I am ignoring what? Your copy-pasted verses irrelevant to what I was saying?
Feel free to ignore though, that is up to you. I am also ignoring people from right to left these days. People can be tiresome at times and I understand you.
However, if you feel like replying you can explain how you can motivate that the Biblical Gospels can be considered guidance from the perspective of the sectarian interpretation of Quran? There is much to reconcile.
Be well
AmenuelThe point is, if you ignore and reject the whole of the Gospel, Psalms and Torah then what does it matter if i do? From the perspective of the sectarian interpretation of the Quran? Are you kidding me? So it's me who is an sectarian now? Well good, then good luck with your interpretation. Why would you ask anyways for an "sectarian" interpretation and reject the Gospel?
Anyways, don't stand in my way. It's not the first, second or third time that i talked with you about this subject. And who can convince you if you do not even accept the Word?
Again An English translation of the Quran - 547 And let the people of the Gospel judge with what God has sent down in it. And whoever does not judge with what God has sent down, then these are the wicked.
So let me judge with the Gospel.
An English translation of the Gospel - Luke 44 ?And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.?
An English translation of the Quran - 355 Thus, GOD said, "O Jesus, I am terminating your life, raising you to Me, and ridding you of the disbelievers. I will exalt those who follow you above those who disbelieve, till the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is the ultimate destiny of all of you, then I will judge among you regarding your disputes.,
I could spend my time better in learning Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek and Arabic to study the Torah, Psalms, Gospel and Quran instead of convincing someone who rejects, ignores, disbelieves the word and promotes this disbelief.

An English translation of the Quran
33 He sent down to you the Book with the truth, authenticating what is between his hands; and He sent down the Torah and the Gospel.
348 And He teaches him the Book and the Wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel.
365 "O people of the Book, why do you debate with us regarding Abraham when the Torah and the Gospel were not sent down except after him? Do you not comprehend?"
546 And We sent in their footsteps Jesus, son of Mary, authenticating what was present with him of the Torah. And We gave him the Gospel, in it is a guidance and a light, and authenticating what was present with him of the Torah, and a guidance and a lesson for the righteous.
547 And let the people of the Gospel judge with what God has sent down in it. And whoever does not judge with what God has sent down, then these are the wicked.
566 And if they had upheld the Torah and the Gospel, and what was sent down to them from their Lord, they would have been rewarded from above them and from beneath their feet. From among them is a pious nation, but most of them only do evil.
5110 God said "O Jesus, son of Mary, recall My blessings upon you and your mother, that I supported you with the Holy Spirit; you spoke to the people in the cradle and middle-age; and I taught you the Book and the wisdom, and the Torah, and the Gospel; and you would create from clay the shape of a bird, then blow into it and it becomes a bird with My permission; and you would heal the blind and the leaper with My permission; and you would bring out the dead with My permission. And I have restrained the Children of Israel from you, that you came to them with proofs; but those who rejected among them said 'This is clearly magic!'"
7157 "Those who follow the Gentile messenger prophet whom they find written for them in the Torah and the Gospel; he orders them to kindness, and prohibits them from vice, and he makes lawful for them the good things, and he makes unlawful for them the evil things, and he removes their burden and the shackles that are upon them. So those who believe in him, and support him, and help him persevere, and follow the light that was sent down with him; these are the successful ones."
9111 God has purchased from the believers their very lives and their wealth, that they will have the Paradise; they fight in the cause of God so they kill and are killed; a promise that is true upon Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur'an. And whoever fulfills this pledge with God, then have good news of the pledge which you are concluded with. Such is the great triumph.
4829 Mohammed is the messenger of God, and those who are with him are severe against the rejecters, but merciful between themselves. You see them kneeling and prostrating, they seek the blessings and approval of God. Their distinction is in their faces, as a result of prostrating. Such is their example in the Torah. And their example in the Gospel is like a plant which shoots out and becomes strong and thick and it stands straight on its trunk, pleasing to the farmers. That He may enrage the rejecters with them. God promises those among them who believe and do good works a forgiveness and a great reward.
5727 Then We sent in their tracks Our messengers. And We sent Jesus, son of Mary, and We gave him the Gospel, and We ordained in the hearts of his followers kindness and mercy. But they invented Monasticism which We never decreed for them. They wanted to please God, but they did not observe it the way it should have been observed. Consequently, We gave those who believed among them their recompense, while many of them were wicked.
All these verses, but still you reject. I can't help you, all i do is sharing verses. Why don't you study the Gospel itself and what it said about itself.

But you cannot reconcile the sectarian interpretation of Quran with the Biblical Gospels.
Jesus' adversaries fabricated the Islam sect in opposition to Jesus' teachings and twisting what he taught. Their interpretation is what you have in your hands and it is obviously incompatible with the Biblical Gospels because those are the true words of Jesus, such as "I am in the Father and the Father is in me". The Biblical Gospels approve strongly with association in God while the sectarian interpretation of Quran opposes it strongly. They are utterly incompatible thus.

And no reason to parrot me myriad verses from the Gospels as I know them by heart already. The Gospels are my favorite of Abrahamic writings still available in somewhat their original form except that the Greek is a sometimes poor translation from the Syriac Aramaic sayings of Jesus.
No quarrel with Greek as a language though, it is a blend between two worlds. Greek is a key into discovering the ancient form of Semitic languages lost through linguistic decay and twisting.
And I also think that we lack proper understanding of the ancient Greek too, even native Greeks, which might have been having different connotations in the past. It is therefore good with people interested in linguistics such as Virginia.

AmenuelI agree with the need of learning the original tongue. That's why i try to learn them.
What's your forum "I am that I am" about? I am taking a look.., but here it seems that you reject the Gospel and the Torah and there it looks like you are preaching it? Or am i wrong, i am busy these few days and i am tired of people who ignore the verses and try to disprove them with translations or even their own words.
And there is nothing wrong in rereading verses. It's they that contain Guidance and Light. You shouldn't ask for my own words.

Anyway it makes me sad to hear someone talk like that about the Gospel while having read it. I do not wish to speak to you anymore, and i am not interested in your opinion about the Scriptures of our Lord, God, the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth.
May the Lord guide you, and may He guide me, and may He increase our knowledge and grant us the Holy Spirit and Teach us Hes Word.

MOF why is that you claim the Gospel is still very close to what Jesus taught yet it's interpretation claims he's the son of God. I know you have a different view but the Gospels are several books. The Quran is one, chances of misinterpretation is lower, but I believe there is. However, never to associate anything with God is mentioned pretty much everywhere.
You said Allah is not God, I gave you a verse and asked for your translation of it, using lexicons or wtvr you want.

According to you, what does this mean?

It's you who divided the Gospel, but in fact the Gospel is one. Don't get confused, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, the first 4 chapters explain who Jesus, son of Mary, the Messiah was from different angles.
And i am not going to discuss the "wallad" and son subject without learning Greek and Arabic. Of course God doesn't have a child. None is equal to Him.
For example, we read, that Jesus, son of Mary, the Messiah didn't know when the Hour was to come, but only God does know. Or that he told them not to call him Good, because he said that only God is good. And a lot of other verses clearly tell us that Jesus, son of Mary, the Messiah is a servant, a messenger, a prophet, a Messiah fulfilled with the Holy Spirit instead of what sectarians say about him and hes mother. That's why he warned us against the anti-christ, those who oppose him.
In Arabic we use the word Allah for God.
In Hebrew we use the word Elohim for God.
In Aramaic we use the word Elaha for God.
In Greek we use the word Theos for God.
And all beautiful names belong to Him, the Lord of the Throne.

Rekkd,
Those Gospel testimonies are gathered sayings of Jesus. The actual Gospel is Jesus elaboration and not a physical book. If one knows Jesus' lesson they know the Gospel. And Jesus' lesson is well documented in his recorded sayings. It just takes knowing what he truly meant through them. Jesus did not explain the why behind the ten directives, but he did give hints for the witted and the witted one obviously sees that it is what leads to the darkness associated with the directives which is what one ought to stay away from. Jesus did never teach that the instinct is the cause of those thoughts to arise, but that I teach now since Quran is supposed to be manifested and bring light on past teachings, in my world.
"Son" is not intended biologically and is on soul level and means Jesus found his innate spirit of God within himself as he had rejected the spirit of the flesh. We all possess a "seed" of God's spirit within ourselves which needs to be developed and one does so through finding their true selves. It is what Jesus means by saying "if you know yourself you will know the Father". And father in Arabic is a word not necessarily with a biological connotation and it refers to one's originator (the origin) and Jesus therefore meant you will find out about yourself if you find out about your originating source.
In your passage you have the word for God in it, i.e. Rabb. Allah means Who Is Being. Full root of meaning The Like and Arabic's third person singular . My God and your God it says through Rabb with different pronoun suffixes. It begins saying "It is Being my God and your God". God is a bad translation of Rabb though which word in Arabic means Developer. But now I did something which annoys the administration of this forum and I must make a disclaimer that this is my opinion and it is giving you an idea. (If it is true or not is still up to you). After all you asked me for a translation.
Be well

But let yourselves and myself go back to the topic of the thread.

No please give me the full translation of that verse, according to your interpretation. Since "It is being my God and your God" doesnt make sense when we read the rest of the verse.
This is more important to me than this topic, because your claim is very strong and I have been trying for a while to look at this with your point of view and it doesnt make sense to me.

This is more important to me than this topic, because your claim is very strong and I have been trying for a while to look at this with your point of view and it doesnt make sense to me.
351 is a continuation of the previous passage.
"...(It) is being like my Rabb and your Rabb in servitude to him that is a straight/right path".
The actual clause of 351 begins with a word from the earlier verse 350 which is and means " being prepared for and be able/capable to". Obviously this does not say much but one would need to retranslate the whole context in order to make out what it likes to say. I have not yet started working on this chapter in my project study.
Despite that it is clearly disproved that I make this discussion on this forum I will present what this phrase from 350 says
And offer what is not clear by the means of the Torat, i.e. he (Jesus) was there to clarify the intent with the Torat.
Anyways, this is my opinion and my interpretation and that is a disclaimer for me. I neither claim it to be true or not in order not to run into problems with the administration.
Be well

Salam,
the hypocrites will try to get as much money as possible through this confusion.
What do you or anyone else think the butchers are saying to make food "halal"?
They say "In the name of God"; Bismillah.
Nowhere in Quran does it say that "Bismillah" must be uttered by a butcher or an imam etc.
Also, how do we know they slaughter the animals? I have always held the thought a machine and a tape recorder would profit them more ;D
Buy meat, mention the name of God.
6119 And why should you not eat that on which the name of God has
been mentioned, when He has fully detailed to you what has been
made forbidden; except what you are forced to? Many misguide
by their desires without knowledge; your Lord is fully aware of
the transgressors. There is of course a trust issue with the halal-marked food. What if they haven't mentioned the name of God? It's just better to do it ourselves, or if a believer shares.
Salam
Salam,
Read the bold. I might have been wrong on what I wrote. When reading verse 2236 it says "remember" instead of "mention" the name of God. I'm conflicted whether this verse is actually telling us to remember the name of God inside our heads, or to utter the name of God. I'm leaning more towards uttering as it says "upon them".
2236
And the plump livestock, We have made them for you to be among
the symbols of God; you will have benefit in them. So remember
the name of God upon them in succession; then, once their sides
have become still, you may eat from them and feed with them the
poor and the needy. It was thus that We have commissioned them
for you, that you may be thankful. What do you think?
Salam

Do you guys agree with this article?
http//www.quran-islam.org/articles/halal_meat_(P1156).htmlWhy yes or why no?
If I for example were to buy chicken (without a halal label on it) from a simple (not islamic) supermarket and just mention the name of God on it before I eat it, does that make it halal?
That article is reasonable.
To my knowledge, the primary difference between certified "Halal" meat and ordinary meat in Europe/USA is that the former is "blessed" prior to slaughter. This "blessing" is commonly done via an audio recording that is played in the background on repeat/loop.
The Quran is pragmatic and fairly clear on this issue, e.g. 2236 states mention/recall/remember God's name upon them prior to slaughter if one is doing the slaughter, BUT in 54 it allows for this to be done AFTER the animal has been caught (and likely killed) by hunting dog/bird. In other words, if one is in a position to mention/remember/recall the name of God prior to slaughter that's fine, but it can also be done after the animal has been killed.
Some may consider 54 an exception but taking into account the wider context (see article) the evidence seems to suggest the above is the sensible interpretation.
Of course there is advantages to doing the slaughter as it would likely mean you know how the animal has been reared, fed, treated etc. Being humane towards animals is an underlying aim, see

We should study the Torah to understand this whole "Halal" doctrine. Doesn't the Quran tell the people of the Book that they have no bases if they do not uphold the Torah and the Gospel, and we know for certain that the Quran also is a Book.
How can someone understand the alphabet when learning just the last few letters. How can someone understand a book by reading only the last volume?
Especially with ruling, we see that sects do not know when or how to stop when it comes to "Halal" and "Haram". So watch out, make your homework guys!
How many times did God call the Torah and the Gospel a guidance. We can't ignore it, and take sites as free-minds etc. as the guidance and the light over them. That's plain idolatry.
I advice all of you to read the Torah to understand subjects like "Halal" food. It's very very detailed when it comes to the details.
For example, i stopped eating shrimps, because i see it as "Not Halaal", just like pigs etc.
Salaam,
The choice is yours but the way I see it is thus,
The verse you mentioned is 'tell the people of the book that they have no basis until they uphold the Torah and the gospel and what is revealed in this from your Lord, and what is revealed in this will certainly increase many of them in transgression' or thereabouts
Make life way for yourself, Quran clearly states that 'this day all good foods are made lawful for you.. except what is mentioned (as haram) that being blood, the flesh of swine, 'dead meat' and that which is dedicated to other than God unless afflicted to do so without the desire to be in opposition to God, for example if that's all you have or you live in a country where all food is dedicated to idols etc
The judgement of God is the best to follow
You raised a valid point though of the necessity of those who follow Quran to read the previous scriptures, because it helps to fill in the blanks, for example the saying that all food was lawful to the children of Israel except what Israel forbade himself before the Torah was revealed, without looking into the tanakh I would not have a clue what it was talking about
Sadly the fact that many of us neglect the previous scriptures in favour of the Quran, the whole Quran and nothing but the Quran leads to many a division and allot of misguidance, especially since we should strive to learn Arabic to understand the Quran, and if one knows Arabic you can pretty much pick up on much of the bible, although the script is harder to read, and God only ever mentions one book. As far as I understand
Peace

That article doesn't talk about animal welfare. Factory farm raised animals are not halal because of the way the animals are treated. We shouldn't be supporting an industry that abuses animals and deprives them of their basic needs such as space, fresh air, grass, and sunlight.
"And the earth He has made for all creatures." (5510)
"He brought forth from it its water and pasture.
And the mountains He fixed firmly.
All this to be a provision for you and your livestock." (7931-33) -
Very interesting examples.
Dobrodo?la welcome
