Choosing A Good Charity !

Asslamualaikum Rhamatuallhi Wabrakathahu
Let me start this article with few verses from Quran.Verse 2.177
Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but righteousness is one who believes in Allah , the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets and gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask , and for freeing slaves; establishes prayer and gives zakah; fulfill their promise when they promise; and are patient in poverty and hardship and during battle. Those are the ones who have been true, and it is those who are the righteous.Verse 2.273
for the poor who have been restricted for the cause of Allah , unable to move about in the land. An ignorant would think them self-sufficient because of their restraint, but you will know them by their sign. They do not ask people persistently . And whatever you spend of good - indeed, Allah is Knowing of it.Verse 90.10
And have shown him the two ways?
Verse 90.11
But he has not broken through the difficult pass.
Verse 90.12
And what can make you know what is the difficult pass?
Verse 90.13
It is the freeing of a slave
Verse 90.14
Or feeding on a day of severe hunger
Verse 90.15
An orphan of near relationship
Verse 90.16
Or a needy person in miseryAll the above verses have one thing on common .They stress on the charity and that charity should be given personally not through any media .however there are proof in the Quran that our prophet (pbuh) collected the Zakat and distributed it to others as the following verses points out this fact
Verse 9.103
Take, , from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them increase, and invoke upon them. Indeed, your invocations are reassurance for them. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.
Verse 9.58
And among them are some who criticize you concerning the charities. If they are given from them, they approve; but if they are not given from them, at once they become angryLet me take the example of Dr.Zakir Naik?s origination (which I knew about) .Dr.Naik runs TV channels as well as schools .If you want to work in his organization you should abide the rules made by him .his rules always follows a salary cut pattern .for example ,if some wants to cut his beard then he must part his 22 days salary to Mr.Naik. Similarly lot of salary cuts are there ,example , for wearing pants above the ankles, not performing salah etc .ok ?.Dr.Naik seems to implementing the slavery laws of sharia to his employees. Ok !..Agreed?..Islamic origination emphasizing on Islamic values.
I should tell one good thing also, Dr.Naik sponsors the best hajj package for those who worked with him for more than seven years.
On the other hand, if anyone of his employees ask for a loan, he simply turns down with the most simplest answer in the world ?we don?t have such policy?. Now the problem arises .note that getting a halal loan in india without security is impossible and that poor man cannot even approach banks because banks demand salary proof and work proof which he cannot provide since he is working with Dr.Naik.
So It is evident from above, we should not give our charity or zakat to the people like zakir naik .As nobody can be like our prophet(pbuh) or his companions .we cannot make our hard earn money to became a part of the luxury of scholars .As we are struggle to make money ,we should also struggle to spend in the correct way. why don?t we follow Quran in spending our charities and zakats .I am not singling out Dr.Naik rather I was just sharing want I knew about his organization .everyone is same for .so take care and choose a good charity .It is our responsibility to make a good charity .it like salah, we cannot ask other to make salah for us. after all we are doing this as per these ayah
Verse 92.19
And not for anyone who has a favor to be rewarded
Verse 92.20
But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High.ARegards

Charity is also not only in fiscal ways and could be for your neighbor's sake too. Charity is a good way of combating Satan in you, which likes for you to think only about yourself and perhaps your closest kin.

I think "needy" covers the neighbors as well .i think these ayahs talk about hierarchy for charity
