    Hi,

    Here are my questions

    1. How one can have command over all disciplines of knowledge? Does it contain all types of knowledge?
    2. Why we should seek to have command over ALL disciplines of knowledge?
    3. What word is translated as "Eternal".

I am not talking about any dictionary references from you. I have seen your other posts already and have a hint that how you pick words and their meanings. I would appreciate answers to my above questions. After that I will discuss further InShaAllah!

    Regards,

I have edited the translation based upon suggestion of friends and review of language resources as following.
      Surah 11

One who doesn?t engage in worship derives pleasure from showing the extreme and lasting concern for sufferings or misfortune of others.

      Surah 12

The approval for not engaging in worship is to achieve the command over all the disciplines of knowledge,

      Surah 13

Due to the extreme, lasting concern for sufferings or misfortunes of others,

      Surah 14

This has been an eternal mode of conduct for people.

      Surah 15

You beware we are excited about it also you beware we are seekers of knowledge.

      Surah 16

It guides us from fleeing the path which is original, straight, undeviating and unceasing.

      Surah 17

Those fleeing the path, if you were to scrutinize them; it would be nothing but cause of anger for the confounded, perplexed and unable to see right path.

        Hi,

        Here are my questions

        1. How one can have command over all disciplines of knowledge? Does it contain all types of knowledge?

Answer 1. Just like the Muslims of its golden era had it. Learned from everywhere and investigated and furthered all disciplines of knowledge. Just like in recent times west did it. Learned from Arabs and Muslims and have furthered the knowledge by investigating.

        1. Why we should seek to have command over ALL disciplines of knowledge?

Answer 2. Because this is the right path and thing to do. This is what early Muslims did and hence were at the top of the world. This is what was commanded to them in Quran.

        1. What word is translated as "Eternal".

Yaum, in Arabic really means time in absolute sense. Which means it has no beginning or end. Therefore, Yaum is translated as eternal to reflect its real meanings. Its meaning as day and night what we know as day is a conventionally accepted meaning. Its meaning from dawn to sunset as day is its legal meanings.

As far as I know Time is in Arabic. Furthermore, I believe that Only Allah is eternal. Time is His creation.

          And who legalizes the meanings?

Hence, a command over broad knowledge base is commanded and emphasized. is used for an appointed. You really need to understand these concepts and how these relate and differ from each other. Following links may help you to accomplish this goal.

The one who shamelessly claims he can bring a surah like one Allah has revealed and strives to change the words of Allah and is deluded into thinking he can give full explanation of the Book with an interpretation he pulls out of his own ass should
without hesitation put his ego to the sword and "kill himself".

Even you meant it figuratively, the message would still be unrepresented.

Take it how you want it.
                        I despise people as such.
They are the cause of the derision by the sectarians.
                        Those are hypocrites among us.
They claim to have faith but they are boastful and arrogant and seek their own interpretation and recognition for their deluded uniqueness.
Uff to all of them. Al-Mushrik

I don't like these hypocrites as well but still telling them "kill thyself" won't make it better. Simply expose them and they will fell the "burn".

At current times meanings can be selected or if you prefer term legalization, it is done based upon context of meaning of other words and verses and bigger understanding of of message of Quran

All religions and followers of religions keep coming forwards with theodasies to explain idiosyncrasies of their held beliefs. Instead of thinking that their held basic beliefs might be altogether wrong.

                                  1. There is never a description of a sentence called elliptical sentence in Classic Arabic . If anyone knows, please share a reference?
                                  2. Furthermore, even in English an elliptical sentence can be written only if the information is provided in preceding part. As an example, "Mazhar, likes to create theodasies, so do all his followers". The second part of this sentence "so do all his followers", is an example of elliptical sentence . There is no information in the Quran prior to this sentence, 11. This is the first sentence of the book.
                                  3. No sentence in Classic Arabic begins with a prepositional phrase. Which if traditional explanation as given is accepted is going to be the case.

The only sane Syntactical explanation is that is a word from root Ba-Siin-Miim and together are possessive phrase or Murrakab-e-Idhafee.

                                  Regards,

If so from root Ba-Siin-Miim, then what type of word is this . A noun, verbal noun, or verb?
                                      What it signifies?
What is its role - function in the sentence?

Is it not a sentence beginning with prepositional phrase? And what type of sentence is it?

                                        http//haqeeqat.pk/English%20Tafsir%20e%20Haqeeqat/00.Arabic%20Text/2.10a.gif

When I said start, I meant the subject of the sentence. So you believe in your example this the subject of the sentence in the verse?

If so from root Ba-Siin-Miim, then what type of word is this . A noun, verbal noun, or verb?
                                          What it signifies?
What is its role - function in the sentence?

It is a verbal noun, together with Idhafa phrase and Subject of the sentence.
