I was wondering what the eight pairs of the livestock are; Wikipedia shows 21 livestocks.
Also, are all these 8 pairs of the livestock for eating??

fruits male and female, vegetables male and female, land animal(cow sheep,camel etc male and female, birds including chicken male and female, aquatic animals male and female,pulses(daal) male and female, anaj(rice,wheat) male and female...
thats what it mean and if we look around us through out the planet this live stock of eight pairs is revolving around everywhere... and everything we eat comes from these 8 sources... rest of it God knows best...

Of course, but I'm talking about this verse
396 He created you from one person, then He made from it its mate. And He sent down to you eight pairs of the livestock. He creates you in the wombs of your mothers, a creation after a creation in three darkness?s. Such is God your Lord. To Him belongs the sovereignty. There is no god besides Him. How is it then you deviate?
I haven't read about vegetable or dry goods categorized as livestock in Quran. I need to know the eight pairs animals/livestock because during the restricted months we aren't allowed to eat (or just hunt??) game, which is opposite to livestock.

This verse should clarify that vegetables, fruits and dry goods etc. are not categorized as livestock, rather livestock are farm animals.
3227 Have they not seen that We drive the water to the barren lands, and produce with it crops to feed their livestock, and themselves? Do they not see?
From crops we get the vegetables, grass and dry goods etc., which the livestock (like cows and chickens) eat from, and also us humans.
I don't know all the livestock of the 8 pairs.

but we human consume not only meat , we also consume other edible items.. and if we gather all the catagories we end up with eight possible catagories which i already share but what i understannd you are asking just about grazing animals and their pairs?
by they way, everything is in a cycle, plants are also living things, and you can freeze vegetable up to one year on other hand freezing meat should be consume with in 3 months... and its depend on how we understand all this.. if we just assume quran is talking about eight pairs of grazing animals lets have a look what we have inn markets for eating in grazing catagory..
sheep, cow, goat, deer, pig,camel,chicken and fish its also eight but in some areas horse meat people use and other things like lizards, snakes ets..

the way i catagroised the thinngs come up with eight different pairs of edible items... every catagory is different from others. if we just go literal meanings of eight livestock animals result will not be eight i think..peace

There are no mistakes in the Quran, only our interpretations and translations.
Anyway, the categorization you made can't be correct because if we look at verse 3227 we understand that the Quran makes a distinction between livestock (farm/domesticated animals) and crops (grass, vegetables, some fruits, dry goods such as rice, wheat etc.).

The livestock and humans feed from the crops, and the crops are produced with water.
According to Quran there are 8 pairs of the livestock; some we eat and some ride etc.
I want to know what the livestock animals are.
On wikipedia Deer is under livestock even though deer is a wild animal and not domesticated thus it is not livestock. So you would need to hunt a deer if you want to eat a deer. During the restricted months we aren't allowed to hunt game, including the deer.

Eight in couples of the sheep 2, and of the goats 2, say, "The two males that HE prohibited, or the two females, or what contents in it wombs the two females? Tell me with knowledge, if you are truthful."
And of the camels 2, and of the heifer 2, say, "The two males that HE prohibited, or the two females, or what contents in it wombs the two females? Were you witnesses when ALLAH decreed you all with this? Than who is more evil than those who invent ALLAH a lie to mislead the people without knowledge. indeed, ALLAH does not guide such evil people."

goat , lamb, sheep , buffalow, camel, horse, deer all have many different species throghout the world.. its a different matter if u want to catagorised them.. the way you wanted.. i dnt think so its difficult to find 8 species.. u got plantey there..

Yes, many species, but they are collectively called goat, sheep, cattle, etc.
