6000 years of creation?
-
The Quran implies that one day near him is 1000 years of our reckoning. So, it means that the univers being created in 6 days from his perpective is 6000 years from our then.
Or perhaps, these two are not intertwined?
Does it actually say ''days'' or is it ''periods''.
The universe is 13 billion years old according to contemporary research.

the arabic word "youm" can be a period of time or one earth day..
the six periods can be million years, billion years, trillion years (God alone knows)
research said its 13.7 billion years old due to the experiment of red shift and far galaxies..
but again may b sometime in future the age of universe get change with current knowledge.. (its an illusion)

So, it is not related to God's day equals to 1000 our years. What about the mention of 50000 years?

So, it is not related to God's day equals to 1000 our years. What about the mention of 50000 years?
both are for specific events according to human point of view
325 He governs all that exists, from the celestial Highs to the Lows. And all things evolve higher to what they are meant to be in such stages where a single Day(youm) before Him equals a thousand years according to your count.
704 The controllers and the Spirit ascend to Him in a day(youm) which is equivalent to fifty thousand years
so using word "time" for comparing God day is not appropriate
he is beyond our perception
he must be out of space and time , space and creation itself generated by God/supreme being/almighty.so these verses applied to human understandings of time from space to space..destiny to destiny..
and "youm" defination according to quran is also a specific period of times .. from location to location
