    Peace jkhan.
    Nice to hear from you.
Here is my take on "witnesses of the day of judgement"
Everyone will be gathered at GOD s and all the witnesses brought forth.
    1- Messengers as witnesses
    2-Angels, humans...etc as witnesses.

Messengers are witness to what they were sent with.
But the main witness for each one of us will be each individual against themselves
Ikraa Kitabaka Kafa Bi Nafseeka Al Yawma Alaika Hasiba…"
In other words it does not matter as such what generation you belong to, you yourself know what journey you took and which messenger s message you belong to.
i.e Read your record of your life(it is written in front of you!) You alone are a sufficient witness against yourself.
So what message from GOD do you believe in? Or do you believe there is no GOD or accountability? Or are you ignoring any message? Or is there no message?...etc
    GOD bless you.
    Peace.

        Peace jkhan.

The answer depends on what journey the individual is taking.. Or can we say that people who do not follow Mohammed are not Muslims?
To me there are billions of other people that had or have the option to be Muslims without following Mohammed.

Mohammed will be a witness that Qoran s message is from GOD. If you follow Qoran ,then one can accept that Mohammed will be a witness for or against them.
Also other Messengers of Qoran(GOD keeps sending messengers according to Qoran) will also witness the same as Mohammed, why not?

In general ,if one follows GOD s message , Mohammed or any other messengers will be in their favour.
        GOD bless you.
        Peace.

          Peace, jkhan!

I think it is not even directed to the Day of Judgment but to an arbitrary Day when GOD sends His Prophets as warners against their sinful nation. Muhammad was a witness against those sinful arabs and their corrupted authorities/elites. A witness of their bad and degenerated behavior because he lived and was raised in that wicked system.

            Peace Quincy...

4528 "And you shall see every nation kneeling down; every nation shall be called to its book today you shall be rewarded for what you did"

1047 " And for every nation there is a messenger. And when their messenger cometh (on the Day of Judgment) it will be judged between them fairly, and they will not be wronged"

So above verses indicate that nations are different and there were messengers in every nation... So that particular messenger /s will be witness for them..

548 ..... " Had Allah willed, He would have made you one nation but to test you in what He has given you; ....."

Whole world is not one nation by any means, that's what God says... so Mohamed cannot be the messenger to entire world.. So cannot be a witness to people who came after him... That's not fair on him either...

who is the witness as a messenger to the current world population?? Honestly I have no clue.. I am sure someone would make a good point to ponder..
Or is it regardless of time period, people of every nation will be segregated and their respective past messenger/s will be their witness..
What is witness??, how can a messenger of the past be a witness to a current nation in which hardly his messages are preserved?
Or with the full stop of prophets, God's mercy is over and His word of disbelief will spread throughout and very minute survive...
But no disbeliever disagree that they didn't have a messenger... Below verse
            3971
"And those who disbelieve shall be driven to hell in companies; until, when they come to it, its doors shall be opened, and the keepers of it shall say to them Did not there come to you messengers from among you reciting to you the communications of your Lord and warning you of the meeting of this day of yours? They shall say Yea! But the sentence of punishment was due against the unbelievers"

So will Mohamed be my witness as messenger on the day of judgement ?

              Salam jkhan!

Glad to see you again! When I read 162 and 16102-3 it seems that the whole surah is pinpointing to this Rul al-Quds who will be witness over the witnesses/messengers of their respective nations. It also seems logical as Jibreel is the Ruh alAmeen who brings Allah's message to every messenger.

              Peace!

                Peach Jkhan, welcome,

                I think the verses says,
For you, if you do wrong/corruption/evil, there will be witnesses around you and cannot be hidden, and Prophet will be a witness for those evils in his time and there will be good souls to warn you and guide, to give the message of good over bad. So the guidance, Mohammed, Quran are not a finished chapter, but a continuous process.

                  Peace..
                  Thank you..
it is quite interesting view, but those who responded has different understanding and entirely different conviction...TMTT has another opinion..

But your understanding made me to ponder .... i always thought that the judgment day is basically targeted the evil people and the muttaqun or pious rather qualified lot will be in janna without having to go through the hard time what disbelievers have to undergo on that horrible day.. but everyone is part and parcel of Judgement day, Right?

But anyhow even only to evil people there should be a Witness that they know themselves.. is it?

                    Salam Everyone...

3723 …. and guide them to the path of Hellfire
3724 And STOP them; indeed, they are to be questioned."

Or as per above verses the questioning is only carried out to the wicked evil / disbelievers in any aspect? Are Believers of any era be exempted from the QUESTIONING AND WITNESSING? Are they automatically through? Or rather EVERY Soul will be questioned?

Are all the Messengers / Witnesses on that day of Judgment only to one class i.e. those who destined for abode of fire. If that is the sort of right assumption (need clarification) then all genuine past Prophets/Messengers will be witnesses against evil people for their wickedness of their respective nation regardless of time... World is same though the time is passed.. So to every nation messengers means whole world has experienced Messengers in the past and they belong to any part of the world. So they only stand against wicked people’s action since their record is presented though they were not physically / manifestly living with them…
What could be the perfect explanation… if anyone has a discernible understanding of this pls make a comment at any convenient time to you.. even after a month or so..just to get a better picture..

Ad the below verse as well for support
76 " Then We will surely question those to whom was sent, and We will surely question the messengers."
77 " Then We will surely relate to them with knowledge, and We were not absent."

So messengers will be questioned on behalf of their community or rather nation..

                        Salam all,

And God will say “O Jesus, son of Mary, did you tell the people to take you and your mother as gods other than God?” He said “Glory to You, I cannot say what I have no right of. If I had said it then You know it, You know what is in my self while I do not know what is in Your self. You are the Knower of the unseen.”
“I only said to them what You commanded me to, that ‘You shall serve God, my Lord and your Lord.’ And I was witness over them as long as I was with them, but when You terminated my life, You were watcher over them. You are witness over all things.”

If Muhammad is asked whether he told people to take him as gods besides God, to take his sunnah as divine authority besides Quran, then I believe his answer will be more or less similar to that of Jesus.

                        Wassalam,
                        Ade

                          Peace Cool and All…

And God will say “O Jesus, son of Mary, did you tell the people to take you and your mother as gods other than God?” He said “Glory to You, I cannot say what I have no right of. If I had said it then You know it, You know what is in my self while I do not know what is in Your self. You are the Knower of the unseen.”

This is one of the intricate questions from God to a Messenger..God knew Isa didn’t say it.. let’s get back to Witness factor these crucial verses.. God used merely the word “PEOPLE” and not “YOUR people”… can anyone say a thing to his community and to people who are to come afterwards apart from his contemporary people.. YES…Because, as followers of Isa generations after generations it will continue what he said… So Isa can be a Witness to His followers (either they took wrong path or right.. they call themselves they are followers or ISA.. as we do say that we are followers of Quran which revealed to Mohamed).. But Isa only says “I cannot say what I have NO Right”.. So As a messenger He has only spoken with what he was revealed.
Now lets turn concentration to the caption.. Can Mohammed be a Witness.. People are categorized on their own will… aren’t they?.. Many followers in this world merely based on their respective past Leaders.. Most of them Messengers sent by God and some I have no clue may be distorted and some of course Disbelievers or rather Atheists (God Himself divide people into very few class, can’t remember the exact verse.. such as believers, people of the book, sabiun, mushrikun etc and all will be judged fairly according to their deed)… So suppose, If Mohamed has not uttered something while he was alive to his contemporary people and somehow if people fabricated a story coining over to Mohamed and still call we are followers of Mohamed then Mohamed is eligible to be a WITNESS over those who claim Mohamed is our Leader..Coz He has all the right to deny what he has not uttered to claims of even his people or people alien to him.. So he can be a witness to anyone regardless of place and time he lived throughout his life. Only thing He would say that He revealed what is commanded to Him. So all will be in total astray in front of God... Coz Respective Messenger was the Witness and Guarantee that He didn’t say such and such thing that is prevailing throughout.. is that a fair point..

“I only said to them what You commanded me to, that ‘You shall serve God, my Lord and your Lord.’ And I was witness over them as long as I was with them, but when You terminated my life, You were watcher over them. YOU ARE WITNESS over all things.”

Somehow, Prophet Isa will be innocent and will be all messengers since they didn’t reveal what is not commanded to them officially… But still they will be brought to WITNESS against those who claimed such and such in the name of the messengers wittingly or unwittingly.. There is a reason why Allah Bring the Messengers as Witness… Coz they were the leaders of Communities then and now..Apart from Pure Mushriqun who never accepted any Messenger..So as per 5117 God is WITNESS against their evil..
In this way, will there be Witnesses on the day of Resurrection to all the people in the world who are destined for Hell fire.. Is that reasonable conclusion? It is not for the Real believers to be in this great feud.. coz they are not guilty from these questions..Coz they didn’t do it.. If you meticulously read all the verses of quran, you may notice that all questions of God in the day of Resurrection pointing towards those who are destined for punishment..

                          Peace...

Christians are worshipping Jesus believing that Jesus is God. They will say that it is Jesus himself who taught that. God will then ask Jesus accordingly (not because God does not know Jesus didn't teach that).

For these have taken to worshipping deities other than God, hoping that they would be a strength for them.
But nay! these will disavow the worship that was paid to them, and will turn against those !

Similarly, sunnis are worshipping Muhammad. They are taking his sunnah written in sahih hadith books as divine authority besides Quran believing that it is Muhammad himself who taught it. Muhammad will also say similar to that of Jesus.
