    Peace,

479 Whatever good/benefit comes to you is from Allah and whatever evil/misfortune
is from yourself/your own soul. We have sent you as a messenger to mankind.
    Allah is sufficient as witness.

Yes the innocent face injustice, crime, death, war at the hands of others, but must
strive to overcome the unfortunate things in their lives like Joseph and Job.

Oprah winfrey was raped as a child. Tyler Perry was homeless.

Allah is the creator of "all" things, we choose right or wrong sometimes in ignorance,
humility, arrogance, ego, anger, love, psycopathy, compassion, etc.

The story of Joseph is a wonderful tale about a man who rises above many
hardships because he pocessed a heart of righteousness whom his brothers
resented. A goodness that radiated attractiveness to women. And a demeanor
of honesty. In the end his good father was rewarded for his patience.
What a reunion it must have been!

    peace

I'd rather only have people become orphans or get raped only if they deserve it. Would your prefer otherwise? Would you prefer that people who don't deserve to be raped to be raped? Would you prefer an imperfect existence to a perfect existence? Would you surrender to that which is not perfect? It's up to you what you want to settle for. It's better for you to settle for God/Perfection (a perfect existence...the true god). You cannot will anything except if it is also Willed by God. If you think God Willed for innocent people to get raped, you are saying what is irrational and not true of Existence/God. This is blasphemy. It's bad. It's sin. It's evil.

So, is it me who is being pretentious and preposterous, or you who have this view of existence being imperfect? If you are truthful, genuine, sincere to God, authentic in this matter, how do you reconcile what I have just said? How does God Handle all affairs, Will all things, be wholly innocent of evil, yet still be the case that underserved suffering occurs? Don't forget that I addressed your points, both by way of pure reason, and by way of scripture, despite your excess in allowing yourself to consider my view as perverse. Now you've allowed yourself to imply that I'm being pretentious and preposterous. Again, if you are the one sincere to God in this instance and blessed with knowledge, tell me exactly where it is in what I have described to you regarding God/Existence, that I am wrong. If you cannot do this, and you will not be able to this, then you are at fault, and in my opinion, owe me an apology. Consider this post, a taste of your own medicine. A mirroring of your own attitude.

It is not what you or I prefer, it is what is observable and provable. People have weful things hapenning to them even when they do not deserve it, and as Hawk has cited, the Qura'n says as much.

And I did not call you anything, wht i did call things was certain things you keep saying that if somebody suffers something even if he r she has done nothing to earn it, that according to you that would prove existence is imperfect.

Still you have again not considered that you are looking at existnce in segmented pieces and not in the whole. I will say it again and leave it there. Existence is everything that has existed, exists or will exist and it is perfect becuse God will reward thos who learn and suffer with patience whatever undeserved or deserved comes to them. The whole of existence is perfect, not any segment of it. It is as if you read a novel and choose to consider the novel only art of it, the most horrible part and say that it is a horrible novel.

      Salaam

        Peace brothers and sisters.
I am talking to those who believe in GOD in this post. and everybody interested in reflecting.

Are we expecting this life to be perfect? Yet GOD is perfection, so why this contrast?

GOD created the weather elements for us ,the sun ,fire...etc Can we say, when these things harm/kill GOD created "evil"? So why does extreme heat, cold ,fire, extreme weather harm/kill people?
Suffering ,oppression, injustice occur all over the earth in all ages why?

Let us go back to the origin of this life, why did GOD set us up to be humans on earth? Why not be Angels or animals or...any other creation?
GOD created all this universe for us and restricted us to live on this tiny insignificant place-earth- compared to other bigger planets why?
GOD made earth habitable for us and made productivity so that its inhabitants will have a turn living in it why?
GOD sent us scriptures with prophets and made sure each generation had the message, why?

What is apparent is we had no choice in where we live or what was created in it. We are here and we are trying to make sense of why and how.

IQoran does not explain existence of suffering/evil. That part of the knowledge is with GOD and we have only been given some of the knowledge
The message of Qoran is a way of life; a code of conduct for successful living in the trials and tests of this life. it is not an all encompassing theory of everything

But since we are asking about it, We want a peaceful life and a peaceful people in it. Anything that is not peaceful in its nature is contrary to the message of Qoran. In order to attain this state , we face trials and tribulations. It is not only believers or disbelievers who do this but all other religions like Christians, Jewish believers, Hindus and above all Buddhists in their quest for the Nirvan, face tests and their success in attaining the peace depends upon their performance in those tests

A peaceful state , by design, requires a system of accountability and correction. In order to attain the perfect peace, several stages have to be passed successfully. Suffering through those stages is actually a journey and not an end in and of itself

A peaceful state of a person requires submission to GOD Alone and this is the hardest test to pass. This involves tests and tasks which are inexplicable and illogical according to human reasoning and standards. These tests may come in form of sudden catastrophes, painful affliction of innocent people and irrational loss of life and wealth. These tests qualify as truest form of human suffering and require the highest form of surrender to the almighty.

While one reflects/study/ponder Qoran to find answers to these difficult questions, what is certain is that GOD is in control,GOD does everything for good reasons and GOD is the only just judge for everyone. Complete and perfect justice for what each one deserves.

Why do we expect the life and death of everyone on earth to be the same when GOD expects one of two ways .Disasters /suffering...happens to all but it is due to choices and decisions of the "evil ones".
Believers should accept that this is part of life and accept whatever happens to them, knowing that all good is from GOD and all bad is from the decisions and choices of either us or others that can affect us.
A verse that gives us the strength to accept whatever comes our way, good or bad and to know that as long as there are "evil people" there will carry on being disasters and suffering. Only when all are peaceful and submitting to our Creator will there be total peace and perfection

Even if a Quran caused mountains to move, or the earth to tear asunder, or the dead to speak (they will not believe). God controls all things. Is it not time for the believers to give up and realize that if God willed, He could have guided all the people? The disbelievers will continue to suffer disasters, as a consequence of their own works, or have disasters strike close to them, until God's promise is fulfilled. God will never change the predetermined destiny.

Suffering is good for awareness of the soul to return to GOD Alone for connection and protection.
        GOD bless you all.
        Peace.

TYPE 2.. totally human and Jinn responsible for action... God is not propeller... Only difference it happened within the knowledge of God... That's will..

Ok. You have given examples, and I have given examples. TYPE 2 is what you seem to believe. So tell me how you view this

You cannot will anything except if God also Wills, the Lord of the worlds (8129)

Clearly, the human and the Jinn cannot do anything, except if God also Wills. Right? So it's not just that it's within the knowledge of God. There's a clear difference between the Will of God and the Knowledge of God. God Knows that if x happens to me, I will choose y. God never brings about x. God never Wills x, because God doesn't Want me to do/choose y.

God Knew that Satan would disobey, and that Adam would then follow Satan is disobedience if x happened. God brought x about. God Willed this to happen. Satan could not have willed to disobey God, except if God also Willed it. Again look at 8129. Could Satan have willed to disobey God without God also Willing it? Again, to Know something, is not to Will something. So, did God misguide Satan or not? Did God Will for Satan do disobey God or not?

For you God is evil... Coz if you claim in this way.. God created Iblees and made him

Iblees would have to choose to be evil for Iblees to be evil. God created Iblees knowing what Iblees would choose. God chose for Iblees to choose to be evil. God is not blameworthy of Iblees being evil. Only the one that chooses to be evil is responsible for being evil. Iblees chose to be evil. God did not choose for Iblees. There's a difference between God choosing what Iblees chooses, and God choosing for Iblees. If God did not want Iblees to be evil, God would not have created him at all. If God did not want Iblees to misguide Adam, God would not have exposed him to Adam. Nothing is done independently of God's Will.

So iblees didn't react in his freewill but God made him as bait... That's not God.. God is truth and pure..

You're not understanding what I'm saying. If Iblees had no choice in the matter, then Iblees is not evil. Iblees is not some programmed robot with no self-awareness. Iblees chose to be evil. God did not choose in place of Iblees, God chose what Iblees himself would choose. As in God Knew that if x happened Iblees would choose y, and if p happened Iblees would choose q. God Willed/Chose for x to happen and did not Will for p to happen. Iblees free-willingly chose y. The subject that chose to be evil, is evil. God did not Will Itself, to be evil. God Willed Iblees will in such a manner that constitutes Iblees being evil. God Wanted/Willed this to happen. God is responsible for the whole affair. God chose for Iblees to be created, and chose for Iblees to choose to misguide Adam. God gave Iblees respite. God mislead Iblees. If God did not give Iblees respite, Iblees would not be destined for Hell. Iblees would not have mislead Adam. Again, God Willed Iblees to will x. God did not program Iblees to do x, nor did God choose in place of Iblees. Iblees himself chose.

He WANTED Iblees to disobey Him in the first place, then blame Iblees for not obeying His command... What nonsense?

Did God misguide Iblees? Yes or no? Could Iblees have willed anything with God also Willing it? Yes or no? Do not forget, to know something is not the same as willing something. God Knew/Knows what Iblees reveals and hides. God Knew that If x happens, Iblees would do y. God made x happen. God Willed Iblees to choose y.

It is not God wanted.. God is innocent from what His creatures choose to do out of freewill.. God could have stopped Iblees disobeying His command.. But why should He stop while He has given freewill... He is not to change the way He created.. From iblees all issues crept up.. right... So.. Ibkees was not acting on his own but God wanted... So.. God is ruling an evil world creating evil in His own... That's impossible... God doesn't have any such attributes....

Are you saying that someone can will something without God also Willing it? This contradicts the Quran (8129). It also contradicts pure reason, but that's a different discussion.

Will of God has a massive meaning... Don't confuse it by restricting it to negative aspects...

I am not restricting anything. You are restricting the semantic or meaning of Will in 8129 in a contradictory manner. As in, you deny that will means will, in 8129. You seem to think that will actually means know in 8129. A triangle is not a square. To know something is not the same as to will something.

Then comes actions of Human and Jinns... God created us but God didn't create our character... Character we created

God Willed/Wills that we choose between good and evil. We only choose between good and evil because God Wants it this way.

1311 As if he has followers in his presence and behind him guarding him from God's command! God is not to change what is in a people until they change what is within themselves.

853 That is because God was not to change any blessing He bestowed upon a people, unless they change what is in themselves. God is Hearer, Knowledgeable.

2286 God does not impose a person beyond its capacity. For it is what it earns, and against it is what it earns...

Iblees wanted respite. Iblees wanted to disobey God. It was not beyond the capacity of Iblees and his free-will to become so evil, that it would be perfection for him to go to Hell. Again, I am not saying that God chose for Iblees. I am saying that God chose for Iblees to choose what he chose. Iblees chose Iblees to be evil. Iblees wanted/chose God to be evil too (by wanting God to prefer him over Adam when Adam was objectively better and sincerer to God than him), but God did not want God to be evil. But God did Want Iblees to be evil. Iblees wanted Iblees to be evil. Again, God did not choose instead of Iblees.

It is not what you or I prefer, it is what is observable and provable. People have weful things hapenning to them even when they do not deserve it

And how do you plan on observing and proving what the soul of the orphan or the rape victim is like? You are not Omniscient. Even the angels that had the ability to tell Adam would cause bloodshed and corruption lacked the knowledge that God had. If you do not know their souls (what they reveal and what they hid), how can you claim they did not deserve to be raped or become orphans? I can claim that they deserved it because I can prove by way of pure reason, that God/Existence Is Perfect. There are things that are open to interpretation (such as what you see in a movie, or an event you observe in real life...such as a woman being raped) and there are things that are clear and not open to interpretation. The latter are matters of pure reason. They include truths such as triangles having three sides and Existence Being Perfect. So I have my proof which is rooted in pure reason and does not assume omniscience about the souls that have been raped or have become orphans. Where is your proof?

Do you not see that what you say both assumes omniscience and calls God imperfect at the same time? How can God be Perfect, if God allows/Wills people who do not deserve to suffer, to suffer? 8129 says you cannot will anything except if it is also Willed by God. Why do you ignore this verse?

And I did not call you anything, wht i did call things was certain things you keep saying that if somebody suffers something even if he r she has done nothing to earn it, that according to you that would prove existence is imperfect.

You implied it clearly enough. In any case, how do you not see that if one person in existence gets what they don't deserve (even if it's an atom's weight), that existence is imperfect?

Still you have again not considered that you are looking at existnce in segmented pieces and not in the whole. I will say it again and leave it there. Existence is everything that has existed, exists or will exist and it is perfect becuse God will reward thos who learn and suffer with patience whatever undeserved or deserved comes to them. The whole of existence is perfect, not any segment of it. It is as if you read a novel and choose to consider the novel only art of it, the most horrible part and say that it is a horrible novel.

I am looking at the whole. That's why I said, all things considered, the woman who was raped, deserved to be raped. It was perfection for her to be raped. In a perfect existence, perfection is omnipresent. You seem to have this view that God would allow/Will someone to suffer without that someone committing any evil whatsoever. If this is your view, your view is grossly blasphemous. First you become evil, then God punishes you when it's Perfection for God to do so. It's never Perfection for you to be 0 in terms of evilness, yet God Wills that you get raped against your will. God does not Will an innocent child or woman to be raped, and then justify this occurrence by giving the child or woman paradise. If the man, woman, or child suffer in any way shape or form (whether it's by being raped, oppressed, or losing their playstation) it was because they were sufficiently evil to deserve their suffering. This is not to say they will never enter Heaven. If they repent and reform, decide good over evil, then of course, they have raced towards Forgiveness and Mercy. They have sincerely and genuinely sought Forgiveness and Mercy, and God Being Perfect, Grants Forgiveness and Mercy to the sincerely repentant. To the ones sincerely seeking Forgiveness and Mercy. God Gave paradise, the woman wronged God (as did the man), but since God does not allow Itself to be wronged, the woman suffered loss. The woman wronged herself. If God does not Forgive her and have Mercy on her, she will be of the losers.

Contrast my view of God (which I have reached by way of God, pure reason, and Quran) with your view of God (which contradicts both pure reason and the Quran). Decide how you want to look at or treat God. I suggest that you treat God/Existence as though It Is Perfect (because that's what pure reason dictates...just as it dictates triangles have three sides). It's not just childish for you to do otherwise. For you to do otherwise, is for you to be unfair to God. It is perhaps easier to forgive a child than it is to forgive an adult. I don't think you want to be evil or unfair to anyone. It's certainly not in your best interest. So try hard to be fair to everyone (including God/Existence...the wholly innocent of evil/injustice).

            Peace

GOD created the weather elements for us ,the sun ,fire...etc Can we say, when these things harm/kill GOD created "evil"? So why does extreme heat, cold ,fire, extreme weather harm/kill people?
Suffering ,oppression, injustice occur all over the earth in all ages why?

              Peace good logic

So We said, "O Adam, this is an enemy to you and your mate. So do not let him take you out from the paradise, else you will have hardship.
There you will not go hungry nor need clothes. There you will not go thirsty nor suffer from heat." (20117-119)

But the devil whispered to him, he said "O Adam, shall I lead you to the tree of immortality and a kingdom which will not waste away?" (20120)

So they both ate from it, and their evil (س و أ) became apparent to them, and they began to place leaves on themselves from the paradise. Adam had disobeyed his Lord, and had gone astray. (20121)

Adam's evil was apparent to God before it was apparent to itself. Perhaps this would have been remedied if Satan prostrated. But both Satan refused to prostrate (therefore disobeying God), and Adam failed to treat Satan as his enemy and not eat from the tree (therefore disobeying God). God bless the angels that were not unappreciative. Obviously, God already Blessed the angels.

Once Adam ate from the tree, Adam's evil became apparent to itself.

It said, "Descend from this, all of you, for you are enemies to one another. So, when My guidance comes to you; then, whoever follows My guidance, he will not go astray nor suffer." (20123)

So, our disobedience to God is why we suffer. Our lack of acknowledgement and our lack of appreciation is why we suffer. We suffer because we are not wholly innocent of evil. We suffer because we deserve it.

God Save us from all distresses. And suffering is one way we can turn to God. You can 'suffer' willingly, or you can suffer unwillingly. I'm not sure that the former constitutes genuine suffering. The man who suffers during a workout, is not really suffering in my opinion. A lack of belief in what he is doing on his part would of course lead him to suffer more during his workout, or even make him fail to achieve as much gains from his workout. Working out is a trivial matter in comparison to repenting and reforming and racing towards Forgiveness and Mercy. But, I think the same principle applies. Patience and strive. Creativity perhaps. Reason and a genuine sense of good. Humility towards God such that you beg God for goodness, Forgiveness, and Mercy. To me, begging people for something seems pathetic. But to not beg God is foolish, unappreciative, self-righteous. To beg God for anything other than what is best for oneself (of which only God truly Knows), such as winning the lottery, or passing a test, or anything else, is also unwise.

They avoid major sins and lewdness, except for minor offences. Your Lord is with vast Forgiveness. It has been fully aware of you since It initiated you from the earth, and while you were fetuses in your mothers' wombs. Therefore, do not ascribe purity to yourselves; It is fully aware of the righteous. (5332)

We suffer because we are not pure. We are not wholly innocent of evil. We deserve our suffering. May God Forgive and us and have Mercy on us.

When I was a student, I had a Syrian teacher who taught us Arabic. He told us "In French , you must read first in order to understand. In Arabic, this is the converse, you must understand first in order to read".
But so like Arabic is Qur'an you must understand what Qur'an says first in order to read it.

                Salam,

Can you clarify on what I highlight in bold above? How can one understand Quran if he doesn't even read it to begin with?

What comes across my mind right now is Sunnis who never read Quran by themselves (and rely on religious leaders to form their beliefs - which turned out to be conjectures as the teachings are from sahih hadith books that are corrupted and unreliable). And even if they read Quran, since they already have preconceived beliefs, they "change" Quran to mean according to their beliefs rather than change their belief according to what Quran says.

                Wassalam

Though not asked of me to answer, I think you must understand how to approach the book, before you can hope to correctly understand it. The most obvious approach is that any interpretation you take from it, is in line with pure reason. After that, any interpretation you make must be in line with your genuine and sincere sense of good. The Quran is like life. At times, its appearance is such that it does not look as though it is from God (just as what we see in our lives does not look as though Existence Is Perfect). But I think there is enough there for anyone with sincerity to truth and humility, to try and get closer to God. To increase in reverence. To increase in goodness. Also, I think Arabic is an ideal language for this book. The root of words like Ha-qaf-qaf (which semantically highlight truth, justice, reality and other things) are so ideal in conveying the nature of God/Existence that I don't think any other language has grouped or organised or connected labels to semantics in such an ideal way with regards to making the right connections to understanding God and Its Perfection.

As things about it start to come together and make sense, you start to genuinely appreciate the book more and more. Not just for what it is in itself, but how perfectly appropriate and adequate it is for us in our current state. Just like this worldly life.

We suffer because we are not pure. We are not wholly innocent of evil. We deserve our suffering.

Ok. You have given examples, and I have given examples. TYPE 2 is what you seem to believe. So tell me how you view this

You cannot will anything except if God also Wills, the Lord of the worlds (8129)

8127 "It is not except a reminder (ie Quran) to the worlds.

8128 For whoever wills among you to take a right course.

8129 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds.

You wanted me to explain 8129 .. That's why how you have grasped WILL is wrong..

Note brother... Guidance is different from Will of God...
Above three verses is guidance based on His reminder.. God guides whome He wills.. That's His choice.. Based on what condition of human nature He guides He only knows... Coz our belief, actions, our interest may play a massive role in getting the guidance of God..

                      Look carefully the verses..
Quran is a reminder to the worlds... But God Guides we know.. So to take the straight path/guidance as we WILL is possible ... Coz God judge us whether we deserve guidance or not based on QURAN.. Coz God knows who will go on straight path choosing with their own WILL..
So that coincides with the will of God positively...
Suppose if one choose not straight path then it is his own WILL..that tally with God's Will.. God's will is God's knowledge on everything before an action do take place... But He doesn't interfere with our will.. Ours is freewill..
But Mercy and Guidance is God's interest on us.. That we can't will..
Above verses are clear... Don't complicate it by taking it to mean that we are not able to will within our freedom...
God says He knows what is in our hearts... If our hearts will is God's will He doesnt need to say He knows it.. Coz He only willed it.. But it is contrary to it.. We will and God knows what we will within our heart... But every action taking place by the WILL of human and jinn is well within the knowledge of God, so literally that means God allowed... Allowed But not made Himself to happen.. Clear difference..
Try to grasp the difference... God doesn't interfere with the free will of human being... But He shows mercy and guidance and Help...
                      For example..
If I and you fight and if I triggered to fight with you though you didn't want, it means it is my will to fight with you not you.. But you fight for defence... Free will of mine plays a role here... But God has Mercy, guidance and Help... God can interfere here.. Not with my freewill but His Will.. If God saves you showing mercy and Help then it doesn't mean I didn't implement my freewill.. But I lose infront of God's Mercy and Help to you...
So dear will of God's and freewill of human is totally different.. We can can will what we will no hampering at all..

If you deeply ponder on those three verses together rather than taking merely 8129 you would in sha Allah perceive...

In 8128 note that it is whoever wills to take the RIGHT COURSE / STRAIGHT PATH that's Guidance.. We can't get the guidance with our own will but we can will... So obvious... We can will evil as well...

We don't need to ask for forgiveness from God for which God WANTED us to do... He originally wanted us to commit a sin and we beg from him to forgive what he wanted us to do.. That's nonsensical..

You discard having knowledge is not will of God.. But note the below verse..
659 ".. .... And He knows what is on the land and in the sea. Not a leaf falls but that He KNOWS(Ilm) it. And no grain is there within the darknesses of the earth and no moist or dry but that it is in a clear RECORD."

Perfectly written in this verse the exact truth... KNOWLEDGE of God about the future made him to write in clear RECORD...that's WILL of God... We, freewill creatures WILL what we will and trying in doing what we will, if we are capable of doing. So whatever of we willed(good or bad) transformed into action is ours... But KNOWLEDGE of it with God and written in RECORD..

                        So in Yousuf's life story...
God played His part.. showed Mercy, guided him, and Helped him and made him rich.. That no one can do... That's God's job..
Yousuf played his role.. Literally he lived his life..
And rest of others in the story played their role.. They lived their life...
Will of everyone plays a role in life..
Initially Yousuf was helpless and it was not his will... Then gradually became strong.. And he was determined.. He willed certain things and accomplished them.. God helped and shown mercy...
What God wants He achieves.. Coz dream was from God and He achieved it... People lived their life in the story that's their Will and their action... God is responsible for what God did, not what others did..

                          Salam,

                          I wrote above

When I was a student, I had a Syrian teacher who taught us Arabic. He told us "In French , you must read first in order to understand. In Arabic, this is the converse, you must understand first in order to read".
But so like Arabic is Qur'an you must understand what Qur'an says first in order to read it.

                          Salam,

Can you clarify on what I highlight in bold above? How can one understand Quran if he doesn't even read it to begin with?

                          This might be slightly off-topic.

Let's begin with Arabic as my Syrian teacher explained.

When you read a sentence in Arabic, there is often an ambiguity on the words because in general the diacritical signs are not marked.
So how do you know which word is the correct one when you read ?

Well, you need to have first an idea of the context where the word is used and then the context removes ambiguity and you can finish reading the sentence.
The context can be internal to the structure of the sentence, I mean grammatical, it represents the signifier.
The context can be external to the structure of the sentence, it represents the signified.

Native Arabic people do it unconsciously but non-native Arabic people must do it explicitly at least at the beginning.

Now for Qur'an a similar idea applies.
Sure, you can read the text as long as you want. And I did that for several years in the frame of traditional Islam.

I have then discovered in 2015 that other readings of Qur'an than the ones proposed by traditional Islam could be possible thanks to Free-minds.org, its articles and its forum.

And that was the problem a lot of readings and interpretations sounded plausible though the text claims it is "clear" and "obvious" in various verses.

But how could one claim that Qur'an is "clear" and "obvious" if so many readings and interpretations are possible ?

We can even read interpretations that are only possible because of scientific discoveries made in the 20th CE (by non-Muslims by the way).
But science is not bound by any Qur'anic agenda, and does not hesitate to discard theories that were previously well accepted, so maybe we should wait for a couple centuries more the time Qur'an becomes much clearer, no ?

This complaint often comes again and again in the topics on this forum and elsewhere.

This is a contradiction. Sometimes I read here or there that more or less any reading should be valid. But this sounds just a workaround position to avoid admitting there is indeed a problem.

So reading doesn't mean you will understand, and as I did before, you can read during years, even all your life, without ever understanding the text and its purpose if you don't possess the right key.

The reason is the either lack of context or erroneous context about Qur'an and why it was written that would remove ambiguities.

At least in traditional Islam, there are the so-called asbab an-nuzul that attempt to frame tafsirs, even though the asbab an-nuzul are completely fictitious.
Yet interpreting Qur'an within the frame of the asbab an-nuzul leaves the door open to many possibilities like zahir vs. batin in Sufism.

But in my opinion the situation seems even worse for Qur'an alone interpretations.
Wishing to get rid of hadiths, asbab an-nuzul and tafsirs of traditional Islam for the sake of interpreting Qur'an is nice.

But this process, although necessary in first step, has gone too far into believing that interpretation of Qur'an is to be sought in Qur'an alone itself.
This is weird and leads to a lot of circular reasoning that I often read here and there.

It leads to pure non-sense, similar to what we hear in traditional Islam, that the true "tawrat" of Moses or the true 'injeel" of Jesus have been irremediably corrupted by Jews and Christian and thus, not available anymore. While, on the contrary, there is no proof that the Bible we know today has been corrupted since the 7th CE.

While Qur'an invokes a lot of times Biblical figures, Abraham, Moses, and here Joseph, etc, it is hardly that the assertions of Qur'an about them are compared to the Jewish and Christian traditions, as if Qur'an mentioned biblical figures by coincidence and without any reference to the Jewish tradition.

It sounds as if the stance attributed to Umar ibn Khattab “As for the books you mention, if there is in it what complies with the Book of God, then it is already there and is not needed and if what is in these books contradict the Book of God there is no need for it. And you can then proceed in destroying them.” were still to be applied.

This is simply severing the text from its native roots.
Probably, people believing in Qur'an alone interpretation consciously cut Qur'an from its roots because, since they believe the text is directly authored by God Himself, it must eternally valid in any situation, whether in the past, in present, or in future, and therefore it must not be tied to any historical context.

Surely when a text has no root, you can plant it anywhere, then unfold it and plant it elsewhere again, right ?

You wanted me to explain 8129 .. That's why how you have grasped WILL is wrong..

Don't to be too hasty in your conclusion here. Either you misunderstand me, or your conclusion is wrong, or my conclusion is wrong, or I misunderstand you. If not 100% sure, I'm at least 99% sure that you either misunderstand me, or your conclusion is wrong, or both. I think it's a mixture of both.

Note brother... Guidance is different from Will of God...

Yes brother. I agree they are different. But I am not equating the Knowledge of God, or the Guidance of God, with the Will of God. I believe this is what you are doing.

If x can only will what God also Wills, and x wills to rape a woman, how can you say that God also did not Will this???

I think you are too determined to view humans as innocent. Perhaps you are not taking into account that we descended as enemies to one another (some of us to some others of us) or that we ate from the tree after God (the wholly innocent of evil) provided us with good, warned us of the devil, told us what would happen if we ate from the tree, and we still ate. All men, children, and women born on this planet, have (to my understanding) ate from the tree.

Also, another question. Please answer this specifically

x rapes y. Let's say this was NOT also Willed by God (which is what you seem to believe). Did y deserve to be raped?
God had knowledge that y would be raped. If y did not deserve to be raped, why did God not stop an injustice from happening? And if it was a case of justice happening, why do you have any difficulties acknowledging that none can do anything except if God also Wills?

Don't to be too hasty in your conclusion here. Either you misunderstand me, or your conclusion is wrong, or my conclusion is wrong, or I misunderstand you. If not 100% sure, I'm at least 99% sure that you either misunderstand me, or your conclusion is wrong, or both. I think it's a mixture of both.Yes brother.

                                Peace brother..
You didn't respond to 8127-29 but write nothing but challenge.. Don't take it as challenge dude... Just learn.. For your guidance...like we all learn..

                                DESERVE....
So is this the issue with you... If so.. Let me also ask you a similar question...
If I take in place of God another Deity, Does He deserve it? As per you He should Deserve that we take deities or associate with Him.. Coz everything happens according to His will.. So He deserve a deity taken by us, like the raped girl deserves being raped.... That's the logic you apply.. Aren't you?... If He deserves we associate with Him, then let Him be calm looking at what He planned.. What He planned is We should associate deities with Him...same question like you pose. Why not God stops people associate with Him?
Leave aside rapist and the victim.. Why God deserves to be associated and why He planned that most on earth should associate with Him deities.. As per you so simple, He well and truly deserves to be associated..

So.. Will of God is He Himself WANTED that people take another god/s ... If that is the will of God then what harm in taking another god?

I keep repeating and emphasizing but you failed not 99% but 100% to grasp what is WILL of God and WILLINGNESS/WANT of God... Even you didn't understand the two types I presented...

Now let me answer your question... Girl who got raped doesn't deserve to be raped like God doesn't deserve to be associated... No one deserves injustice in this world or hereafter.. God is just..
But God let the freewill of human to prevail... Further I pointed out in my previous threads that if God wanted He would have stopped that girl being raped... There are cases God helps and showing mercy and save from six disaster... God not interfere in every human action.. Coz it is a test for us... That's why God says if He willed He would have made everyone one nation and guided all of us... In that case it is not freewill but God's totall control... Guidance is His choice to whome it deserves.. We can't will God's guidance, Mercy, Help, God's destruction etc etc. That's God's will and willingness as well. We can only will what we actually can will.. Beyond our capacity we can't will...

8129 is crystal clear, We can't will the right path that is to say guidance.. That God has to will then only it happens even though we wish guidance. But you took the clear verse totally opposite thinking that we can't will anything at all whether it happens or not... But truth is We can will independently... That's why God says they plan and We plan and we are best of planners. They plan means they have to will first...
Will of God is His knowledge of what is to happen.. That's one point.. And will of God is in fact God plans.. Like mercy, help, guidance, destruction etc.

Why God says.. Say God will before we do anything that we will do tomorrow?
Coz we can will, but it may or may not happen coz God knows the future.. So why we convincingly say something about future that we don't know....
Let me simplify that with an example...
I say that I wabtvto demolish this orphanage building tomorrow... So I WILL/PLAN...if God doesn't want to.interfere by Help or Mercy etc then what we willed will happen.. Coz it is already written in record coz of God's knowledge of future...
But in case if God WANTED to interfere by mercy of help. If that is what is written in Record.. Then we can't demolish the building though we willed...

I responded. Tell me what specific point I didn't respond to. In any case, this isn't primarily about challenging someone. This is about having beliefs that are not contradictory or paradoxical. I do not mean to say this an insulting way, but perhaps you need to learn in this instance. Perhaps it is you who needs guidance regarding this matter and not me. I will respond to your questions point by point, and I will not answer your questions with another question. So please answer my questions directly. This is surely better and probably more indicative of strength in one's position.

If I take in place of God another Deity, Does He deserve it?

I see your point, so I will clarify mine. Only evil deserves to be harmed (yes or no?). God deserves to always get what God Wants and this always happens. If you set up partners with God, it's because God Wanted this to happen. Obviously, this is because you want this to happen. It's like the devil seeking respite, and God granting it respite. God Wanted to give Satan respite. God Willed for Satan to be respited. So God always gets what God deserves even if there are those who are evil in relation to God because God Satisfies Itself by Punishing those who are evil. If God could not Satisfy Itself, why would God create them in the first place? God Knew x would become evil, God Knew that God would punish x brutally. God brought this about because this is Perfection. It's Perfection for evil to suffer. Suffering is one thing that evil is good for, just as oil is one thing that's good for frying eggs. Willingly or unwillingly we all serve God. In other words, we either serve God willingly, or we suffer unwillingly. If you are evil, God Wants to punish you. God deserves to punish you because you have viewed God as imperfect and you deserve to be punished for the same reason. Objectively speaking, you did not wrong anyone other than yourself. You were unfair or wrong in your attitude towards God, but you did not wrong God (because you did not harm God), you wronged yourself (because you chose to be such that it becomes perfection for you to be harmed against your will and against your best interest). This is Perfection.

If you harmed God like a woman is truly harmed when she is raped, that's a different matter. If God Allowed Itself to be wronged, then God is imperfect or evil. If God Allows a woman to be wronged, then God is imperfect or evil. So I ask you again, x rapes y. y is harmed against her will and against her best interest. Did y deserve to be harmed? If no, then God is imperfect and evil. If yes, then y got what y deserved. When you rejected God, you did not harm God against Its Will and against Its best interest. God is always Perfectly Satisfied. What about the woman that x raped? She was truly harmed by x. Did she deserve this?

Why not God stops people associate with Him?

Because God Wants to Punish them. Because it's perfection for evil to suffer. Evil chooses or consents to being evil. The rapist assesses that he is physically superior to the woman, and then rapes her. He acts in a manner that amounts to saying "that which is superior is justified in harming that which is inferior than it". So what will become of the rapist when God deals with him? If the rapist is put in Hell, can anyone other than the rapist be blamed for him being harmed against his will and against his best interest. Sure, the rapist might blame God for his suffering. The rapist would have to reject that it's perfection for him to suffer. He cannot do this rationally.

To omit or negate this perfection (evil suffering), is imperfection. It's sadistic to satisfy yourself by harming another, but in the context of God, it's Perfection. It's God's RETRIBUTION.

So.. Will of God is He Himself WANTED that people take another god/s

If God Wanted things to happen differently, God would have made things happen differently. In other words, they could not have willed to set up partners with God without God also Willing it. This is clearly what 8129 and other Quranic verse indicates. More importantly, pure reason clearly dictates this. You cannot dance around this. You cannot avoid this. You cannot pretend 8129 does not exist. You cannot reject that it's perfection for evil to suffer. God could have killed them all before they set up partners. God could have just not created them. Do not forget, it is God who Guides and Misguides. But God only misguides the wicked.

226 God does not shy away from citing the example of a mosquito, or anything above it. As for those who acknowledge, they know that it is the truth from their Lord. As for the unappreciative, they say, "What does God want with this example?" He lets many stray by it, and He guides many, but He only lets stray the evildoers.

Nothing you do or will is independently of the Will of God/Existence. This does not mean you do not have free will or that you do not deserve reward/punishment. You choose what God Wants you to choose. You still choose at the end of the day. If God Wills x to choose y, then x literally chooses y. It is not the case that God forced x to choose y. God gave x free-will and knew x would choose y in circumstance z. God brings about circumstance z.

...God is not to change what is in a people until they change what is within themselves. If God wanted to harm a people, then there is no turning Him back, nor will they have any protector against Him. (1311)

I keep repeating and emphasizing but you failed not 99% but 100% to grasp what is WILL of God and WILLINGNESS/WANT of God... Even you didn't understand the two types I presented...

You did not present two types. You said in what case God Wills nothing (God just knows), in another case God Wills something. Which clearly contradicts 8129 and pure reason. Why do you not see this obvious contradiction???

It may be that the woman who was raped becomes a better person as a result. But the fact that she would not willingly become a better person without that kind of ordeal, makes her evil and deserving of being raped.

But you took the clear verse totally opposite thinking that we can't will anything at all whether it happens or not... But truth is We can will independently... That's why God says they plan and We plan and we are best of planners. They plan means they have to will first...

So you are saying they plan ahead of God the All-knowing? The One that knows who will go to Hell and who will go to Heaven in advance? This is problematic.

Say God will before we do anything that we will do tomorrow?

So that we do not wrongly think that we can do anything independently of God. This is good because we recognise that all good is from God. It's also good because we know that everything is in God's Hands. God is Guardian over all things. God is responsible for God/Existence Being Perfect. Not us. So we can peacefully surrender.

Answer directly please. Can you will anything independently of God? Can you will anything wherein which God wants you to will something else? Can you will to be evil, without God also wanting you to will to be evil?

                                    Peace

I don't see how you can avoid concluding that we all ate from the tree

So, the devil caused them to slip from it, and he brought them out from what they were in, and We said "Descend; for you are enemies to one another; and on the earth you will have residence and provisions until the appointed time." Adam then received words from His Lord, so He forgave him; He is the Forgiver, the Merciful. We said, "Descend from it all of you, so when the guidance comes from Me, then whoever follows My guidance, they will have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve." 236-38

Do you think 238 is just talking about 3 beings (Adam, his wife, and Satan)? I do not think this. I think that verse is in reference to all of us.

                                        Peace brother

I responded. Tell me what specific point I didn't respond to. In any case, this isn't primarily about challenging someone. This is about having beliefs that are not contradictory or paradoxical. I do not mean to say this an insulting way, but perhaps you need to learn in this instance. Perhaps it is you who needs guidance regarding this matter and not me. I will respond to your questions point by point, and I will not answer your questions with another question. So please answer my questions directly. This is surely better and probably more indicative of strength in one's position.I see your point, so I will clarify mine.

I REPLIED ALREADY.. If no, then God is imperfect and evil. If yes, then y got what y deserved. When you rejected God, you did not harm God against Its Will and against Its best interest. God is always Perfectly Satisfied. What about the woman that x raped? She was truly harmed by x. Did she deserve this?Because God Wants to Punish them.

It's God's RETRIBUTION.If God Wanted things to happen differently, God would have made things happen differently.

You did not present two types. You said in what case God Wills nothing (God just knows), in another case God Wills something. Which clearly contradicts 8129 and pure reason. Why do you not see this obvious contradiction???
It may be that the woman who was raped becomes a better person as a result. But the fact that she would not willingly become a better person without that kind of ordeal, makes her evil and deserving of being raped.

So you are saying they plan ahead of God the All-knowing? YES.. GOD LET US LIVE WITH FREEWILL TO TEST US, SO WE PLAN WE WILL.. GOD KNOWS OF COURSE..BUT GOD DIDNT PLAN WHAT WE PLAN..THAT'S NOT TEST OR FREEWILL THEN.. The One that knows who will go to Hell and who will go to Heaven in advance? HE KNOWS... THAT DOENT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE... IT IS LIKE GOD QUESTUONED IBLEES WHY WERE YOU NOT AMONG THE SIBMITTED TO ADAM.. GOD KNOWS.. This is problematic. NOTHING IS PROBLEMATIC... GOD KNKWS DOESNT MEAN GOD PLAN.. BJT IN HIS RECORDS... CERTAIN MATTERS GOD INVOLVE DIRECTLY AND CERTAIN GOD DOESN'T.. GOD SPOKE TO MUSA.. IT IS GODS WILL AND NOT MUSA'S...

YES... COZ GOD HAS GIVEN FREEWILL.. Can you will anything wherein which God wants you to will something else? WE CAN ALWAYS WILL.. BUT WHAT WE WILL ALWAYS NOT HAPPEN . IF GOD WANTED SOMETHING ELSE THEN WHAT GOD WILLED HAPPENS(I EXPLAINED ALREADY.. SUCH AS MERCY, HELP, GUIDANCE) Can you will to be evil, YES OF COURSE... without God also wanting you to will to be evil? YES.. CHOOSING EVIL IS CGOICE OF MEN AND JIN.. GOD DOESN'T PLAY A ROLE HERE FOR US TO BE EVIL.. BUT WE ARE WILLING EVIL... GOD PLAYS A ROLE IF GOD WANTS TO SAVE FROM ONES EVIL ACT ANOTHER..

                                        Peace

My question of does God deserve taking another deity with Him is crucial one, but you deviate from your basic concept i.e. one deserve another evil act...

You didn't answer 8127-29... Coz you indicate the verse 8129 separate claiming that No one can will anything... It is not that no one can will anything by that verse.. No one can will straight path though they willed God has to will their guidance... That's the cream and the essence of those three verses combined...
You keep repeating the DESERVE factor but I have already clarified...

god knows everything doesn't mean God interfere in what our dirty heart thinks... It is like we definitely know we die one day.. Don't we... But we live a life just leaving aside the death... Same God knows our destiny where we end up.. Everything every step we take... He knows.. But He let us live and finish the rest. ....thats freewill... He knows doesn't mean action do take place automatically... He knows but He make it happen... For example He I get birth.. He knows is not enough He has to make it real... God promises.. He knows He promised.. That's not enough He has to do... All Knowing is just a one attribute of God.. Don't restrict God with it only

Ok. I'm gonna summarise our discussion and reply to your post at the same time

I said whatever happens, happens because that is what God fully Wants/Wills. I used 8129 to back this up.

You said that I am claiming that no one can will anything. This is not what I am saying. I am saying we can will things, but whatever we will, was what God Willed for us to will in advance. If I choose to eat a cake, I certainly chose to eat the cake, but God Wanted me to choose to eat the cake before I even chose to eat the cake. I am not taking my choosing out of the equation. You mistakenly think that I'm saying nothing is willed by us. No, I am only saying nothing is willed by us independently of the Will of God. Whatever we will, is also Willed by God. This is literally what 8129 is saying.

Think of it this way, God Knows everything that could happen with regards to all free-willed beings. God then chooses the best occurrence and sets things in motion. My choosing to eat a cake on Sunday at 10 pm, was Known in advance by God. God also Knew that if things happened a little differently, I would have chosen something differently on Sunday at 10 pm. God Calculates and Measures everything in advance. Nothing happens independently of God's Knowledge or Will. Do not forget, God Creates and Sets in motion in an Omniscient manner. This literally amounts to saying everything is as God Wants/Wills it to be.

2050 He (Moses) said, "Our Lord is the One who gave everything its creation, then guided."

You say I didn't answer 8128-29. Ask yourself, are you truly sincere to the Truth in this discussion? If yes, then which part of "you cannot will anything is 8129 unclear on? If I will/choose to eat a cake, that's me willing something. Can I will something or anything without God also Willing it? Do you not see that if you reject, you would be contradicting the Quran? What is more important is that you would be contradicting pure reason. How is God Omnipotent or Perfect if something happens independently of Its Will or without God fully Wanting it to happen?

In addition to the above, I am not yet clear on whether you take the Will of God and the Knowledge of God and the Guidance of God to mean the same thing or not. They are clearly different things. Guidance is guidance, knowledge is knowledge, will is will.

Do you not see that if Existence has even an atom's weight of evil in it, then by definition, our Lord/Existence, God, is imperfect? Do you not see that if x rapes y, then this must be because it was perfection for this to happen all things considered. Provided that y suffered against her will and against her best interest, y got punished because y was evil, and x further determines his soul as being evil and perfect for Hell (provided that x acted on evil intent). Two birds, one stone.

665 Say, "He is able to send retribution from above you or from below your feet, or He will make you belong to opposing factions, then He will let you taste the might of each other." See how We cite the signs, perhaps they may comprehend.

Perhaps x chose to join an opposing faction, perhaps x was born into an opposing faction. Whatever it was, God Willed x to belong to an opposing faction. Perhaps x's faction wanted to dominate an opposing faction with evil intent, seeking to kill the opposing faction's children and rape their women and enslave their men. Where the opposing faction is lacking in sincerity to God, this become a hypothetical possibility. Where the opposing faction is sufficiently sincere to God, this become hypothetically impossible. Perhaps x's faction wanted to preach Islam and saw the opposing faction's rulers as raping women and killing children, so x's faction attacks the opposing faction with good intent.

Whatever happens, however it happens (willingly on x's part or unwillingly on x's part) happens because God Wants/Wills it to happen. All of it

...If any good befalls them, they say, "This is from God," and if any bad befalls them, they say, "This is from you!" Say, "All is from God;" what is wrong with these people, they barely understand anything said! (47

Do you agree now that you cannot will anything except if it is also Willed by God?
