Was the whole purpose of our creation, for worship?

No, it was to serve the infinite Creator by making peace and doing good deeds to develop and evolve spiritually. The word "ya'buduni" in 5156 has been deliberately mistranslated by the pagans. Worshipping is practiced by pagans. The infinite Creator is not egoistic or needy like some of its creation that wanted to be worshipped (for example the negative higher dimensional entities like Enki, Enlil, Marduk etc.). Do extensive research on Sumerian inscriptions, Enki, Enlil, Marduk etc. (the ones who pretended to be Yahweh) and you will discover the secret of where all the deceptive negative messages came from.
4133 And who is better in saying than he who invites to God, and does good works, and says "I am from ALMUSLIMEEN/one of those who have made peace."
11123 And to God is the unseen of the heavens and the earth, and to him all matters return. So serve him and put your trust in him. Your Lord is not unaware of what you all do.

The return to your Lord points to the spiritual evolution.
In my understanding, the purpose of creation cannot possibly be to test the creation or "distinguish" the good from the bad because that presumes that God does not know the outcome. The infinite Creator already knows the outcome so the "test" makes no sense at all.
