What is the Free Will to choose - without a choice?

This. Satan is like 'i am better than this human degenerate, let me prove it'
    'ok, you can try.'

It's up to us to prove Satan wrong.

I don't believe Satan is a person or a demon, so I think that changes the question for me.

        Exactly!

He is a "force" or "controller" of evil that exists alongside god. IMO quite contradicts the classic abrahamic god banishing lucifer story. Seems like a fear tactic.

Not just that, but I see it more as Satan is inside of us, as a part of us.

shaitan is an adjective title to the one who spread evil or who go against the good..
ibless was the first one who did shaitani...

same like killer(qatil) is not a person.. killer is the title to the one who killls..
adam son was the first who kills(qatal)..

satan is the collection of all evils or wrong doings.. the one who involve in any type of wrong doing considered as shaitan..
            depends on levels

ibless is the record holder in shaitani his wrong doing include every evil thing..

people are confused in satan and ibless nothing else

and if you turn it round there is a force called light , good opposite to shaitani..
ibless is a jinn who is shaitan.. its simple like that
ibless is a jinn who is not good

              Hello Baitachal!
Normally I don't dare to go so deep into philosophical question "why ...?" So I just write how I feel it.
In my life I had never any serious trouble, I am perfectly healthy, I have an easy life, I have a very good husband, who cares very much for me even after many years now, I am not bored and just hang out with TV in my spare time ... ...
But still I often absolutely hate this world so much!
Everything which is good usually doesn't last long, because people fall for the strategies of satan, which are always exactly the same since thousands of years. Companies fire people, who do good work only because they want to earn more and more and more money, not because the company is in trouble. Shops must shut down their businesses because the greedy owners of the buildings want more rent than most can pay. Everyone seems to care about his damned IPhone more than about any human. Everyone has enough for living and always wants more and more to buy useless crap ... I am an evil person, because I am often happy that all those people will go to hell.
So could this be a reason, why God let satan spread mischief? That one should hate this world and desire the afterlife?

                Hello!! sun sun

i agree those people are horrible...but.
People should go to hell for iphones?
                nope nope

Its indeed so complicated. On one hand people know how iphones are made (child labour). Yet how many people protest on the streets? People just dont care.

People should go to hell for iphones?

Yes, that sounds like a really foolish example. But it is something I see every day and they walk around like robots staring at their phone all the time. Spooky. Almost like in a horror movie, where people are controlled by an evil force like zombies.
There is a widespread mentality here that even people who have enough money always buy things as cheap as possible. Only for the reason that they have enough money left to buy more and more stuff. That sounds like a normal thing to do to buy as cheap as possible. But I think not. This is a fundamental materialistic attitude and is evil. That mentality is the reason why it`s produced with child labour. We can't just blame the big companys. It is, of course, ok to buy some nice things, but one must be ready to pay a fair price. - OK, I could continue, but this is offtopic now.

                    No not off topic sis.

                    elektro

Nothing makes me more angry then when I see a little child with a phone in their hand...or a tablet....when they should be holding a book brickwall brickwall

I agree, nothing but a tool for extravagance. Don't know why our earth had to be cursed with those inventions.

You quoted what seemed like an response to my suggestion that humans have free will to choose to follow Satan and his army of enthusiastic follower - or to not follow them.

Yes, of course, there is free will involved. Why wouldn't there be free will involved? Whatever happened doesn't really matter, our choices define us--we are fully in control of such choices.

                        that is correct.

A decision is to choose between two choices.
The choice here is to follow the devil or not to follow the devil.
                          Therefore this is a choice.
It is relevant as regards the original question.

If Mr. Satan really exist then because it's in accordance to God's will and plan..

And you can't really recognize "Good" when you haven't met "Evil"..
You can't recognize "love" when you haven't met it's opposite "hate"..
You can't recognize "light" when you haven't met it's opposite "dark"..

You've only described people being driven by their lower self, or Satan if you want, because they chose to follow it and because it is the most tempting one to follow. Satan screams while God is that subtle voice.

This earth is a place for Satan to roam freelly, for those who want to follow Satan they do so, and those who want to bear the challenge to follow God, they do so.

So my answer would be, using your own words, that God let satan spread mischief only as a challenge for the creation to follow the Creator. Without Satan we should be Godly beings. With Satan we are challenged to become Godly beings.

And we are challenged to become Godly beings.

A very simplified way of looking at the world.. unfortunately the world is not that simple. Fact of the matter is, that even those who follow Satan think that they follow God.. Just look at all the atrocities that have been committed in the name of God. So its not that 'easy' to follow either Satan or God as most people can't distinguish between them.

                                  Peace

What do you consider 'following God' /'following Satan' to be like ?

Following Satan means following falsehood, deceit and distortions of the truth (Quran 2252, 4120) while following God means being in alignment with truth and doing what's right even if everyone is against it(Quran 6116, 1422).
However, even those who follow Satan think that what they are following is good (Quran 358, 18104).

And what do you consider following God/following satan to be like?

What you consider falsehood and deceit and such is still very much relative to the person itself. 'what is chaos to the fly is normal to the spider', likewise for following God. That is not precise.

It's those who follow Satan that dwelve in the illusion that is created by that state, but truthfulness is from God and it is through consciousness.

'Anything good that happens to you is from GOD, and anything bad that happens to you is from yourself.'
In other words, whenever you follow God (whatever that means), you are doing right, and whenever you cease from following God you do wrong, and it is from yourself, because you have followed your self.

This means that we and God are very close in a unity, close in a way that doing the right thing is actually directly from God, while doing the wrong thing is stricly from the self. This means that God is the source of All Consciousness, and to follow our conscious is to follow God.
To follow something other than conscious is likely going to be harmful, in some way, and it is not from God. It is the conscious that tells what is right from what is wrong. and when it sees right or wrong it acknowledge it.

Those who follow Satan are in illusion, but God hasn't left them, they just chose to follow what pleased them. The more they follow Satan the more Satan's voice gets louder and the more their conscious is getting subtle and subtle. until they become deaf blind and dumb.

To be able to follow the conscious requires a clarity of mind, and to unbind your mind from what you desire and wish, and from what society taught you, and from fear and other feelings, so as to think properly.

                                        This is only my opinion.

                                          And I agree with you
