Study of 31:6: Spreading/upholding hadith --> Not taking the hereafter seriously

I was reading 316 carefully and made an interesting observation that many translators either miss or fail to properly convey in their translation.
316 But among people, there are those who invest their time in baseless hadith, so as to lead those without knowledge away from the path of God, making mockery of it (feminine singular.) For such there is a humiliating punishment in store.
The question is, if we read backwards from the feminine singular it, which is the first feminine singluar noun that is used? In fact it is in 314 and is "al akhira"/the hereafter. This fits perfectly since it complements the "humiliating punishment" in the hereafter.
When we read on we see
317 When Our signs are recited to him, he turns away arrogantly as if he did not hear them, as if there is deafness in his ears. So announce to him a humiliating punishment.
Indeed, they don't care about the message of The Reading serve God alone and dont accept the hadith teachings, stories of so-called "ulema," clergy, etc.

1746 We place shields over their minds, that they should not understand it, and deafness in their ears. If you mention your Lord in the Quran alone, they run away turning their backs in aversion. We are fully aware of what they are listening to when they are listening to you, and when they conspire secretly the wicked say, "You are but following a bewitched man!" See how they cite the examples for you. They have gone astray, and cannot come to the path. They said, "When we are bones and fragments, will we then be resurrected as a new creation?"
Again we can see they are averse to the hereafter. It's all connected.

And as an aside Shabbir Ahmed interpreted "it" as "Quran."

The unfortunate truth is that the one I highlighted in red is done by some Quran followers also when it comes to those hadiths. This makes me quite worried about how that would ruin the reputation of the people of Quran who reject all of Bukharism.

No, it is feminine. Cross check from 655 where it is subject of feminine verb.
