    Peace,

From my own understanding, God is not within His creation. He is like nothing else too. This is just the way I happen to understand the subject.

If you believe He is omnipresent, can you please mention some proof from the Qur'an to back this up? If you do not,can you also please grant some proof from the Qur'an to back this up?

'Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp, the lamp is within glass, the glass as if it were a pearly star lit from a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire. Light upon light. Allah guides to His light whom He wills. And Allah presents examples for the people, and Allah is Knowing of all things.' 2435

I always understood 'Allah is the light' to mean God is the guidance of the heavens and the earths- everything that is 'light'/ pure- I always understood this metaphorically. I always thought I can't literally think 'God is the light' because that would equate Him to His creation which would be shirk. If He is the LITERAL light, then He is also sunlight for example (I believe sunlight is the creation of God)? If God is the light- it's like saying He's the guide?

Also notice when it says 'the example of His light', it's as if God is not literally the light but if He says He is the light of the heavens and the earth then it's probably meant metaphorically because, 'Allah guides to His light whom He wills'...well then is 'His light' literally God or is it perhaps God's 'wisdom/ guidance/ straight/ right path'?

    Also bonus question
Is God physically larger than the universe? I have always thought that He is larger than the universe although not necessarily made of matter but whatever the nature of God is (probably something beyond our human comprehension), I have always assumed that He is literally larger than the universe.

What is generally omnipresent..... "present or having an effect everywhere at the same time"

God physically not necessary to be everywhere to have His effect.... But He is watching everything... He knows the last and future.... without having the effect of such... He can't do.... So God has the extreme feature to be present everywhere with His power....
For example verse... 587 " Have you not considered that Allah knows what is in the heavens and what is on the earth? There is in no private conversation three but that He is the fourth of them, nor are there five but that He is the sixth of them - and no less than that and no more except that He is with them wherever they are. Then He will inform them of what they did, on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed Allah is, of all things, Knowing""

This is a perfect verse to show that God is omnipresent or omnipotent ......

God is not mere light..... That's one of the feature of God be it mere light or even the light of guidance....
Note the prefix word HIS Light.... His Is not required if God himself is Light only. If God is mere light.. Then who is His? Sun has light... We call it IT'S Light... If no Sun only Light then how we call... It's light... Whose light? We should only call then light. .. Light of Earth or light of heaven... Etc.. Cannot call it's light... Allah is not merely Light... He will decend on the day of ressurection with ruh and angels....

BTW you are bringing lots of topic... Are you satisfied with your previous topics so bring new one... Just asking... Or you have the capacity to look everything at a time...
        God guide us...

Omnipresent = means "constantly encountered" everywhere and every time.

Thus your underlined statement above is not correct. The correct statement will be.
God is not ONLY within His creation. But He's also within His creation.

If there is something which has no limit / no boundary. Then it will be an automatic implication that it exists everywhere and every time. And it also an automatic implication that there could only be one of such thing exist.
If there are more of such thing, then the definition is incorrect, because it implies that it has limit / boundary that differentiate between the two.

Including your statement above that "God is not within His creation" implied that there is a limit / boundary on God and that limit / boundary is the limit / boundary of "His Creation". As such it is not aligned with the definition of God exists everywhere and every time and has no boundary / limit.

Something which has no boundary / limit is the definition of something which human refer as Tao, Brahman, YHVH, Ahura Mazda and supposedly The Father and Allah as well.

Don't know th enumber of the aya, but it says it is closer to us than our yugular vein, so if that is nto being "within" us, what is it? It may b e said that He more within us tha ourselves. The fact is that God is the only thig that really exists, everything else is a projection of Him. We exist, because He makes as persist all of our duration. So He is everywhere.

Space and time are human concepts. God is not a prisoner of human concepts. Humans need those concepts to be themselves, God does not. He is so generous that gives us those means of thinking and understanding. He i not bound by our needs.

Quotes from the Qur'an? I think they are verywhere it in, but sorry aside from the yugular vein cant seem to think of a particular one, but I guess reading on, it will not be difficult to find, even if we do keep to his names as they are mentionned in the closing of many ayas.

            Salaam

?...His Throne encompasses the skies/space/Al-ssamaawaat and the earth...?

?Say (the things) that my Lord has indeed forbidden (are) shameful deeds; what is public of it and private; and sin, and trespasses without cause, and that you set up partners with God that for which He has not sent down any authority; and that you say about God what you do not know?.

It is forbidden saying unknown things about God!

Allah cannot be compared to anything; Nowhere in the Qur&#039an, do we find God, referring to Himself any comparative terms. Not even Allahuakbar, while the term Akbar used in many places in the Qur&#039an to compare things (e.g. 2219)
Allah calls Himself as Al-Kabeer The Great.
              God is incomparably Great.

He is the Originator of all of the creation.
Initiator of the skies /space and the earth, when He decrees a command, He merely says to it ‘Be,&#039 and it is.

From the Quranic point of view, No. He is hears and sees everything, which of course He already knows beforehand, afterall he destines everything.

But he is not omnipresent, and there is no reason for him to be. He exist in a fixed location above the heavens as verses attest.

                  peace,

I don&#039t understand why people are struggling to argue for irrelevant things.
All agree that God knows everything and He is capable of everything etc. etc. Then what is the point of discussing/arguing topics like this? when God says IT IS FORBIDDEN saying unknown things about Him .
Some say God is Omnipresent and some say NO. Whether God is Omnipresent /not, what is the problem?
