My goal is not to convice anybody here but to share only my view in the light of the Reading and according my own understanding.

6146 is specific to the fat (shuhoom) of the cattle and the sheep, we can deduce that their meat is allowed. The same reasonning is valid for the pig (16115).

Lahm/meat and shahm/fat are two distinct things in the light of the reading.

On the contrary, Ammar! Her point clearly says that all that comes from pigs is Haram to eat as the pig is omnivore, just like us, humans. WE are not allowed to eat omnivores.

Only the meat of the pig is forbidden.

The language of the Reading is precise, when the God means fat He says fat (6146) when He means meat He says meat (2173). In the light of 2173, the God doesn't say the pig is forbidden in the same way than almayta (any animal that dies by itself) which mean the whole bodies (meat fat, entrails, bone ..).
The God forbade the meat of the pig and not the pig.
Idem the God forbade the animal that dies by itself and not a specific part of it like meat, fat or bone.

I hope you see the difference between these two expressions, the pig and the meat of the pig are two distinct things.

As I am allergic/sensitive to certain foodstuffs/additives I've gotten used to reading ingredients labels on food.
In fact, many people are allergic/sensitive to foodstuffs/additives but they dont know it. Its estimated to be 10% of general population.
Furthermore, a significant number of general health conditions can be improved by changing diet. From the common migraine to fatal heart disease.

With respect to this article, how does one verify the E numbers given, because I tried but got stuff not related to pig-fat. I thought these were international?

Coming from personal experience of researching ingredients on a regular basis, I can honestly say the system is shocking. Basically, manufacturers are encouraged to divulge all, its not obligatory. Its pathetic.

The recent scare in the UK about Sudan 1 tippified the problem, in which a cancer-causing agent banned 2 years ago was found in over 400 widely available common products.
