    Hi everyone,

The words "al-akhirati" have been translated as "the hereafter". I take this to mean after doomsday. However, PRL says that al-akhirati kan mean

    Alif-Kha-Ra = go backwards, retreat/recede/retire, hold back/delay/postpone/defer, last/back part of a thing .
    Another, other, 2nd.

    No mention of "The hereafter".

I was wondering, is it possible to translate "Al-Akhirati" to "The recoil/recompense"? The words seem to be compatible with the first part of the list provided by PRL go backwards, retreat/recede/retire,

Im doing some research on heaven, hell, doomsday, hereafter etc. Any help would be appreciated.

    Nadeem.

      Peace Nadeem,

My suggestion would be to collect all verses where al-akhirati is mentioned and then put it in perspective. I seem to find no intended correlation of al-akhirati to mean recoil/recompense when contextually understood. Perhaps I could be wrong but lets just take an example of the verse 6833

Such was the requital. But the retribution of the Hereafter (al-akhirati) is far worse, if they only knew.

Good that you bought this up and hope to get more feedback from your end and others.

            Hi Heart -)

            Thanks for asking -)

My research was going great, until I was overwhelmed by other things I had to get done.

As for now, I'm researching what a kafir is. And thru that research I'm also learning a few things about the akhir. But I havent categozied those findings yet, so I can't list them up yet. But I'll try to categorize them and share them with you. As for nowI'm leaning towards the "state of mind" interpretation. One verse that I've read that gives basis to this, is the verse one guy is instantly admitted to paradise when he submits.

                    Peace be upon you,

I translate it as "the Ending", which is in line with that Enquirer states as "consequences". The end is the EFFECT of the Cause, and life is about Cause and Effects. We shape our behavior to do the right things(causes) so that we REAP the right Effects at the END.

Not really after the doomsday, it actually means the doomsday itsself, on that day they will be no more time, that is why it means the end, and the day itself is called Al Yawm Al Akhar

                        Cheers
