Messages and ayyas

There seems to be some ideas about what constitues a message. It seems that most people think that a message must be some speech or some writing.
But many of the stories of people int he Qur'an with quotes or without them are not written or spoken messages, but rather behaviour and events.Some people, in order to acknowledge a particular person as messenger or prophet require that the person be given some speech or writing in order to consider them messengers and leave aside, what explanations God gives and the content of everything transpired from those persons and their relationship with God. In a way, according to that understanding, the best messengers finally would be the more talkative or the ones who are counted as the best producers of written stuff. In that, and no matter how they feel about the question, they would be giving, by very, very, very far, the highest ranking (as rankings are considered) to the prophet who transmitted the Qur'an, simply because there is nothing like it or coming even close. Every other written document is very, very, very far. And in fact the Qur'an is the revelation that brings back to us the events(messages) in which many of God's messengers were involved and their behaviour.
Some also bring ayyas, or some events in which they were involved were ayyas and some are ayyas themselves.
So what is an ayya? Is it something that is pointed out to us just for the heck of it, or is it something we should something about?

Semantic frame Sign
Sign is defined as an object, event or phenomenon whose presence or occurrence indicates the existence, presence or occurrence of something else, the relationship being asymmetric.
Phenomenon is a fact or situation that is observed to exist or happen, especially one whose cause or explanation is in question.
Sign is the Indicator which exists as an indication of another's existence or another phenomenon, the Indicated.

It has in it an element of news. It is neither synonym nor synonymous to which is derived from Root that denotes such mark, representation, symbol, or figure about which it is already known as to what it features - portrays. The relationship between Indicator and Indicated in is that of symbolization or iconicity.

In the case of Meriem and her son, the Ayat I see is the example to mankind of pure devotion to GOD Alone.Meriem and her son are the best example to us of how to live your life dedicated to the "business" of GOD. They both devoted their whole life in the service of our creator.
Indeed they were an Ayat to all of us. The best example there is to find.
One can say Noah, Abraham and the prophets devoted part or even most of their life to GOD. Meriem and her son dedicated all their lives for GOD Alone.

As I see it, an ayya, if we want to benefit from it, forces us to thought, to search, to go deeper. It is not like an order or a worded message. Those we just have to obey, with an ayya we have to think and explore, at least with many of them, as to what or why we should think or how and why we should behave.
