Happy to be Here

Hello everyone.
I've been browsing Free-Minds for some time now, but only registered on the forum yesterday.
I was an atheist for my entire life until two months ago. Before then, Islam had intrigued me because of the misconceptions surrounding it; so, I went out to see whether or not they were true (unsurprisingly, many of them were false). It wasn't long before I started reading into the Qur'an and Islam, which compelled me to become a Muslim. I only spent one week as a Sunnite before discovering the lack of necessity of the Hadiths by reading into the bio of Wakas (whom I am deeply thankful of!). Since then, I have been reading the Qur'an to develop my understanding of it everyday.
I am in Australia, however, and to my knowledge there is a very small Muslim population (~400,000), presupposing a tiny "Quran-only" Muslim population. Thus, I have had some hardships with family and friends, having to be, sadly, overly secretive about my faith, and finding others whom I can discuss God and the Qur'an with has been near-impossible in person.
But now I am here, and very happy to be able to participate in communicating with like-minded people, followers of God alone.
Thank you.

Hello to you too and welcome to the forum,
There isn't many aussies here though there are a few.. mostly inactive but if you message them they will prob respond. We usually have a meet-up in Syd over the summer holidays as everyone has busy schedules and/or families.
We live in a multicultural society and there may be many like yourself - secretive of their views so it's hard to actually gauge potential discussions. The internet is great I guess it provides niche forums where society may lack.
