Brother... Search in this very forum I am sure you will get an idea... And read Quran and compare...Simply I say with my exploration there is No Zakath (giving money, food, goods etc) in Quran...
But, Allah encourage and recommend to perform charity and help always... To the extent if you DON'T do charity Janna is far from reach...Zakath is always purification / betterment of a person in whatever good way...
Once you read Zakath verses thoroughly and what you grasp is depend on your understanding...
