I have to thank the sunni sheik I had for my Sunday school arabic classes. I was around ten years old at the time. This guy was ultra conservative and did everything by the book of sunni teachings. I stumbled upon him and his buddies during a playtime break watching Baywatch in the basement of the masjid while the kids played upstairs. They gave me this sheepish grin and wanted to know if I wanted to watch with them. At that moment I said to myself "F this, I will figure it out on my own."

I was kinda scared of sheikhs. My parents always tried to keep us away from them by saying they run factory of corruption. I do regret not trying to find answers to my questions earlier. Life would have been so different then! But I am still thankful to him now.

I've been labeled Kafir, Infidel or other label and I never took it personal.. or deemed it as such..
Although I would agree that such sentence can be objectively assessed as personal attack.Having said that, I would agree that "Personal Attack", "Insult" and "Ad Hominem" should be categorized as violation of decency and must be put inside the forum rules. Feel free to attack or insult or reject the opinion but not those who voiced the opinion.

If insulting an item or dead person or God deemed as criteria..
Then the only party who is authorized to judge such criteria whether he/she or it feel insulted is the item, the dead person or the God themselves. Without any complain coming from the item, the dead person or the God, then such rule cannot be properly assessed.No member of this forum has the right to be the sole representative of the item, the dead person or the God as such when he or she feel insulted then it's considered to be an insult towards the item, the dead person or the God.
True, but insults of that kind usually brings down the quality of the discussion. It makes a forum too hostile for interaction.
One thing I experience after turning to this Islam is embarrassment about what the human race does!
If someone has complaint about God they should directly approach him instead of creating circus at a forum. Apparently, every item from the list was refuted long long time ago by................................sectarians! But I guess sometimes fetish for masks and burkas is far stronger.

hahaha rotfl there will be a modern court session will be there... with clips recording in which athiest/disbeleivers are claiming things and God will show them , look here is the proof , and then the punishment will be decided for them , hell prison .. a situation fully unhappy...
they will really get jealous when they see the people in heaven with 72 vigirns having a pure wine in hand with a music uncompareable to this world.. having natural disco lights of helium gas ... yay just kidding..
and intresetingly ... the disbeleivers/criminals/wicked will get fully satisfied by his/her punishment due to the things he commit ..
becoz God is merciful and as well as just / fair

and God said to him when there was a time you mock on the reality ...now taste the punishment which i created for the wicked/mischiefmakers/wrongdoers...

At the end of the day ,This forum is here with the present rules and Moderators. If one is really unhappy,then they can either join another forum that they agree with all its rules or create their own forum to go with their own rules.
I am not saying one should not suggest another view ,but I am offering a quick and immediate answer for them.
bravo yeh thats the best answer... they need to join a forum in which every body is like their mentality who can mock, joke and abuse God and prophets and scriptures without any fear . and they will find there lot of people like them..

For me there is no"This is my thread" if you post on a public forum. You may wish to open a specific thread to debate with a specific individual,but you respectfully ask others to let that happen in a nice manner!!!!

Sincerely no derogatory remarks intended, I was just referencing to the many different backgrounds and styles of communication we have in the forum.
I am also not making any additional rules to the forum, one is free to do as they wish in any thread subject to forum rules.
The reason behind this thread is for us to remind our selves that we are on similar journeys of finding truth and to learn from one another. We can and will differ in opinions. We can have arguments but try to be objective and focus to the topic. Now and then we have contributors who comes in with malice and these should be banned. But before banning someone, let that person present what he wants, that person may or may not learn anything and we may also learn or not learn anything. Most people that come here have issues with faith otherwise why do they come here?
The problem here is the different approach and styles that a contributor comes with. And because of the many different styles and approach it can lead to miscommunication that sometimes lead to unnecessary arguments and not required personal attacks. So one needs to be reminded of the different backgrounds in order not to get offended easily. I am also guilty of this that is why I'm sharing it with all of you.
So far the MODs have done a good job of allowing all the above to take place before banning someone. I guess there is no need for this thread after all.
