    Peace Comrox,

so prayer/contact/recitation being mandated at this time, every day, and for all mankind often seems silly to me.

Evidence of the underlined part from the quran please?

Forget all mankind, salat/communion is not even mandated for all muslimeen/peacemakers but only for a specific subset of muslimeen (the mumineen/faithful/trusting).

4103 Then, if you have completed the salat, remember God while standing, or sitting, or on your sides. Then, if you are secure, establish the salat. Indeed, the salat for the believers is a book that is scheduled.

As you can see from 4914, all mumineen are muslimeen but all muslimeen are not mumineen.

4914 The nomads said AAMANNA (we believe). Say "You have not believed; but you should say ASLAMNA (we make peace), for belief has not yet entered into your hearts." If you obey God and His messenger, He will not put any of your works to waste. God is forgiver, merciful.

First step is "aslamna"/make peace and second step is "aamanna"/have faith/have trust.

    Peace

You are correct; it was my mistake. )

Salaat is only for the mumineen. I just feel that everyone should aspire to be mumineen, so requirements should be something that's during reasonable daylight hours for most people, in my mind (of course, this discussion is irrelevant within the context of a non-physical salaat). Although, it must be remembered that most people are not - or will not be - mumineen (7102, 12103, 26121, 26158, 3441, among many other verses).

        wellbeing be with you,

aqeemu aSSalat means to affirm the connection,

it is mandated upon those who have trusted, at specific times.

seek aid with perseverance and trust and seek only Allah, for He cannot be found by seeking elsewhere, and no doctrine including the quran alone one will show you his path leading upright.

people for certain follow the quran alone, yet miss the guidance of God contained within.

if Allah has willed be will guide you, there is a great example in the quran, when abraham prayed 'show us our rites'.

        peace.

its best to try for momineen ,, i think every body like to come first three title positions... but its impossible for all of them to qualify... in a class..

but there is no competetion here ,

the requirement of mumineed or advance believers is to hold a firm connection this act should not encourge to miss it...

even there will be levels of everything everywhere , one should always try for getting best.. the results set it on God..

          peace

            Peace,

Thank you all. Comrox, I think getting up early for the prayer is a good think.

I see sajda(physical, putting your forehead on the ground) as a most beautiful act of worship to God.

But, I think that because I have prayed Sunni way in the past, I have been feeling like I am making things up.

Anyway, I know this is not the prayer section of the forum, but could some of you please post your understanding of how does God wants us to pray?

1 Ablution, it's explained in the Quran, and it's very clear. So, we don't have to worry bout it.

2 stand up dutifully and recite the Quran.

3 Do sajda. OK, now, would you pray, talk to God, repent, etc while your forehead is on the Ground.

4 After the second prostration recite the 17111 from the Quran

I think I might have forgot the fading towards meka and I still feel like I am inventing stuff and it still doesn't feel quite right.

            Thanks

              peace be with you,

              the requirements for Salat are

washing face, hands to elbows, and wiping over the head, and feet to the ankles (54 if i remember correctly, which i probably dont at this stage, inshaAllah)

remembering God (this is the purpose of salat, as when God is speaking to musa in the valley of tuwa he says 'affirm the connection for my rememberance', and the hypocrites are mentioned as 'when they affirm the connection they only want to be seen, and they do not remember God except a little&#039

prostrating ('when you are with them and you affirm the connection... after they have prostrated..&#039 i believe this is a pysical prostration, hence the need for a company to stand gaurd while a company affirm the connection, and then to rotate companies, when there is need, as as mentioned in surah 32? (prostration / as-sajda 'only those who believe in our signs, when they have heard them, they have fallen down prostrating', and if i recall correctly there is mention of trusters who 'when they hear Gods signs fall down prostrating in tears, saying, glory be to our Lord...&#039

the rest in my understanding is implied such as

seeking refuge in ALLH from shaytaan the rejected before reciting the quran

reciting al-fatiha (it is a personal address, and beautiful sufficent supplication to our Lord, and seems appropriate, you first use the 'key' to unlock the door, before you can 'make connection' with your Lord..)

              kneeling (ruku`)

              calling upon Al-Rahman, or which ever of His best names you wish and;

do not be secret in your salat or loud (i interpret this in multiple ways, the esoteric meaning i believe is that we are not to spend all our salat 'talking' but also 'listening' because it does not actualy mention speaking or reciting in salat.

              some bonuses in my view

dedicating salat with 'inna Salati wa nusuki wa mahyaha wa mahmati lillahi rabbil `aalameen' (indeed my connection and my rites and my life and my death are for ALLH, Lord of the exsistences)

glorifying the name of your LORD, the Supreme (al-`aDHeem)

glorifying the name of your LORD, the Exulted (al-`Ala)

finishing by saying 'alhamdullilahi rabbil `aalameen (as it is mentioned as being the last/later of the righteous call in the next life)

generaly being attentive, listening, being sincere, and dedicated to God alone..

of course all this is my own understanding from the quran.

              there are exceptions, such as;

if in times of fear/battle, there is no blame for shortening/losing from the connection (i interpret this as either meaning not preforming a regular salat, or doing it quickly, the former seems to make more sense, as God mentions that we can, in such situations affirm the connection while walking or riding etc)

if we are drunk, we should not approach salat untill we know what we are saying

if we are 'distant/seperated' (junuban) except if we are 'passing through a way/considering a way' (im not entirely sure of this one yet, but i do not think that the traditional interpretation of it meaning 'in a state of impurity due to orgasm' is correct, as later in the verse, God mentions 'if you have touched the women'... in the context of finding no water) untill we have purified

and if we are sick, on a journey (or possibly, due to the context 'upon recovery (from our sickness)&#039, have touched women, or have come from the toilet (from memory) and do not find water, we are to seek clean soil, and use it to wipe over our face and hands

of course i would recommend researching for yourself, and verifying everything i have said, which is to the best of my ability, time, memory and understanding accuracte to what the quran says, but without doubt faliable, because i am a human being.

i more or less try to follow all of the above, in a relatively logical and ordily manner, but theese are only the exoteric actions, which are, as all of Gods symbols (everything) (in my understanding) simply metaphors or symbols for the inner meaning, so what actualy goes on in my salat is more accurately summed up as 'battling to break through the barrier of pride and sin to humble myself before my lord, and turn to him, and seek his aid, mercy, instruction etc'

also i highly recommend standing up at night, if you can manage, to learn the quran, as much as is easy for you, and getting up early in the morning (the earlier the better) to seek Gods forgiveness, and to also to focus on/recite/study/learn the quran at dawn, as all theese deeds are mentioned in the quran as being meritous, and they certainly are from the experience of this life, and i hope and pray in the next life.

              peace be with you..

also, i highly recommend not following anything at all i just said, but seeking Gods aid, and direction, and simply ask Him to 'show us our rites' as abraham did. and doing what feels natural, and right

                Peace,

I have read on the net that there is no hadith that tells you how to pray, but that if was passed down.

                Anyone familiar with that?

                Thanks

                  Peace all.

The other day, I set the alarm to wake me up for dawn prayer. I was going to start praying as per the " The natural republic""(Quran alone)

So I set my alarm to wake me up at a bit before, so that I might have a shower and at then pray. Now once I got up in the morning, I couldn't help but feel a bit scared to do it the Quran alone way, hence the saying "Don't try to reinvent the wheel". In the past I have prayed Sunni way,

While I am thinking about it, I would invite you to comment and, or maybe you can help take that fear
                  away.

I need some closure on what's the true, right religion an I need to start practicing God willing.

                  Thanks

Translation of the Gospel - Matthew 65 ?And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

9 ?This, then, is how you should pray

                  ??Our Father in heaven,
                  hallowed be your name,
                  10 your kingdom come,
                  your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one. ?
14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Quran 546 And We sent in their footsteps Jesus, son of Mary, authenticating what was present with him of the Torah. And We gave him the Gospel, in it is a guidance and a light, and authenticating what was present with him of the Torah, and a guidance and a lesson for the righteous.

Quran 568 Say "O people of the Book, you are not upon anything until you uphold the Torah and the Gospel and what was sent down to you from your Lord." And for many of them, what was sent down to you from your Lord will only increase them in transgression and rejection. So do not feel sorry for the rejecting people.

So what i do is, i stand, prayer that can be found in the Gospel, bow, prayer that can be found in the Gospel, kneel, speaking the "sahada". 3 times a day, at "salaat al fadjr, wusta" and "isha". And before praying i do the ablution that is mentioned in the Quran. That's it. And i ask God to make my prayers complete.

Anyways, those above me said something important. Focus on your relationship with God instead of your physical thing. Because you may perform the best physical prayer, but if you are commiting idolatry it's just in vain?

Learn what the word "salaat" means. And stay away from sects, just stay away from them. Don't go to mosques that are not build by you and which are not build upon righteousness from the beginning.

= Sad-Lam-Waw = prayer, supplication, petition, oration, eulogy, benediction, commendation, blessing, honour, magnify, bring forth, follow closely, walk/follow behind closely, to remain attached.

There is a whole chapter that is being called The Prostration, chapter 32. Interesting to read?

Most important, why do we need to pray? Because of

2014 "I am God, there is no god except Me, so serve Me and hold the contact prayer for My remembrance."

                    Peace Ervin,

Personally, I'm conflicted about the dawn prayer myself.

A lot of people obviously sleep through dawn, so prayer/contact/recitation being mandated at this time, every day, and for all mankind often seems silly to me. Especially if people are so sleepy that they do not allow themselves the time to become aware of their words (I know this is prohibited and not ideal, but I'm sure it definitely still happens for Muslims in the early hours of the morning).

At the same time, when I've been up at dawn and offered a prayer, I've felt peaceful. Everything is so quiet, like all the earth and time has stopped. I've enjoyed watching light slowly fill the sky a few times. It makes me feel calm and relaxed, really appreciating the beauty and all the moments that pass by, the simple things. Going back to the silence, even when I was living in a busy college dorm hall, I could hear nothing at all. For once I had clarity of thought.

So all in all, I'm not really sure what I think still. )

It was nearly impossible for me to wake up at dawn before i started having a diet and running 5-10km each day. Now i can wake up at 430-5AM by the will of God. I think a diet and sports are important. Key = asking God to grant you the power.

                      Thanks

                      May the Lord Teach us.

It takes time brother. Important = to read the Quran and ask God to Teach you Hes Word before you do anything.

Forget everything what you learned as a "sunni". Stay away from sects that follow other Books then the Torah, Psalms, Gospel and all other Scriptures revealed by God.

Start over, new, fresh, and may you only be guided by the word of God.

                        peace all,

salat is a connection/following/contact with/of our Lord, this is something we should strive to remain in, not just to do once or twice, or 5 or ten times a day.

all our rites are there to teach us, and they are examples, Allh does not need our worship, but we need to remember Him.

Example, the children of Israel, their rites, and temples etc. there is so many symbols for us to learn from through them, same as the rites in the quran, for each people, and each time / stage of humanities development, God has instituted rites to follow, theese are examples for us to learn from ... i.e

'why do they not reflect upon the quran'

'in this is a lesson for those who reflect'

Allh does not institute meaningless rites on us, and while the first and foremost test is obedience, and whether or not we obey Him, there is also a inner esoteric sense to everything in the quran, and indeed life, this es-sense is what we should focus on as we obey the clear commands in the quran.

                        peace be with you

                        peace
