    Peace Sisters and Brothers.

Im asking this because we all believe in one God. And as we know God himself talks about the previous scriptures in the Quran.
However when Im reading the Bible I can see some verses that are nonsense. Full of anger and sexually explicit.

To what extent is this book reliable. How much of it is fiction and how much is Truth ?

Check out the following verses from the bible

Deuteronomy 2301 He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD.

So a person who was castrated cannot go to heaven ?

Matthew 1912 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

However here Mr.Jesus says speaks of those people in a good manner.

1 Samuel 1825-17 And Saul said, Thus shall ye say to David, The king desireth not any dowry, but an hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to be avenged of the king's enemies. But Saul thought to make David fall by the hand of the Philistines.
And when his servants told David these words, it pleased David well to be the king's son in law and the days were not expired.
Wherefore David arose and went, he and his men, and slew of the Philistines two hundred men; and David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full tale to the king, that he might be the king's son in law. And Saul gave him Michal his daughter to wife.

So David killed 200 Philistines and took their foreskin to give as a gift ?

And there are other examples as these.

So HOW reliable IS THE BIBLE ?

    Peace

It is as reliable as the imagination of the author(s).

I have offered a reply to this query but since it has to do with 'aliens', i placed it under a thread dealing with those.

          the interpretation is very distorted..

taking it into the context of the whole, and with the quran, we get a better understanding.

i love the previous scriptures, and i love the fear of YHWH.

God presents examples through everything in this life. try to ponder why he does what he does..

the tabernacle, the temples etc.. the progress of the jewish people.. everything, its all representitive of a progress of the spiritual development of man, and as a test for each time and people, but its ALL for a purpose, one which our LORD makes evident through his scriptures, and his manifest signs.

noone can deny Gods previous scriptures except the wrongdoers, look at all the prophecies in it, they are all proven true, and still being proven true to this day. it contains much beauty, and teaches one the love and fear of YHWH, the One Supreme.

as God informs us in the quran 'in the torah was direction and a mercy for the children of israel'

there are certainly some additions/alterations and much misinterpretation. but Gods guidance is sufficient to distinguish truth from falsehood, and get to the bottom of it.

          peace be with you
