I wrote you a letter in response to yours saying "no I did not".
I did not take it personal, I was saying it was karma no more. That after a ban on me for seven days the forum crashed with some database error I exclaimed Karma about.
I felt it was right that Karma went into effect if in relationship to that negative deeds are repaid by something equal in return. No more. But I hoped for no additional damage.
I seek to live as I teach, so there is little hypocrisy in my words, but for a quite manifest phenomenon I could only express "karma". But the forum banned me due to their own by their own interpretation.
Hard to prove without recurring phenomena, but it is quite the incident that Free-minds forum crashed utterly a while after my ban went out, was it not?

GOD has restored it!And do not worry about "back up" the Admins will see to that.

Edit If I understand your post correctly, you seemed to have implied that the Admins deserved it, am I correct? I don't really care about your ban but please act more mature and stop taking things personal, thank you. And remember that all users on fm would have lost their posts and messages.
It was still a pain for them to restore the forum, but I am still glad they managed.
No it wasn't 'a pain' and I say this because I was actually talking to Layth during this time and if it makes you feel worse you'll see the site improve more in the future in terms of speed, features, design and security. And now when there was a backup there will be hundred more copies from that one so if this was a hack or something by a person then that person has failed miserably IMO. Luckely an Admin had made a backup too but the reason for the delay was because she was traveling. So I really wouldn't say it was a 'pain'. The host does have a feature that let's you backup things quite easily too and it's easy to revert back.

Probaly has happened before too. Have you ever taken into consideration that a lot of your posts were lost as well? Maybe you should stop thinking that everything here is a sign done in your favor especially since it affected you too.

Thanks guys but wasn't me, the hosts finally found a back up I believe...was traveling so couldn't really find the one I had.

i feel its an activity of a hacker who is loser infact , and after trying to convince himself infront of members he play this final move hahaha....
i remember a comedy of mr bean when her GF was dancing with another guy he try to stop them but he was unsuccessful in it,after that he turn the electricity off ... rotfl
btw , 16 years ago , a person lost his data .. and one of the expert fo data reteriving , manage to get his dta back that was 30 years old... (at that time i was thinking its a great work)...
and after this event i want to kiss the one who invent the data backup...lol
wise people always make key before making a lock,,,,

Karma because of the ban of MoF, that is what you are saying. If this is not taking it personal then what is?

Yeah quite an incident...
I am looking forward to what incidents will happen when you get a lifetime ban. I predict a hurricane in the US, a tsunami in Asia and a earthquake in Europe, all with a lot of casualties.
People should realize that touching MoF will inflict a Karma that will affect not only those who did bad to MoF but also people who has nothing to do with MoF, that's how Karma works when MoF is in the game. -

hope you allright GL,, are you also thinking its due to the disagreement between us on one single topic of code 19 , you also think its karma ... lol just kidding...
by the way that was the only topic in which we disagree with eachother...
but i think there are always some positive points in everything .. even in debate sometimes even if i disagree with somebody what i feel my knowledge of certain things improve..
its always nice to debate with bender , he also appraoch a positive debate with information in hand...
debating with MOF only increase more confusion... (cant decide he is wrong or right)... but if he is doing with sincear heart then dnt need to b worry otherwise if he doing it due to a reason he will be in a trouble , becoz in forum everybody learn lot of things , for a new comer learning these things coild b dangerous...

There is no forum software function for that. However, it is partly up to the forum community to police the forum, i.e. report posts that they consider to be in breach of the forum rules. If they choose not to do that, quality will inevitably decline. Just like if no-one reported crime in their neighbourhood, it would continue.

FM should consider a new host, every little bit professional host makes daily updates and have a much better uptime.

i think one month data lost ,
if they recover the old data why not new ? btw i just asked .. becoz i think recovering new data is more easier than old...

Nothing wrong with this host, it's pretty decent I'd say and almost supports the latest version of PHP (PHP 7 , not many hosts do this) and has surprisingly pretty good ratings as well. Its policy states that they should be making a backup of the db of what I assume is everyday so it's odd and bad of them that they didin't give a much more recent backup of the db and unproffessional too. I think his host does have something similar to a 'cloud' type save feature itself but not sure since that's what their support article seems to indicate so I'd talk with them about it. I don't think Layth should get a new host, rather I think he should try to upgrade from PHP 5 to 7 (this is a major upgrade and will make the Forum twice as fast and will most likely deal with all the performance issues on the Forum as PHP 7 swallows much less memory than PHP 5) and push the host to do more about saving the database more frequently. In MySQL it's possible to create something called a 'schedule event' that can create a backup of your database automatically for you every minute, day, week or month so the Admins don't have to do it.
Personally I think the code of SMF-made forums are badly written too and I'd compress the HTML, CSS and Javascript code if I was Layth since this would reduce the file size of the pages and therefor make the pages load faster. Compressing the files can increase the speed up to 70% making the Forum much faster. This is another good way to improve the Forum https//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minification_(programming)
