My Understanding of 33-40: Muhammad not teacher but sealed messenger to anbiyas
-
Salaam All
Let's take the verse
3340 Mohammed is not the ABB of any of your men,
but
he is the messenger of God and the seal (Khatim) of Anbiyas
. And God is fully aware of all things. Please note the opposition (BUT) between the two parts. The one who cannot see the link between the two parts can already conclude that he didn't understood the verse.
As usually, we have to restore meaning to words.First important word is abb, understood as father.
( ة
. .( ة
.Whatever root you take, sense is similar. Not father but education, where we eats.
( ة
. .The sense of Rabb is similar. It points to education also. Education with "correcting" and elevating.
In fact we have to distinguish between Abb and Walid (genitor)
same we had to distinguish between Ibn (the builded one) and Walad (biological child).
Even if ABB and Walid points to same person usually (the father), meanings are different.NABI is from root nba, which point to information. Nabi means informed. Just Informed. Naba is used many times in Quran with this meaning very clearly.
NABI is to oppose to Rassool, the one who has a clear mission to do, mandated by god. Rassool don't act by himself.Khatim is the seal, the ring. The thing used to seal messages.
380 Nor does He order you that you take the angels and the Nabis as ARBABS. Would He order you to rejection after you have enterd islam?
ARBABS is plural of RABB. It is forbidden to take Anbiyas (informed ones) as Teachers. The unicity of Rabb means that your only Rabb is Allah.
I like to compare "good muslims" to pupils of Allah. they can discuss between themselves. Goof pupils can help bad pupils. But there is only one teacher and it is Allah. And to him is the final explanation (through salat wich is the bidirectionnal link for study quran between Allah and his pupil).
So what 33-40 is saying ?
that Muhammad, as nabi, is not an ABB (that is spiritual paternship) to any of "our men" that is true muslims. Whe have not even to seek for hadiths.
2108 Or do you want to ask your messenger as Moses was asked before? Whoever replaces belief with rejection, he has indeed strayed from the right path.
BUT
Muhammad is just the messenger, that brought the sealed book, to anbiyas. That is the book that words will not change since sealed. But meanings, unfortunately are not sealed. And Allah probably wants people with "bad soul" never grasp the right meanings. And that is the "chayan' Job.Anbiyas are then the "informed by Allah". Our famous good pupils. The ones who study the coran in order to be Nabi (informed directly by god)
there is another funny distinction to do. Wha'y (ي is the meaning transmitted (see 19-11) and is to oppose to kitab.
You can have Kitab (book) without any wha'y. Since Wah'y comes from studying with the right teacher. That is the beauty and the power of Quran.
Allah is giving with quran the ability for each to be a NABI if we wants to study quran and establish direct link with Allah.Others, following bad arbabs (priests), will understand nothing. They will derivate from original message generation by generation, accumulating errors, political sponsored exegesis. After some centuries, you will find them in the total darkness, divided in multiple sects. They will understansting everything wrongly and doing stupid things in name of God. And when Allah give noubowa to one of them, the will try to kill him for blasphemy. Again and Again. As they did before. And if the messenger / nabi succeeds, priests wille make him says the opposite he have said and their followers will be again in the darkness since they would have lose the direct link to Allah.
The sealed book cannot change anything since they will read and study other books of false science of Allah. They took priests as arbabs, whose arbabs are other priets and so on...Note that There will be many anbiyas. Quran democratize Nobowa. But no one wants to be nabi.
And perhaps there will be other Rassools to do what Allah sent them for. Probably not for a new Book. Finally, please note that prophet (the one who make propheties) is a pagan understanding.
Reading in future, divination, has nothing to do with islam.
451 Did you not see those who were given a portion of the Book, they believe in sorcery and evil, and they say to those who rejected ?You are better guided than those who believed the path.?Reading in the past is already so difficult. Even the present is difficult to read. Not easy to distinguish what is true from what is false.
Peace from NABI noshirk.

If I have not understood you wrong, I think that your text is quite enlightening.
Indeed, any prophecy after Muhammad must check as against the Qur'an, that is the meaning of "seal" that I have always considered the right one. I can't see why God should forbid Himself to send any prophet whenever he may want it and say it in such a roundabout way that one must make a twist in thought to reach that conclusion, when he could just quietly said There will be no prophet after Muhammada or after the revelation of Qur'an. The seal is something, the time of sending prophets is something else, it is a meaning some people have derived but not a necessary or unavoidable conclusion. I understood seal , but not that it meant "last". So am I meant to miss something?

381 And God took a covenant from the Anbiyas ?For what I have given you of the Book and wisdom, then a messenger will come to you authenticating what is with you. You will believe in him and support him.? He said ?Do you testify, and agree to this burden?? They said ?We testify.? He said ?Then bear witness, and I am with you bearing witness.?
how to understand this verse if Muhammad is last Nabi ?
Anbiyas have to support messengers.469 And whoever obeys God and the messenger will be among those whom God has blessed from the Anbiyas and the truthful and the martyrs and the upright. What an excellent companionship!
Anbiyas obey messengers.

"Rabb" is not about teaching, it's about upbringing (if I chosen correct word). Our whole life is about this.
Ayet you quoted is telling about this and your "eye" was very good to see it. Muhammed sawa is just to give us "news" he was given, not to force us and not to rear us, as parents (fathers, which can be female "father" too) do to their children.
It's enough to clear ourselves and come close to the Qur'an - Rabb will teach insan by El-Qalem.
