    Assalamualaikum,

I am pleased to meet you all. I am a new member here.

I was reading the free-minds Isra and Miraj article here http//www.free-minds.org/isra-miraj

and I have a few questions I would appreciate if someone can help me with them.

People are told in Sunni and other sects Surah Anfal was revealed during Jang-e-baddar. My question is that if the Quran was revealed as a whole then why in the Surah Allah First tells the Muslim to overcome kuffar with a proportion of 110 then later Allah gives the proportion of 12 considering the weakness of the people? If Quran was revealed as a whole then we have orders relating hijrat and jihad against those who compelled Muslims out of their homes these orders relate to Prophet's after he declared his prophet-hood. That was a question for making the link of the event. Now as we hear that last two chapters revealed when a Jew women cast some sort of spell on Muhammad (s.) Did all these events happen prior to the revelation of the Quran.

I was actually asked this by a friend who believes that Allah telling Muslims to overcome kuffar in proportion of 110 then it realizing the weakness says go in a proportion of 12, is enough evidence that the Quran was revealed bit by bit.

    Thank you.

This issue was discussed recently, from here onwards
        http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=9608405.msg386244#msg386244

The author of that article assumes the verses mean quran/reading was revealed during X it means all of it, as opposed to it began from then. Also 443 refers to kitab/decree/writ, not quran.

        See 2532, 17106, 5101.

I haven't studied it in detail but from what I know the evidence thus far is comfortably in favour of gradual revelation over time.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

Know it, Our Majesty have compactly descended it, the Grand Qur'aan, serving as the Infallible Doctrine-Discourse; and executor of vital command Gib'raa'eil had descended along with it Qur'aan, trustfully.

And We have not sent you the Messenger but to act as guarantor-bearer of glad tidings, and in time line as Warner-Revivalist-Awakener.

Moreover, Our Majesty have since segmented the Qur'aan in distinctly split parts; The purpose of splitting in parts is that you the Messenger might compile-write-organize and read it for the people, awaiting and pausing.

And Our Majesty have communicated it, the Qur'aan, intermittently; mode of revelation being gradual and successive.

              YUSUF ALI
It is We Who have sent down the Qur'an to thee by stages.

              SHAKIR
Surely We Ourselves have revealed the Quran to you revealing (it) in portions.

              SAHIH INTERNATIONAL
Indeed, it is We who have sent down to you, , the Qur'an progressively. chap 76 vesrse 23

if you guys read this full chapter you will get to know not only quran, but also human beings, and all other things come in to existence in stages, thats what reason and logic should be,

what i understand according to quran two births of humanity is clearly mention in quran first from the womb of earth and another from the womb of mother,

                Peace All.

                It is both.
The whole Qoran was put into the heart ,all at once.
Then it was revealed to the memory in stages.

                GOD bless.
                Peace.

                    Peace Imran.
Muhammad the soul, the real person, not the body, was summoned to the highest universe and the Quran was given to him (297, 171, 443, 531-18, 971-5).
                    Gabriel Mediates the Revelation
                    297
Say, "Anyone who opposes Gabriel should know that he has brought down this (Qoran) into your heart, in accordance with God's will, confirming previous scriptures, and providing guidance and good news for the believers."

                    442
                    And this enlightening scripture.

                    443
We have sent it down in a blessed night, for we are to warn.

Subsequently, the angel Gabriel helped Muhammad release a few verses of the Qoran at a time, from the soul to Muhammad's memory.
                    Confirmation of both
                    532
Your friend was not astray, nor was he deceived.

                    533
Nor was he speaking out of a personal desire.

                    534
                    It was divine inspiration.

                    535
                    Dictated by the Most Powerful.

                    536
Possessor of all authority. From His highest height.

                    537
                    At the highest horizon.

                    538
He drew nearer by moving down.

                    539
Until He became as close as possible.

                    5310
He then revealed to His servant what was to be revealed.

                    5311
The mind never made up what it saw.

                    5312
Are you doubting what he saw?

                    5313
He saw him in another descent.

                    5314
                    At the ultimate point.

                    5315
Where the eternal Paradise is located.

                    5316
                    The whole place was overwhelmed.

                    5317
The eyes did not waver, nor go blind.

                    5318
He saw great signs of his Lord. ...
                    GOD bless you.
                    Peace
