Can a women lead a congregational prayer with men and women mixed behind her?
-
I suppose I have to summarise this thread
Women can only lead a congregation prayer if all the congregation were"saints and prophets" because of the "buttock" thingy.
Men can lead any congregation because the "buttock" thingy does not arise. every member of the congregation has "praying to GOD" on their mind only.
No Qoran verses were provided to clearly establish why women cannot lead a congregation to prayer. That good logic suggestion of "praying on the beach" was nonsensical, How dare he even suggest that or "praying naked"? even if it was intended as "humour"?
May be he was suggesting to concentrate on your prayer to GOD Alone regardless of who was leading the prayer and what they were wearing!!!
So shall we try again? Why can only men lead a congregation prayer?
Perhaps not!
GOD bless you all.

Well, in Islam The World Religion, I guess you'll find the answer in some book of hadith or some sayings of sunnah. Other than that, there is no Islam. There is no system that people will agree on. There is no system outlined by the Quran, because we'll never agree on such a thing. So, the only thing remaining is to let each faction do as they wish, if they insist on congregational prayer. If you're not happy with the rules of one group, then find another group or form your own. Forget Quran-alone groups... as there will never be consensus on what the Quran alone says. To each his/her own. Even when we are instructed to not be divided in factions, we insist on finding the ultimate, pure, true system free from corruption. Well, just looking for such a system/set/package is inventing division. Systems are division. Good luck humanity. bravo

Please do not give up,at least not on GOD Alone.
I am sure with all our differences ,providing we accept each other as we are, there must be hope that at least we can live in peace with each other.
So what if your fellow human went to a synagogue,or prayed in a church,or went to a temple or did a congregation prayer behind a man or a woman or.... If they stop their wars, aggression, lording it above each other, fighting each other, hating each other, gossiping, back biting, ridiculing, claiming their religion is the truth...etc You never know, just may be , now or in 100 years or so... GOD Alone will unite them?
Anyway,brother ,GOD bless you.

today if i had to lower it every time i have to, i would be dead in a car accident or be run over by a bus because i'd be staring at the ground all the time
Wouldn't there be more of a chance of getting run over if one was NOT looking at the cars and buses - but instead looking at women?
The question posed at the start of the thread is a good one and difficult to answer relying only on the Quran - as there is nothing forbidding it - the only thing that comes to mind is that of decency by men and women. I personally think Men should lead men and women should lead women - this is my personal opinion - and I would welcome more places of congregational salat for women only - as well as more for us Quran-alone men - or even two equal sections of the same building for men and women. At least Husbands and wives can visit these places together.
Then again, I often perform the Salat with my wife - no one leads the Salat - we just perform it together... in a congregation of two - connecting to our Creator (or at least trying really hard!).

Please do not give up,at least not on GOD Alone.Actually, what I'm taking a break from is religion and scholastic and intellectual endeavors. I am moving towards peace, through an inner path. Ironically, I keep feeling that the more you get involved in religion, the more distant you get from The Creator. Religion becomes theory, and intellectual exercise. It doesn't matter if it is so called God-alone... it is still intellectual.
I'm now more interested in experience, something that will change you from the inside out, and not just philosophy that does nothing more than add data to your brain.Peace O0

Fair enough brother zulf.
Keep in touch though, unless you take a break from all things to do /remind you of some system.I am satisfied inside me,even though I discuss with friends ,I am not looking for anything apart from strengthening my relationship with my Creator.
I do not profess to have an answer for others. Each one of us need to seek/ponder or otherwise how they live their life and why.It is difficult for me to keep myself on task sometimes .. My aim is to stay connected to my Lord 24/7, while trying to do the day to day tasks of living my life.
I am very fortunate of late that GOD has given me a circle of family and friends that care about each other and enjoy each other s company . That has given me a positivity to try and project that love/joy to others.
I thank my Lord for it.
GOD bless you.

Whether not you think salat is a ritual prayer, let us start with this Can you provide one verse telling women directly to attend or uphold salat, attend the masjid, or that they are obliged to do it 2, 3, 5 or however many times you think salat should be done per day?
