The dog and the pants (7:176)

What is the meaning of this verse? Pants? I can only think about trousers.
7176 And if We had willed, we could have elevated him thereby, but he adhered to the earth and followed his own desire. So his example is like that of the dog if you chase him, he pants, or if you leave him, he pants. That is the example of the people who denied Our signs. So relate the stories that perhaps they will give thought.

English isn't my native language and I had never heard of the word pant, so I just searched pants on Google, and found nothing but trousers.
It didn't make sense, that's why I asked on this forum.

You write well in English so that is quite surprising - especially if you have an internet connection and are able to find search engines.
Try to google a video of a dog panting to actually see it rather than reading descriptions which may not convey the correct action of the dog.
Did you not think of using Google or is that not available where you are from?

I didn't know that pants -s could be a verb so I couldn't Google it. I tried "he pants meaning", but found nothing.

Dogs pant by sticking their tongues out and making regular breathing noise. They do it after running or when just resting sometimes.
7176 is simply saying dogs pant whether you tire them or not. ( like some people always complain no matter what the conditions).

Parable of Sled-Dog for a religious scholar
One reason that causes the dog to pant is the stress, exercise and fatigue. However, the act of panting is there in normal situation also without subjecting him to burdensome obligations. The dog pants to "cool" himself, have feel of comfort. As a part of its cooling system, the dog cools its body by cooling the fluids in its mouth by providing a steady stream of air against the tongue. This cools the blood vessels in the dog's head area. Although a dog's body does have sweat glands located on the pads on a dog's feet and ears, the dog's body is cooled off mainly through its tongue.

if we put somebody human here , he will give you similar outcomes
e.g
a member get banned ,
after that he/she will come again and again even after his/her banits mean he/she will pant you , either you banned him or let him free rotfl
