As a Quranist, it will be difficult to pray as the 'muslims' pray today because the method, timings, postures are not defined in the Quran.
The Quranist should not even have questions regarding ritual prayers. Was there ever any doubt? If the Quran does not contain something then it is not required?

Where is the ritual prayers (namaaz) mentioned in the Quran? The religionists will quote the following verses

2149 ? the direction of prayer (but the word ?salat? does not appear in the verse)
2238 ? how to begin ?salat?
318 ? shahada (but the word ?salat? does not appear in the verse)
4102 ? standing, prostration, begin and end but there is no bowing mentioned
    56 ? ablution
1010 ? end of salat (but the word ?salat? does not appear in the verse)
    11114 ? salat 2/3/5
    1778 ? salat 1/2/5
    17111 ? moderate tone
    1887 ? recite from Quran
    2014 ? rememberance of God
2226 ? bowing (but the word ?salat? does not appear in the verse)
    2456 ? salat names
    2945 ? purpose of salat
5674 ? glorification (but the word ?salat? does not appear in the verse)
    629 ? Friday salat
    871 ? glorification (prostrate)

These are the few verses that are presented to us to show that ?salat?, ritual prayers (namaaz) is required. Any person with a little bit of intellect will ask, if the ?salat? is such an important part of what is required, then why the god has chosen to give us directions regarding this subject in such a jumble way? In fact, we can not derive the act of ritual prayers (namaaz) from these instructions at all, specially the way we are following it. If one does not know anything about ?salat?, he will still not be able to piece togather this puzzle and present a complete and consistant way of ritual prayers (namaaz). The only way one can get ritual prayers out of this is ?confirmation bias?. And, to some extent, from the hadith. Even millions of hadith will not be able to give you a comprehensive method of ritual prayers, much less what to say while performing these rituals.

The Quran will judge you on your deeds not how much you prayed?

      Peace shad.

While I agree there are better priorities in GOD s deen, than ritual prayer,I nevertheless conclude, according to my study of Qoran, that "Aquimi salat" is a connection to GOD.
      You say,quote
The only way one can get ritual prayers out of this is ?confirmation bias?. And, to some extent, from the hadith. Even millions of hadith will not be able to give you a comprehensive method of ritual prayers, much less what to say while performing these rituals.

Neither Qoran nor hadith gives you every detail. Hadith certainly has no consistency and gives you different contradictory methods.

Now let me clarify on my agreement with you first ,then explain where "Aquimi salat" comes from and its role.

GOD said in sura Fatiha " Ihdina Al-Sirat Al-Mustaqueem". I agree Sirat Al-Mustaqueem has nothing to do with rituals .see 6151-153.
Then GOD adds in the same sura Iyyaka Naabudu,Wa Iyyaka Nastaiinu",notice how "Naabudu is one thing and Nastaiinu is a different thing.
So The Sirat Al Mustaqueem is Naabudu i.e the straight path(right conduct ,morals, good deeds...) and Nastaiinu is the "rituals/help required to keep us on the straight path like "Aquimi salat,Zakat,Sawm...
While the minimum requirement of 6;151;153 may get us saved, the Nastaiin" consolidates our "Iman" and help us stay on course.
Qoran tells us "Aquimi Salat" was given/instructed to Abraham" in turn it got passed down the generations. GOD ,in His wisdom ,knew that the best way for salat to be passed on is to be witnessed/seen done from person to person. To this day,the majority who pray salat, have seen their father/mum/uncle friend ...do it.How do you think the first instruction of "Aquimi salat" was done by the prophet and his followers? How do you think the people who "Wa ma kana Salatuhum inda Al Bayti Illa Mukaan wwa..."did it?

      My understanding.
      GOD bless you.
      Peace.

Oh in case brother Wakas pulls me up asking for evidence of "Naabudu" and "Nastaiin". from my last post in this thread. I better state my Qoranic evidence.

Naabudu" is the "Sirat Al mustaqueem" from" Wa Ani Uubuduni hada Siratun Mustaqueem" And Sirat Mustaqueem is from 6-151-153.
"Nastaiin"" is the help we require from salat,patience... from ..Wa Istaiinu Bisabri Wa Salat."

              GOD bless.
              Peace.

I honestly haven't figured it out for myself yet.

In theory I have no issues with the ritual prayer as practiced by Muslims, as it is a reasonable enough way to pray. But I am a night person and I live really far north, so praying the five prayers is ridiculously convoluted and due to how radically the times change it's actually impossible to do it as a ritual.

In the mean time I just recite al-Fatihah constantly.

                    Salaam,
Wakas has a great article on Salaat which I recommend everyone read. I read the Quran during Salaat (sitting on a desk) and then pray humbly to God after reading the Quran. Sometimes I kneel and pray.

I don't "pray" as I believe Salat is not praying.

For me, Salat is teaching to constantly remind people to keep the contract of ethics (called the Deen in Qur'an) in a safe state, i.e. remind people that the Deen is a contract of ethics between God and the people, where God keeps the nation safe if people fulfill their share of contract by respecting the ethics.

But 3 times a day is just propaganda, one time a week should be fine.

1779 in my opinion is not talking about prayer.
"Tajahud" can mean "meditation" /similar to "Dhikr" which is another way of freeing one s mind from the worries/concerns of our day.
                          GOD bless.
                          Peace.

to me the subject of solat is about being discipline.

Allah does not need anything from us but we need to be discipline and be connected to Allah in whatever we do in life.

So the two times mentioned being fajar and isyak are just to built discipline of connecting with Allah for beginning and ending the day.

Tahajjud is extra work for those who seek Allah, studying, contemplating, etc essentially disciplining ourselves to find ourselves within just like Ibrahim and the prophets.

How you wanna do it is up to you, freestyle, there is no restriction but you do it for your self and for your own development or sanity.

Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs,

                                        5116
Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good.

                                        5117
They used to sleep but little of the night,

                                        5118
And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness

Shows how important night prayer and fajr are.

To those doing ritual prayer, prove using the Quran

                                          • the concept of a "raka"
                                          • how many supposed "raka" you are to do per "prayer"
                                          • what to do in the "raka"
                                          • where the word "raka" is mentioned

I am no longer a Sunna-rejecter. See 4:59-65, 62:2-4, 3:31, 4:156, 7:157 Messenger teaches and is to be followed and obeyed. Examples of revelation received which is not in the Qur'an: 3:123-126, 33:37, 2:187, 66:3, 62:9.
