In fact all the evolution could go there aswell if you want to save on a section.

The paranormal section may be warranted on the other hand.

ALSO... the CHRISTIANITY AND THE QURAN section could also be changed to just CHRISTIANITY.

That way all the posts about Jesus and the posts from our friends Apple Pie and Albion who discuss the concept of Christianity as the major point may be moved there.

In fact some of the posts in the Quran Study section by Apple Pie which have Christianity as the thrust should ALREADY go there in my opinion. For example the Surah 89 Jesus and the resurrection stuff.

    Let's get it moving

    Regards.

I feel there's too many categories and sections as it is.

I agree with you. It needs to be more streamlined. I'll also move stuff to its rightful place from now on, when I can.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

        Peace all,

I wonder if we can open up a new section/category where poeple here can solely contribute to anecdotic stories that are thought provoking and wonderfully enchanting to reflect upon. As an example, here's one of my favourites

        TWO SICK MEN

        ANECDOTE
Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room?s only window.

The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. And every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his room-mate all the things he could see outside the window.

The man in the other bed began to live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world out-side. The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.

As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.

One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn?t hear the band he could see it in his mind?s eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.

Then unexpectedly, a sinister thought entered his mind. Why should the other man alone experience all the pleasures of seeing everything while he himself never got to see anything? It didn?t seem fair.

At first thought, the man felt ashamed. But as the days passed and he missed seeing more sights, his envy eroded into resentment and soon turned him sour. He began to brood and he found himself unable to sleep. He should be by that window! That thought, and only that thought now controlled his life.

Late one night as he lay staring at the ceiling, the man by the window began to cough. He was choking on the fluid in his lungs. The other man watched in the dimly lit room as the struggling man by the window groped for the button to call for help. Listening from across the room he never moved, never pushed his own button that would have brought the nurse running in.

In less than five minutes the coughing and choking stopped, along with that the sound of breathing. Now there was only silence, deathly silence.

The following morning the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths. When she found the lifeless body of the man by the window, she was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take it away. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone. Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the world outside. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it all himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate since he had described such wonderful things outside this window. The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She said, ?Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you.?

        EPILOGUE
You can interpret the story in any way you like. But one moral stands out
There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations. Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled. If you want to feel rich, just count all of the things you have that money can?t buy.

Perhaps the above can be moved to its proper category as suggested? Any takes on this one?

          Peace Danish,

I don't have a link to a nicely written version of it but I like the story of the husband and wife who wanted to buy each other something special. The wife wanted to buy the husband a silver chain for his pocket watch; and the husband wished to buy the wife a silver hair comb.

To fulfil their desires, the wife goes out and sells her long hair to finance the purchase of the silver watch chain, and the man sells his watch to purchase the hair comb.

Moral Don't sell your watch for your wife!

The wife ends up better off - at least her hair will grow back so she can use the hair comb. The man just has a meagre chain to show for it!

          Regards.

            Peace,

Christianity forum and the Science forum have been corrected (by dropping the 'Quran' from teh title).

I am with Zenje against the creation of any new forums since the list is already quite lengthy...However, tidying up on what exists is always a welcome suggestion.

              Peace,

The latest changes have been great.

Can I make a few more simple suggestions to streamline the forum.

I had suggested a PARANORMAL section but I see a solution without creating anything new.

If JINN & MAGIC can be changed to

              JINN & THE PARANORMAL

then it would be much better and cover much more than just magic.

There is a MATRIMONY and a MARRIAGE AND DIVORCE section. Perhaps these can be united.

In the reading SALAT and ZAKAT are almost invariably mentioned together almost as two parts of the same broader concept.

Since the ZAKAT section has only had 7 posts in its whole history - perhaps it would be better to merge the SALAT and ZAKAT sections also with a relevant change in title and description.

              Regards.

I suggest to replace "hijab/headscarf" by another title for example "social traditions" and in it we can put hijab/headscarf threads and other subject like Circumcision, excision, polygamy...etc

                      peace sister Marie,

I dont think there is a need to change the title of a section, when - 'Circumcision, excision, polygamy...etc' - can safely be put under "today's Islam" along with hijab/headscarf, thus eliminating one unecessary section, imho.
