You actually think that link is credible? Seems very poor to me.

I started praying again, but I still am not convinced.

Mash'Allah keep doing it and follow this verse

      Al-Ma'idah 5101

O you who have believed, do not ask about things which, if they are shown to you, will distress you. But if you ask about them while the Qur'an is being revealed, they will be shown to you. Allah has pardoned that which is past; and Allah is Forgiving and Forbearing.

If you read Quran translations you will get questions so it's better to keep reading it in beautiful Arabic language you will have peace in your .

      Peace

I wonder, is it Modern Standard Arabic?

I don't understand your question. let's say I understand Arabic and from the link NewFenzy sent
means tell your wives, not tell the community
to it means wives or women of the prophet, it was translated to "O you weaker segments of Nabi?s community"
Hey, I wish that translation was true, but unfortunately, pushing it there a bit

I meant that the Arabic in Quran is Classical Arabic, not Modern Standard Arabic.

I had left Islam many times over, then decided to leave mainstream islam and follow Quran alone, but there are still many questions unanswered.
such as, why would God allow Mohammed to have so many wives and go even further to tell the umma in the Quran that he can have any woman if she desires to marry him. why would God come down with a surah regarding adoption right when Mohammed wanted to marry his adopted son's wife?
I started praying again, but I still am not convinced.

Apologetics in this thread demonstrate how dead inside and hypocritical idol worshippers here are hail

There is nothing about Uncle Mo in the Quran, except for word "muhammad" found in but a 4 times in the Quran out of 6k+ verses in a whole book. Surely "the greatest" prophet of all time could at least have his name spelled properly with his father's name/biography included, which is done with Isa who is cleared ibn Miryem, unlike your idol. It is clear Muhammad is not mentioned once in the Quran, the verses containing such word may as well mean commendable or some sort of. They are taken out of context, no two verses in a row explain his history, tell nothing out of him, they just appear in a falsified translation as out of the blue.

Similar how muslim apologists claim to find muhammad in the Old Testment by selecting a random word in the Song of Songs, similar to this it seems that a no-namer or a religious group supporting him claimed that he is the one that strange book mentions when they noticed 4 unrelated words in 4 different chapters, so they created a false prophet to unite the Southern Arabia under a newly created warmongering empire.

Surely there is always something filthy about this figure muhammad. Every sound-minded and adequate individual notices this, there is always some fishy scent surrounding his name. The hadith show him as an arrogant maniac and a warlord, who refused sadaqa because he was too arrogant to accept the donations yet was a first one to grab a gift among his buddies in crime.

There are a few non-hadith sources, both of the early 7th century, and both depicting him as a warlord and a criminal, also as a false prophet

? and in January, they took the word for their lives (did) Emesa , and many villages were ruined with killing by Mhammad and a great number of people were killed and captives from Galilee as far as Bth and those Arabs pitched camp beside and we saw everywhe and oive oil which they brought and them. And on the tth of May went Srius]... cattle from the vicinity of Emesa and the Romans chased them and on the tenth the Romans fled from the vicinity of Damascus many some 10,000. And at the turn ar the Romans came; and on the twentieth of August in the year nseven there gathered in Gabitha the Romans and great many people were ki omans, ome fifty thousand

AG 945, indiction VII On Friday, 4 February, at the ninth hour, there was a battle between the Romans and the Arabs of Mhammad in Palestine twelve miles east of Gaza. The Romans fled, leaving behind the patrician YRDN (Syr. BRYRDN), whom the Arabs killed. Some 4000 poor villagers of Palestine were killed there, Christians, Jews and Samaritans. The Arabs ravaged the whole region.
AG 947, indiction IX The Arabs invaded the whole of Syria and went down to Persia and conquered it; the Arabs climbed mountain of Mardin and killed many monks there in Kedar and Benth. There died the blessed man Simon, doorkeeper of Qedar, brother of Thomas the priest.

In the anti-Jewish polemic the Teaching of Jacob, a dialogue between a recent Christian convert and several Jews, one participant writes that his brother "wrote to saying that a deceiving prophet has appeared amidst the Saracens". Another participant in the Doctrina replies about Muhammad "He is deceiving. For do prophets come with sword and chariot?, ?ou will discover nothing true from the said prophet except human bloodshed".

These are all among a few non-muslim, 7th century sources depicting (Y)our majesty. Other than that there are tons of the hadith virtually NONE of which portray him as a good hearted, wise, tolerant, tranquil, sound, compassionate individual. None in the whole Bukhari series. On the contrary, he is portrayed as a maniac, warlord, arrogant, greedy piece of work to say the least.

Now before anyone opens his/her mouth to make another worthless apologetic claim, as you do in this thread, please be prepared to answer the following questions

              1. Who is Mohammed?

              2. Why does his ALLEGED name, found 4 times in the book, which contains more than 6 thousand verses, lacks any other characteristics of his personality or historiocity, compared to Isa ibn Miryem?

              3. Which verse tells explicitly that 'this' book is designated for this particular individual?

              4. Why are there no descriptions of the "prophet's" nature, lifeestyle, historiocity, biography in the book, which supposes to be revealed to him AND includes verses specifically to guide this particular person?

              5. Why if the Gospels is fabricated, they could not make a warlord, a sexual maniac and a murderer out of Isa ibn Miryem? What stopped them? Please give a coherent reply to this one, I need to see your level of argumentation.

              6. Why they made such out of the "prophet Mo"?

              7. How do you know about his biography when you start apologetics about his way of living as in this thread? What sources do you use, for instance, to back this up

On the other hand it is surprising that he had childrn only with his first wife. He was therefore not sterile at that time, so may be as some people suggested his wives were above all spiritual compannions and in fact to that precisely points the line which has been in the forum lately regarding why his woves would be called mothers of the believers.
              ?

Let's embrace "open mindedness" of the "free" minds.

Very well. A coinage with clear Jesus's symbols on it with a term muhammad TOGETHER WITH an certificate of authentity of a coin would be nice to see. The amount of links do not matter without a factual evidence.

50.33 O Prophet, indeed We have made lawful to you your wives to whom you have given their due compensation and those your right hand possesses from what Allah has returned to you and the daughters of your paternal uncles and the daughters of your paternal aunts and the daughters of your maternal uncles and the daughters of your maternal aunts who emigrated with you and a believing woman if she gives herself to the Prophet if the Prophet wishes to marry her, only for you, excluding the believers. We certainly know what We have made obligatory upon them concerning their wives and those their right hands possess, in order that there will be upon you no discomfort. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful."

In fact there is nothing special for the prophet here. If you compare this with 4.22-23 and other ayas, God is allowing Muhammad what He allows everybody else except for the part of the believing woman who offers herself should he wish to marry her.

One thing that occurs to me is might be with the women I guess if a woman were to offer herself to other another man, he should comply with some things which the Prophet would not have to. I am not sure about that.

If somebody sees any other difference between what is said here for the prophet and what is said for anybody else, please point them out. God says that He says so, so that the prophet should nto encounter problems, it is understood as the prophet he is for his function as a prophet which the way God addresses him and stresses that in that capacity, not of course for his own personal private sake.

On the other hand the part about "if he wishes to marry her", seems to me too categorical, the verb is not "arada al nikah" or or a more direct formulation but rather a remote thing, a X form verb.
Also there is the prohibition to marry any of his partners after his death which is only for him, and that I guess is not for his particular enjoyment, since he will be dead.

Also it is not that he is being allowed poligamy and others, whether men or women, are not being allowed. Poligamy is another matter and that is not the question in this case whether for goo or bad.

And also watch the formulation "inna ahlalna laka azwajaka". Why should God state that his "wives" are permitted to him. I ask myself are his azwaj really his wives or are they some other kind of partners, which if he wishes he can actually yankih (marry).

There is a whole lot to get at in the Qur'an yet. Through history it has been forced to apear under a certain lense which does not allow a clear or distinct view and we are still there. We stick to our preconceptions of Qur'an and of life and we won't see what we do not expect to see.

                    Salaam

Yeah, on a traditional Hadith influence which makes it questionable.

Not only hadith. Every culture, every community has preconceptions. We function that way and it has its good parts and its bad ones. Sometimes preconceptions are defended to death, like islamic hadic or bible hadith, or anything that seems to carry authority. And sometimes those preconception are in the service of particular interests, but sometimes we are not conscious of them, which is when it is worst, because if you don't see them you won't feel the need to examine them.

                            Salaam

. why would God come down with a surah regarding adoption right when Mohammed wanted to marry his adopted son's wife?
I started praying again, but I still am not convinced.

Because to inform/remind that adopted son is not your real son.
you can adopt sons and daughters and if you want to marry to them you can also marry.

                              Al-Ahzab 334

Allah has not made for a man two hearts in his interior. And He has not made your wives whom you declare unlawful your mothers. And he has not made your adopted sons your sons. That is your saying by your mouths, but Allah says the truth, and He guides to the way.

As Allah has created man and woman he understand best their individual physical and psychological requirements. Physically and psychologically men and women are not created the same. Man is created by nature physically polygamous and women by nature as monogamous. Women have psychological need of security and to appear beautiful physically and psychologically to their spouses and other select group of Mehrems. Human beings will be most fulfilled and satisfied when their physical and psychological needs are fulfilled. Allah is the best one to set rules in this regards as He knows His creations best. That is the reason we see statistically much more instances of men infidelity compared to women as man's physical needs are different than woman's. Women are prone to infidelity in much fewer instances than men and mostly when their need to appear beautiful is not fulfilled by their spouses or there is some psychological problem.

Regarding a couple of Ayats e.g 3337 and 3350, an explanation is provide in below link

That women are naturally monogamous and males poligamous is nonsense. People will do whatever you allow them to and make them think that it is their right normal or that they can get away with it. That is not poligamous or monogamous nature, but abusive nature which we all have.

Normally the number of females and males is balanced so normally and naturally no room for more oligamy of one sex than other. If you admit that then you have to admit that both sexes must be poligamous.

That is th e classical nonsense with which still some muslims seek to perpetuate rights which the Qur'an does not provide for at all.

Poliamy is nto prohibited int he Qur'an, neithe to males nor to females, but the norm is monogamy.

Please, no more that comfortable assumption that "nature" whatever that is, makes allowances for the whims of males but not of females.

Allah is not shy of the truth. No need to make new interpretation to please peoples.

Indeed, those who disbelieve - it is all the same for them whether you change it to spiritual or physical - they will not believe.

Does Quran have instructions for women to have multiple Nikahs?

Where are your instructions for multiple men' nikah. 4.3 is not valid even if it has been misued to purport poligamy. So forget that one, it is a fraud. And even so where are the instructions there for multiples nikah of one amn at the same time with several women.

Don't you think that it has already been palyed around enough with the Qur'an to entrench certain ridiculous privileges?

What does it bother you whether there are or there are no isntructions for this ot that kind of multiple nikah. You are not olbiged to enter into one if you do not want. Nobody is, either to enter a poligamous marriage or a single marriage. So why so much militancy?

Why are some men so militant with their purported privileges. Do they loose an arm or a leg or something if women get some licences like they take for granted for themselves?

                                          @ quran about multiple marriages

although its an event of war was going on and the purpose of those nikka is to support orphans and save women from becoming a public property thats y that aya was for specific people at somewhere in past but not a forceful thing author advise them not to mary if u cant do justice among wives/kids then stay on just one

i dnt think at this time space this aya need to apply on us

                                          @ history of societies

as we see its a bitter truth from dawn of humankind we see men having different partners/wives at same time including muslims as well as ancient people and intrestingly women accept and share their men due to different compromises as they see they cant change it so accept it specially when the figures like prophets do multiple marriages then women think becoz its the nature of man so accept it as it is

but from last hundred years when women are in power now things are taking uturn unfortunately society didnt accept it even no women want to share two men ? thats somewhere all this thing stuck up

man cant tell what is the nature of women same like women cant tell whats the nature of man as we see both males and females got different habits and taste and both do same when they want to do it

so saying that women got monogomus nature is not correct same like saying men have polygamous nature

question remain why we experienced women accpet sharing their husband but we never see two man share one women ?

sisters can think about this and lot of new perceptions will come in their mind
