You can recognize the Arabic letters well enough to recite the Quran fluently. You can recognize the roots of words and can look them up in a dictionary.
But you can't have a conversation in a Arabic with a native speaker.Option 5

Merhaba ) finally my first post after only reading different threads
I chose first option, my first language is Turkish but I do know English, although I learned the Arabic alphabet and how to read simple surahs as a child I do not recognize the letters and terms anymore so I rely on translations.

Angleterre = French for England, I was joking trying to see if you know French
i dunno french but the word u used i know used for england. lot of other words like britan, brittania, bartania, inglea , inglistan etc

Can speak Arabic fluently but can't read or write in the language and it is my first language.

I can read and write arabic (but very slowly), also learning to communicate on A1-A2 basis. I know most of the important qur'anic words and some common words, all of the Suras and Ayats i memorized i also know the meaning and translation. Im going to Jordan soon to train my arabic skills and to visit Petra. God willing.
My first language is German, second are English and Russian.

Being able to read Arabic and understand the language is not a guarantee you can understand the Qur'an. If that is so, then why do we have Christians arabs, they read Arabic, they understand Arabic Arabic is their mother tongue and yet they fail to grasp the message in the Qur'an

As for those who disbelieve, there is deafness in their ears, and they are blind to it. These will be called from a place far away."

So would it be weird if I PM you? I see it as normal, other people have PMeed me on here too...I don't feel comfortable stating my location publicly because there may be crazy people, anyone can read public forums.
