2:72-73 and 2:260

Peace,
-
And you had murdered a person, then disputed in the matter; God was to bring out what you were keeping secret.
-
We said ?Strike him with parts from it.? It is thus that God brings the dead to life, and He shows you His signs that you may comprehend.
-
And Abraham said ?My Lord, show me how you resurrect the dead.? He said ?Do you not already believe?? He said ?I do, but it is so my heart can be relieved.? He said ?Choose four birds, then cut them, then place parts of the birds on each mountain, then call them to you; they will come racing towards you. And know that God is Noble, Wise?.
272-73 and 2260 have a common point and in this story there are good lessons for us. My question is a bit vague, what do they inspire to you other than these lessons ?
All comment appreciated )
Thanks in advance

Peace Marie,
I found 2260 a bit perplexing when I first read it. I honestly can find no guidance when taken literally. I also can't imagine that Abraham, in direct communication with God, would feel the need to see a resurrection "so heart could be relieved." I imagine hearing the voice of God would strike one to his knees in humility.
Therefore, I accept Dr. Shabbir's exposition on this ayah
- Abraham wanted to understand the Law of Revival of nations. Allah asked him if he believed that it were possible. Abraham said he believed but that he wanted a practical example to educate his heart and mind. Allah told him to take four birds and train them in a kind manner, and then to leave them far apart on separate hilltops. And then call them; they will come in haste. (At one call of Abraham, those birds came flying back to him. This is how mankind can be brought to the Word of Allah with decent training, giving them a new life). Know that this Wisdom comes to you from Allah, the Almighty, the Wise.

Salaams all,
Good Translation
2260. Abraham wanted to understand the Law of Revival of nations. Know that this Wisdom comes to you from Allah, the Almighty, the Wise.AND HERE IS WHAT THE OTHER SHOULD BE -I BELIEVE.
002.071
He said "He says A heifer not trained to till the soil or water the fields; sound and without blemish." They said "Now hast thou brought the truth." Then they offered her in sacrifice, but not with good-will.
272
And (remember) when you woe?d a man then you disputed regarding it but Allah brought forth/brought to exit what you were concealing retsrained (anger).
273
So we said seek a way share with a piece of it (the slaughtered cow) thus brings to life Allah those in grief/made upset and shows you his signs so that you may understand.Qatal = woe/curse ? according to the use elsewhere in the quran 7420,8017.
The other meanings are from QD .God Bless.

Peace Tay,
Thank you for your understanding, indeed I find several good points in Shabir's translation but I don't share some of his expositions.
Each interpretaion should be made in the light of the Reading like for sujood, salat, zakat, siyam... THis is not the case of all his translation.
He doesn't use the quranic evidence to prove a point but He use His point to fit it to the Reading. Here one of shabir's exposition not based on quranic evidence IMO
A. Shabir
2018 He said, "Your Guidance is my strength. It will help me in all walks of life. I will prove to be a competent shepherd for the Israelites, and will use it as the challenges come forth."FM
2018. He said ?It is my staff, I lean on it, and I guide my sheep (ghanam) with it, and I have other uses in it.?Moses speaks about the Israelites as his qawm/people not his ghanam shock
I'd like to know if you understand the resurrection in 272-73 in the same way than 2260?
Thanks in advance

peace be upon you truth,
Peace,
I think the SHEEP interpretation is a case of projection.
Shabbir likes shepherding and treats his forum-goers like sheep.
Regards.
lol they have recentely deleted a post of mine for not using Shabbir's translation (QXP) in it and in another post he "lectured" me for not using it, I don't even bother posting there anymore, no freedom at all

Salaam all,
I disagree with Dr Shabbir's interpretation as well. The message that I learn from this are
1- GOD is telling us that it is natural for people to doubt the rebirth after death. Even Abraham did that. However, what is wrong is to Ask when you have bad intentions and an unclean heart.
2- Abraham had a bigger repsonsibility than many since he is the one that is carrying a message to many and many people at his time and after his time. His honesty required him to ask for more proof. Now, he can say. I saw how GOD recreates the dead.
3- So, in a sense, GOD is telling us If you doubt that you will be sent back after death, then others have done it before you. What we should do is try to believe it as hard as we can, and Not refuse it outright.Salaam all and this is my humble understanding
