the meaning of muslim to God?

I didn't read the last couple of pages so I was myself wondering how the topic drifted to the definition of 'muslim'! But never mind! It was a side note to clear some confusion that aroused at the middle of that discussion as some members were disturbed to be told that human beings are all born muslims. So I thought that it was very important that somebody explains this and end this disturbance.

That is unfair Taj. You know that the word muslim is used with different meanings, I appreciate to know one more meaning now, but playing with the Arabic and English languages is not nice. Members were not disturbed, members like clarity and dislike confusion.

Everybody likes clarity and dislikes confusion! Of course!? So where is the unfairness here? And you are accusing me of playing with Arabic and English, Elena! Are you serious!?Did you like to be told that you were born muslim before you knew the meaning? If you did like it then that is perfectly fine. If you did not like it then I explained it so no one feels offended and so disturbed by the word muslim. So why are you all of a sudden attacking me here!? What happened, Elena!? Why are you saying that I am playing with Arabic and English!? I did not expect that you would be so disturbed of the explanation to the point of attacking me so baselessly for it! But never mind, Elena!

The word 'muslim' means free from any influence or any social, parental, dictation or baggage, materialism, etc. And that is exactly how we are all born.

In Arabic muslim means - one who surrenders, active participle of ?aslama, to surrender
Muslim - A believer in or adherent of Islam.
TAJ's rendering of "Muslim" is vastly different from accepted meaning of the word.

So, LT, it is unfair of anyone here or to dictionary to say about you that you are one to surrender to God, nor is it fair to you to be told that you were born sinless! So to you it is only fair and undisturbing to say that you are not one to surrender to God and also that you are not one born without sins! Whatever makes you sleep at night! The word "surrender" was not in your rendering of the word "Muslim" in the first place. You seem to made up a definition that makes you feel good. Though I have not read all the posts in the "What Constiutes a Muslim" thread but none of the posts are no where near to your definition of the word. But lets move on...

I am not sure I am following the thread , but here goes.
The word "muslim" is a desciption, not a title. It describes one who is PEACEFUL and SUBMITS to Universal Law(God's Will).
Regarding being born "muslim", I am not sure about that. Children are controlled by the "animal" that we are to transcend in Life. Crying for everything is not spiritual growth, it is emotionality. Peeing on yourself is not healthy. Further, the God states in this reading that the Human was created WEAK. Is weakness part of the desciption of "muslim"?
I will stop here in case I have not understood the direction of this thread.
