Just an opinion

After some time here. I came to realize that some people over here are wierd. Honestly.
I think some people are overthinking the ideas of the Quran and are too much obsessed with finding the truth. I have seen people who even discredit Muhammad and label him as a warmonger who stole the Quran from someone. Even though they do not accept the hadith (some of which do portray him as such). nope
Also, why is there this fanatical rebutal of the hadith and sunnah. Of course, these could be fabricated but denying all of it seems irrelevant. I think these can't be taken as source for moral code but many of these still reflect and may truly show the life of Muhammad. confused Isn't a more objective, constuctive approach to these books.
I have also seen posts which simply change the narrative of the Quran. Now I am afraid to read the translation by ''the monotheist group'' (from this site) because I fear the book is not honest when it comes to translation. >

Peace,
My advice, learn Arabic and seek advice from God alone if you wish to understand Quran, he is after all the one who taught the Quran, he says he made it easy to remember, and he mentions that 'upon us is its collection and clarification'
God told Muhammad follow what is revealed herein and do not follow any other way lest it divert you from God's party, I say if you follow the same recipe you'll get the same result,
Don't be afraid to read the translation just be aware, and if something doesn't seem right it usually isn't, that's why I started learning Arabic because things weren't adding up, and even In the best translations or interpretations, it cannot compare to the real thing, as God mentions that even if the mankind and the Jinn gathered together and helped each other they couldn't reproduce the Quran.
In terms of this forum, sadly humans are social animals and often tend to blindly follow those they look up to, but if you follow Quran, he gives us all the simple steps, like not following that which we have no knowledge of etc,
Use your head, God gave us our own one for a reason don't fall for anyone else's

Salam,
The hadiths are the works of the devil, and there is only the system of God which is found in Quran. Why has God not mentioned the hadiths? There's no mention that we should judge with it, and no mention that it is from God. Quran is detailed in all things. So no need to add the devils work; hadiths.
Then, would you abandon submission to God alone because others have views that don't agree with yours? Is your faith based on others faith?
You can read the Monotheist translation. It doesn't mean you have to agree. You have the option to agree or disagree.
I agree with brother Timotheus. You can always learn CA and then translate the Book.

What is wrong with trying to find the truth?

credit or discredit him, based on some narrations of some people who never even met this so called Mohammed figure, makes both no sense.

Do you believe he did a spaceflight on a donkey?
Do you believe he split the moon?
Do you believe an angel with 600 wings almost choked him before revealing some verses? What exactly should we believe from these reliable authors?

green You can only know this if you yourself know what the real narrative is, otherwise it looks to me impossible.

I cannot understand why people are obsessed with the life of people in the past. Why not create your own identity?

Peace,
Perhaps the views and forum at Quran's Message may be better suited for you? I understand your concerns, but I would encourage you to stick around though.
As for the Free Minds translation, you can always look at the free PDF to see if it's something you may want to purchase, if that is your end goal.
Of course if you don't want to stay around here, you certainly don't have to! ) (I mean this sincerely.)

After some time here. I came to realize that some people over here are wierd. Honestly.
All human in general are weird..
?Two things are infinite the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.?
Albert EinsteinI think some people are overthinking the ideas of the Quran and are too much obsessed with finding the truth.
There's an important point from your phrase above..
The source should not be the criterion to be judged... the statement itself should be the criterion. (ie Objectivity)Things are not FALSE just because the statement can be found in the hadith (or any other sources) and things are not TRUE just because the statement can be found in the Quran (or any other sources).
Next, let's understand on the why aspect... why people shows "fanatical rebutal of the hadith and sunnah"..
Those people are coming from "fanatical culture" background...
They just crossed side but they still retain the 'fanatical' behavior.
In similitude it's like "fanatical fans of Real Madrid FC" changed side to become "fanatical fans of Barcelona FC", or "fanatical fans of Manchester United FC" changed side to "Liverpool FC".
They switched idol but retained the idolatry behavior..It's not only "hadith or sunnah" that they fanatically 'attack'.. they also attacked any other "potential competitor" to their idol.. a good example is they attitude towards books in the bible.
I did an experiment, they even attacked "Harry Potter book" when they see that "Harry Potter" has become a potential competitor to their idol.
Cultural behavior changes is difficult... it might take years before they can change... and some might not be able to change at all..
It's natural... that's the general behavior of human.
You just need to accept it as it is..
Understand it first... (the why aspect) thus you can accept it as it is...Also important to note that if they were born in different contextual environment (non fanatical family / tradition / culture) they will not developed such behavior..
Another similitude
Sometimes it's good enough to make "Manchester FC" fans to not kill / torture / hurt "Liverpool FC" fans.. rather than trying to eradicate the entire "Hooliganism" culture which might takes a very long time.. even generations and probably can never be achieved.... IF those people were born in the US (for example) they will not developed such fanaticism to Football club.. (but they will developed fanaticism to another thing.. the one that is prevalent in US culture.. )I have also seen posts which simply change the narrative of the Quran. Now I am afraid to read the translation by ''the monotheist group'' (from this site) because I fear the book is not honest when it comes to translation. >
Don't be afraid... it just yet another life lesson that you can only trust your own conscience...
Understand them.. (the why aspect) thus you can accept them as it is... -
There is no problem with reading anything, the problem comes with the need to AUTHOrize certain readings with qualifications as coming from God, the prophet, or whoever.
If we do read each book or piece on its own merits forgetting about what we are told about it as to its value or authority, there is no harm.
a piece that is nonsense should come as nonsense, and a piece that is sublime shoult come out so.It is the same with writings by known authors read Rumi, is there anything wrong with it. Certainly no, it may be very good and insiring indeed. However you do know it is not the wrting of a prophet at least of an acknowledged prophet, it is not a messenger of God, or at leas an acknowledged one. No problem. You take from it what seems commndable to you.
The problem is labelling writings for what they are not.
Previous "scriptures" are previous writings which oblige to nothing and which should b tken on its own merits, as as we take the Qur'an on its own merits. What should we rely on "advertising" to read certain books or pieces?

As I don't know arabic and can't learn right now. I need something that is close to origin. If the translation is not honest, them I will be reading smth that is not true.
Trust me, you must look carefully before you find something which is true.

Contradiction
After some time here. I came to realize that some people over here are wierd. Honestly.
I think some people are overthinking the ideas of the Quran and are too much obsessed with finding the truth.
Then why do you want an honest translation? See below
I have also seen posts which simply change the narrative of the Quran. Now I am afraid to read the translation by ''the monotheist group'' (from this site) because I fear the book is not honest when it comes to translation. >(

Contradiction here again

Both of you want to pick and choose. Why take away their right?
Also, why is there this fanatical rebutal of the hadith and sunnah. Of course, these could be fabricated but denying all of it seems irrelevant.
Answer is right inside your first few lines
too much obsessed with finding the truth
Those people are coming from "fanatical culture" background...
They just crossed side but they still retain the 'fanatical' behavior.Pot calling the kettle black. Yep, it is sign of being all enlightened when someone spends days, months and years claiming things without proof just as Bukharians did about the Prophet!
They switched idol but retained the idolatry behavior..
Like coming to this forum to attack others and then idolizing the ego used in that!
