3.7. is a long aya and it explains how we should take those ayas that make us ask questions from ourselves and from God. There are questions that are plain and others are not and may be take some living to be able to extract from them some wisdom.
On the other hand it does not say that nobody can know anything about them, but that their full import at all times is only known to God. The word used is "ta'wiil", which means a full knowledge of all their import and possibilities. That does not mean that people who honestly ponder cannot ge anything at all out of them.
Those are fertile ayas, from which we can extract wisdom but are not categorical ayas where we may say this means this and only this and just this. All thoughts that are source of further learning are always like that, they present many possibilities of development and of acquiring deeper undertstanding. But they have the danger if we are not bsolutely honest with ourselves, of becoming a source of delusion and misuse and of creating strife with others, precisely because all their imort is not equally obvious to absolutely all people but depends on the degree of honesty and sound reasoning of each reader or user.
See that at the end of the aya it says none will grasp the message except those of sound reason.

He is the One who has revealed to you the Book. Out of it there are verses that are
• Muhkamat (of naturally established meaning, logical, with proofs and evidences), which are the principal/consistent verses of the Book (Why don't they research the (interpretations and translations of the) Quran? Don't they realize that if it(s interpretations and translations) was from someone other than Allah/Truth/Sunnatullah/Nature/Logical, they would find many discrepancies in it. (482)),
• and some others are Mutashabihat (whose definite meanings are still unknown, without proofs and evidences, "they would find many discrepancies in it".
Those with sickness in their hearts (nonsense) follow what is open to (unnatural) interpretation in it, desiring conflict, seeking its inner/own/personal meaning ("Those with sickness in their hearts, it adds defilement to their defilement, and they die kuffar. 9125".
No one knows (can proves) its inner/own/personal meaning but Allah (Sunnatullah, LordLaw of Nature, Logical, Naturally... "We/Way of Allah/Sunnatullah/Nature/LordLaw of Nature/Logic are responsible for its interpretation. (7519)")
Those firmly rooted in knowledge (in Logic and Natural Law) say, "We have iman in it(s interpretation methodology... "We/Way of Allah/Sunnatullah/Nature/LordLaw of Nature/Logic are responsible for its interpretation. (7519)). All of it is from our LordLaw (of Nature / is Logical)."
But only people of intelligence (Logic / Naturalist) pay heed (of its true interpretation methodology... ie. "No one can proves its inner meaning but Allah/Sunnatullah/Nature/Natural/EcoLogic".

My dear Huruf,and My dear Mehdi Ibrahim, I appreciate your style and knowledge.To me,Aya says,---(only God knows) but u say people having solid knowledge may also know,this I am talking about only--Mutashabihaat---and not ---Muhakamaat---so please again help me and clarify,thanks.I have, many moons back, seen a book in Urdu showing a list of Muhakamat and Mutashabhaat--!!? Have u too seen such a book? ad is this bok available on line?As u explained, many others laso ave explained,but no one gives just a few ayats ,which are Muh. and Muta.please give me just few say 4 or 5 Nos. of ayat from both catagories ,this willhelp many others who still do not know how to sort out ayats from both catagories,I take u well entrenched who has dug deep into this aya,

I wss speaking only about the mutashabihaat and what I said was that only God knows absolutely everything about any of those mutashbihaat, but that people with sound reason may know something, more or less depending on their level of understanding and vision. God knows absolutely everything or any aya, but people, depending on their lights may know a lot or a little, but not absolutely everything.

Therefore, only LOGIC/NATURAL interpretation methodology knows/proves the Mutashabihat.

039023 Allah has sent down the best statement a consistent Book wherein is reiteration. The skins shiver therefrom of those who fear their Lord; then their skins and their hearts relax at the remembrance of Allah. That is the guidance of Allah by which He guides whom He wills. And one whom Allah leaves astray - for him there is no guide.

verse 37 says that quran contains some verses whose meanings are known only to God.Well, if so,then why are these verses mentioned in quran-??Will some one clarify?thanks to all.

Yes? I do agree with the verse 307? not everything is within our grasp?
For example verses like 1701? it was known by the people of Mohamed when it was revealed or not I am not aware.. but strongly with intent telling you no one can tell what is Masjid Al Aqsa with absolute truth? They can explain verse to fit the meaning but they cant say the place? Even Masjid Al Haram? Can anyone clearly say where it?s location only using quran.. But it was not mystery when it was revealed? But some verses in quran would have been mystery for the people of mohamed and it is not mystery for us anymore or the people to come in the future? Quran is living book..
Chapter 53 and some details in it.. and even small chapters which purely in style ?. A Person?s name is mentioned as Zul Kafila.. Do you know why his name is included in quran without explaining who he is? We can?t argue why he is included? what is the benefit for us by inclusion of his name only? It?s the way of God? Yes.. some can be understood by researching a lot.. but in the end it will be his or her personal understanding and not become a concerted meaning of everyone.? but some are beyond the reach of understanding?.
Such things are not clear but we believe all together..
Reason to mention certain verses and not make it clear with absolute clarity to say by everyone that this is what it is mentioned here by this verse is the will of God.. May be He wants to guide and misguide people from Quran itself by the way they look at it?? can we take for granted that everyone who reads quran will be guided? everyone who memorized quran is guided? Absolutely not?
37 is crystal clear that everything in quran is not straightforward? but there are majority of verses which are plain and simple?.Even such verses people twist, so pointless to state about hidden verses.. Don?t you notice the pattern of hadiths if you have ever read? all the major hadiths are written to verses which are not clear with lovely infusions of fancy words and stories? needless to say though, for everything there is hadith?

It needs to be seen that does the arrangement make sense and can be referenced distinctly.
The first step is to determine the flow of information and accordingly organize the book into parts - chapters and chapters into sub-parts with distinct topics that concatenate facts in perfect sequence and chronological order. The concatenation, consistence. and contiguity reflect the superb organization of a book. It aids the reader's cognitive capability in gradually raising his level of enlightenment as it keeps building the background knowledge.
It is our common knowledge that the entire Existence has two realms one Realm that is within the reach of direct observation while the other Realm is not. Who can be the best Author of a book that encompasses time-space for which reason it can be personified as ever-living? Obvious answer is that the best Author is He Who is

Manual also contains instructions for its upkeep, maintenance and troubleshooting when problem arises. Man is perhaps the finest and top of the line "Product" ever created. Man has the best of existing machines. Man once created is however a self developing and operating sentient.
Not only the title of the Book that suggests its ambit as encompassing the knowledge of space-time, but also its stature as the Manual - User's Guide for audience reveals that it has a binary structure containing information and guidance for the person as well as of his environ.

on the merits of book its interesting to note this book metaphors are not just metaphors but a hint to seek/investigate about it. in other words a format which is open for interpretation at any TIME by mumtiple theories. ( REAL purpose for this phenomenon) only known to God.
i remember a BOOK in which ?YOU choose ur own adventure? with different options availaible at different situation by YES or NO decision every decision ends up with different results. may b that idea drived from a book in which u are FREE to interprate some of the MUlTIPLE meanings/metaphors/scientific/historic verses etc.
thats why author challenged at different events for working on that book.
as a result people start easing the read by different methods easy for refferencing like numbering, vocal marks, interpretation, grammer, everything was there a lot for everyone to learn.( along with still earliest models present on earth for research). which make it easy for leanrer to research.about the mumtiple meanings i have example thread hope so it convey the meanings what i m saying.
