Hi Good Logic,
My dad had a cardiac arrest back in March. I quit my job and am his carer so it's been a bit stressful. Been feeling anxiety a bit and trying to just relax and deal with it one way or another.
In regards to the Jainism guy, I face a couple of problems... 1. How they don't believe in a single creator or find no need for one and 2. Reincarnation.
I'm struggling to think of how to deal with this... I understand the thought process of if God created the universe then who created God... If God is perfect then why create a universe full of suffering and adversity? I understand those questions but I have my own answers that satisfy this... So I don't know about this person...

First make sure religion matters less to ourselves, in a way we make ourselves to be a Muslim first that is whether we accept in totality that God is common for everyone. irrespective of culture, books and prophets.? and have the belief that our same loving God guides and supports everyone irrespective of their attires.
Better do not prefer anyone who is so serious about religion be it any. religion comes packaged with culture, culture comes from the place environement one lives and it should be a flexible one in this modern era.

I'm just not sure tbh... Bottom line is I don't know how into Jainism he is. He is quite into the non violence thing in regards to many things like not killing animals and such. But he said "we don't believe in a god... We don't believe in a creator, but we believe everyone can perfect their souls to become a god"... I'm like.... Right..... Roger we have a problem...

It's quite rare to meet a "Jainist" today.. they're not so many..
Jainism (by definition) is similar to Buddhism.. they're among 'non-theist'... (doesn't even discussed any deity at all).
Just like many other eastern philosophical view (Taoism, Buddhism etc..) they're focusing on deeds (Dharma) rather than 'belief' or idea.
Gandhi was supposedly heavily influenced by non-violence idea of Jainism, albeit he himself was a professed Hindu..

You might ask him further, then what is his definition of 'god'?
Many easterners do not personify 'god'..
By "perfecting their souls to become a god', maybe he was referring to "Moksha" / Liberation...
A well known conception in Buddhism, Hinduism and other eastern religion.. where egoism / individualism has been 'conquered' and one is unified with 'the supreme'.. -

After going through God alone Study for decade and also being a monotheist, now I am into Spiritual Sadhana which has given me lot of deep answers about the self and existence. I came across the discussion of No thought state before but I couldn't grasp it before. But its been over few months that I have managed to get a grasp of this state and its starting to make sense..... Now The understanding of God relating with the self makes alot of sense to me. Only in this way I can dissolve the separation between the creator and the created. Infact it gave a whole new meaning to the understanding of self realization or knowing the self.
Jainism also has the same philosophical aspect. As I am from Bangladesh, we also have a philosophy called Baul and its normally considered mystic as their philosophy is transmitted through singing and talks about deeper state of existence. All the songs are considered like scripture and they believe in Godliness within humans. So they praise and appreciate Humans as God. Its not like they go straight to that point rather it needs alot of study and practice to attain the attributes of Godliness such as Love, compassion and many more which leads them to such state. Now many quranic ayats gives me different understanding when I change the lense of personified God to Omnipresent Godliness(accumulation of all attributes) among all living beings . which I believe all prophets experienced. One cant grasp it with logic, because in such state all logic dissolves into nothingness. Some say it is the state of being without any thinking.........

If we look to even win then our mind wanders in the wrong direction.

They are a little wrong. There is a "God" of sorts, it is just that the God does not work like people usually think. God is a symbiotic phenomenon incorporating successful beings in existence. Therefore the original argument was that "God is one", God is a unity, there is nothing but God. However this has been misinterpreted in two or more directions.
Rabb exists for sure and it is like Brahman in Hinduism, it is about becoming one with Rabb or as it is technically written "allah a'had".
We must cease our false identity and find our universal self in God where we have a share of the oneness if we manage to be being at all. It is about growing from within God into someone while simultaneously in another "dimension" being conscious in an illusion and an interaction there which disturbs the spiritual growth in God. Failed subjects are just poof deleted, eventually. No eternal meaningless torture. It is disgraceful enough through contemplation to reflect on what will happen to you if you fail.
It is a strange true reality we live in with two conflicting parameters. One one side the calling body with its Satan and on the other a not calling God waiting for the subjects to use their innately growing spiritual ability to distinguish between the two worlds. The body and its entertainment and pleasures is a dead end for humans, but they must understand it.
Between the two dimensions you are, deluded intentionally and must find the proper way. You have help from insightful men/women of the past and the present, but you must also distinguish between the falsely insightful and those who are truly insightful. The truly insightful might not make much noise and are often persecuted because of deluded humans clinging unto their worldly beliefs.
It is good to not seek to defeat animals. The hunting is sinful. The eaters of the meat do not directly sin, but they support the hunter in his sinning. He is sinning due to the instinct to hunt and defeat. Sinning = Succumbing to the instinct.
Vegetarians are therefore more helpful towards sinners, but then again it is a slight defeat of the plant in question too, however I doubt no one gets an instinctive thrill from picking a plant. It is all about the triggered instinct.
