Will Smith Mr Holy Roller
-
Peace be upon you all,
I don't have sound so I can't listen to the track right now, but Will SMith and Jada Pinkett Smith have lost big points with me. They recently did an interview stating they have what they describe as an open marriage, meaning that they are allowed to have sex with anyone they want to as long as they get permission first from the other couple. This is very sad to me, they seemed to be a very good role model for the youth, African Americans in particular who have a serious problem with the family unit.

Cheers Khalil!
Dis trak is phat and a half!
I don't normally listen to rap, cos I don't usually understand what they say, but this is beautiful!
Thanks.
I love rap lol I bought a few slang dictionaries just to understand the lyrics It's hard to wax me in it, so don't step to me
I heard that Will Smith converted to islam while acting as Muhammad Ali in his movie "Ali". Did he really convert? What about this open marriage? Shame on him
Peace...

Peace,
I guess Will Smith didn't have an "open" relationship with his ex-wife. lol
Pretty tight song, and a nice album from Will Smith though...surprisingly. I still got repect for Big Will as an artist and an actor. As far as his personal life, well I don't know him and I'm not gonna judge him, leave that to God...not surprised though cuz most Hollywood relationships are a dysfunctional. The only surprising thing is they haven't gotten divorced yet. But he already went through one of those. Oh well.

I think the honesty between Will and his wife is a great value. I have being learning latey that no two snowfakes are alike, just because one's actions may look besmeerched in our eyes does not impy that their intentions are. It is more important for the youth (and anyone for that matter)to set their self aright within.
A while ago I saw a documentary on couples who had multiple partners consentfully and honestly their reationships looked more spiritually linked than those who had a 'typical' marriage.
Although, for myself I coud not have a reationship with more than one person comfortably, but thats me and that's the beauty of diversity the face is made up of various pixels.
peace,

Peace to all,
Idolfree is right. The simple fact of the matter is, adultery (this is what is being talked about) is as depraved an act as homesexuality. There are no ifs and buts.

Peace be upon you Khalil and Mozmahe,
Khalil, If it was a matter of a polygamous MARRIAGE, then I could not find fault with it, because this means that all parties have agreed to be a COMMITED FAMILY. BUt this is not what we are talking about here, what I am saying is that while Will and Jada are married, if there is anyone they are LUSTING AFTER, they only need to ask the other one for permission to go have sex with that person they are LUSTING AFTER. NO commitments , no structure, just sexual excess.
As Mozmahe stated, that is a depraved act.
Other than that, I have bog respect for Will because he has always entertained in a very "wholesome" way, no cursing on his rap albums, and very good topics on his TV show. But since he started with the movies, seems like the "glitter of this world" has him starting to stray.

Peace Mozmae and Idolfree
I do agree that the act (of adultery) was/is wrong- in my eyes, however many role models in the publics light who do lead a life with a commited partner(s) do not neccessarily have a constructive set of morales for a mind to feed upon.
I am not exactly sure how to describe it, because how one lives their married life does of course reflect their morales, but I can best get my understanding across through an example. Tupac was a very positive and helpful role model for me through out my teenage years even though he had numerous partners, his positive message to think, never give up and struggle ahead always shined through whatever dirt he was cothed in.
Also, Idolfree here is the lyrics to the song.
peace,
PS Natu and Born Again, this may help you better understand slang (there is swearing in it however so be forewarned)

Peace Khalil,
I am not talking about the person but the act. If Einstein had been a nazi I would have still considered him to be a genius and use his equations.

Thanks Khalil. I'll add that one to my short list of likeable rap tunes. As one who has been in an intense relationship or two, these lines cracked me up
"Where was Jesus when the ice was thrilling you,
Oh, he was he with me trying to keep me from killing you!"
