plastering over the symptom. Dust doesn't vanish when it is brushed under the carpet. Don't blame your weakness on someone else.

The hiding in garment should be the decision of the woman alone. It is also good that the man does this as well as not to be a provocation in the other direction with macho moves, flexing of swelling muscles et cetera. And when you feel erotic by viewing and feeling your body then it might be easier for you if you had hidden it altogether instead. That pleasure in the own body is a reason you cover it up instead. The wish to show your beautiful hair or whatever is an instinctive impulse and it may be wise to suppress it depending on your spiritual aim. Preoccupying your mind with those primitive thoughts is a vanity while you could have done something more logical and advanced.
When you make a showoff of yourself then you will also make people around you interact with you in ways stimulating the beast in yourself, so it is not (only) for others you would cover up.
On the other hand, if someone sees you naked and do not react in any way there is no emergency. There is no doctrinal law regarding it but it is mainly a courtesy both to yourself and others.
Another way of combating the beast in you is by dressing not extremely but you dress up in very simple and perhaps ugly clothes so that people would absolutely not be attracted. It can be easy for men as women generally wish a man with trendy clothing and then ugly, boring colors can be a good prevention. But behind the facade is a warm heart that only gets very intelligent interaction. And the clothing does not have to be ugly either, just very monotone and practical.
Also very much of the "impure" interaction comes from the instinctive application of charm towards the gender of attraction. If that can be controlled, much else can be made unnecessary.
However, a man or woman of Rabb may seem very charismatic due to the faith and thus confidence which may lead to involuntary attraction and thus some distance can be required, especially to whom does not know the to them unattractive spiritual mind (example is those who feel what I say is extremist). There is a lot to keep in mind. You like to help people, not lead them further into ignorance.
And remember empathy and the spreading of empathy is most important. Empathy is difficult when the instinct is a stumbling block. Empathy works easily in theory but may be surprisingly difficult in practice. It is always easier when you do not expect anything in return from people and then when you least expect it your deeds precede you and you can have unexpected assistance. Never expect any help but help freely from right to left and you will notice that your friendly manner will be rewarding. Avoid feeling you are being used but contemplate instead what else really useful besides vain entertainment would you have received otherwise.
A good Spirit will definitely spread even in a slightly misaligned soul. Do not judge people too quickly. You can often wake them up out of their slumber with persistence. It is everyone's purpose to spread light around them. When people think positively about you then it is easier to tell them why the instinct is a problem to them as you are a living manifestation of that, i.e. you have already displayed several cases of dodging instincts that go against the good behavior. It is easier when you live as you teach.
And yes, obviously a woman can stand in front of a prayer and lead it as she is a soul too and the soul in its nature has no sex, it just happens that her flesh had to be female in that occasion. If the fellow prayers cannot focus on prayer rather than her voice or flesh then perhaps they should wonder whether they should have stayed at home instead and contemplated on how to master themselves. The will to change is their own and Rabb does not do the dirty work, or do you blame Rabb when your minds drift off? Or you perhaps blame the shape goat Satan? Come on, blame yourselves and find a working remedy!?
