I don't know what "god" means to you, but we should talk about "ilaah", since that's the word used in the Qur'an.

Ilaah is verbal noun (masder) form III, and it describes verb which is related to many subjects, as the word 'ibaad means "persons who are slaves to the same master".

Root of ilaah is obviously hemze-laam-haa, and it has opposing meaning of the root laam-haa(-waaw), because of added hemze at the beggining. This is why Al-laah has opposing meaning of ilaah, and it can be understood as "One who's destructing from (other) ilaah".

Ilaah can be understood as "that/one which/who attracts many", and Al-laah is ilaah of en-naas, ones attracted by Him.

Word aalihet is not a plural form of ilaah, it's an active participle as Allah, but with opposing meaning. Plural of ilaah should be uluh, but that word is not in the Qur'an, since ilaah can be a collective noun also.

Concept of "god", as I understood it, is not ilaah.

Concept of "god", as I understood it, is not ilaah.

Basic concept god means "that which needs to be worshiped or deserves human worship". How does Islamic concept of Allah or illah differs from this concept?

      Regards,

Islamic concept is not Muslims' view of it.

There's no worship of Allah. He's Rabb, One who's teaching el-insan and He wants us to know and to act based on that knowledge. We are His children, even we're not born from Him (nothing is).

This is why Allah is not god, as mostly that word is understood, but Allah is ilaah of en-naas.

There's not, ilaah is not a god and Allah is not the God. I tried to explain what those words mean and you can compare them with understanding of god known/acceptable to you.

No argument, this part is very close to Quranic concepts. No point in nit picking.

No where in Quran it says "Allah is ilaah of en-naas". Here is the correct language based understanding of verses.

              Surah 1141

Reflect and then express in your words that, I seek protection from the foundation of the state of commotion.

              Surah 1142

The authoritative force that cause?s the state of commotion.

              Surah 1143

Run away, from concept of the deity for worship, causing the state of commotion.

              Surah 1144

A disposition for state of commotion is a basis for man to become wrongdoer, unjust, corrupt and wicked. The unprofitable idea and imagination which occurs in mind like a disorder, the cause to recede, remain backwards and lag behind, often and repeatedly.

              Surah 1145

Whoever shall fall for this unprofitable idea and imagination that occurs in mind like a disorder shall return back to the state of commotion.

              Surah 1146

A manner of acting, like those, bereft of reason, unsound in mind and intellect as well in the state of commotion.

i cant arabic Aladin and im not sure if your understanding is 100% correct. Yes im a simple muslim monotheist and dont i wanna be arrogant here dear brother Aladin but i dont think atheism is good for the world. To be honest this understanding is very confusing Aladin.

By the way Aladin do you believe in God (SWT). just wondering

No, but I testify my belief (qalb) in Allah. You don't need arabic, except to communicate with Arabs and others who know it.

en how do you explain, just for example, 754

I didn't say that Allah <> Rabb, but those are two Names of the Same. We cannot be in contact with Him, except through His Names, as those two.

In quoted ayets by bkanwar2, He is Ilaah of en-naas and Rabb of en-naas. Whenever any of Names was used we should think why it was used (as any other word).

Word Rabb means "Upbringing" and it can mean "One Who's upbringing" too. Name Allah, as I tried to explain, means One Who's distracting (from other ilaah), but since He's ilaah of en-naas, He is attracting en-naas (to Him) also.

                      Huwe Allahu and Huwe Rabb.

What names are for? For others to call somebody by them.
So, His Names (Allah, Rabb, ErRahman, ErRahim, El-Ghafur-...) are for others to call Him, but before the Creation He had no name. He doesn't need His Names, we need them, to know Him by them. He has chosen His Names for us and we should understand them or we won't know "who we're calling".

His Names are El-Esma' and that word is a plural of SEMIYY. Semiyy will tell us something unique and as plural they're all related to the Same.

If we understand name El-Ghafur as "One who's forgiving all sins" then,

                      • we should learn what does that mean, and then
                      • we should accept that nobody can be as Him in His Name, and
                      • we should never disassociate His Name from Him.

He's not forgiving shirk (what is this?) and last sentence is one of two forms of shirk.

Hm interesting so your not a atheist if i get that correct and Allah (SWT) is not a God then what is he?

                          Peace,

Excuse me then, I had the impression that you were saying both were referents for different ideational components. You are just saying that Allah does not match what we call in english "god".

Name Allah, as I tried to explain, means One Who's distracting (from other ilaah), but since He's ilaah of en-naas, He is attracting en-naas (to Him) also.

                          Huwe Allahu and Huwe Rabb.

Although I get your point (but I dont share it), I must say I an unable to apply it except in few verses. For example it does not make sense in 2163

                          • 2163

Your God is god one, no god except HE, l-rahmanu, l-rahim

You can fix the mess with your understanding by making some acrobatics here, but since I know Quran might be simple, inductive simplicity therefore the simplest theory furnishes the best.

                          God bless you all
