First we need to define what is a marriage in accordance with the Quran. How did the pre-Islamic Arabs understand this concept and how did the Quran either verified it or redefinedit.

It is definitely not how the traditionalists believe.

        Salam to all

        How do you understand marriage.

I understand it as a covenant a strong one

421 And how can you take it when you have become intimate with each other, and they have taken from you a solemn covenant.

        Like here 337

And when We took from the prophets their covenant. And from you, and from Noah, and Abraham, and Moses, and Jesus, son of Mary; We took from them a solemn covenant.

But I don't know if misyar is line with quran.

        Comments will be much appreciated.

        God bless all

          Peace centi50.
How do you understand marriage also?
You mean a woman can do this kind of marriage as well as a man? If not then why should men only do it?
Or do you mean men want this kind of marriage to legalise zina?
That is all it is at the end of the day zina!
You really think you find that kind of thing in Qoran?
Look for yourself and find for us if is there.

Are you asking because you want to do this kind of marriage?
          GOD bless you.
          Peace.

How's the covenant taken? Is it a verbal or written contract, or is it both? And does it involve witnesses?

If misyar is done as a regular stipulated contract, even if it has a time limit, it's valid as it's consented to without deception.

Had you asked "If allowed, why? Instead of "if not, why?.... I could have realized your mentality...

Anyway, if one got the guidance from Quran he or she knows it is completely WRONG... BUT as usual don't blindly ask from me to bring verses like those gays and lesbians ask bring verses in Quran indicating it haram.. Bla bla..

Okay fine.. I don't need to explain what Misyar Marriage.. If you google you will find various way it is explained....
Anyway.. Quran gives order for a women to remarry after divorce to wait for three periods.. Meanwhile for a widow to wait for four months etc.. These are typical ways... In ancient Arabia without latest technology to know DNA of a child and allowing a marriage system called Misyar in which man and women obviously involve in bodily pleasure through copulation... And after couple of days they leave on their way ending all bonds. Real shame isn't it?
And if their journey is so long and they find another caravan and they stay couple of days and have a Misyar marriage..
Let's apply divorce rules within Quran... So they married and stayed for three days.. Divorced.. Chapter closed..
Suppose such a woman get pregnant with time somehow.. Who is she in the society then.. Man always will escape.. But women can't.. Who is responsible for the child? For what reason such agony?
Okay let's put this way... A believing group of men married men are travelling a month long journey.. They found attracting women and they did this mistic marriage called Misyar.. No idea.. Whether these women are married or divorced or widow.. Just all verbal promises.. And they marry and indulge in sexual pleasure... They are breaking many Quranic rules.. Since they are travellers they don't know each other.. These women could be liars while they already have their husbands.. They would have had sex on the way with many men.. Some of them may be already pregnant.. Vice versa.. Suppose a believing women travelling.. Does she want to marry in the way with a believing man.. Suppose she is already married leaving her husband at home on a journey.. Is thirsty only for men.. Why can't it be for women?
So Misyar marriage only men oriented.. It seems.. Isn't it..?
So believing men cannot wait a month long journey and in between they need a marriage for sex... Sheer ignorant tribal culture.. Conditions before marriage.. The woman should not be married woman.. No believer can marry a married woman while she has a husband (exception not relevant in journey) ... So in couple of days marriage in a journey how one finds out the women you marry for couple of days is already married or not or pregnant or not?
Which cultured woman wants share her body with a foreign man just couple of days and which cultured man wants to share his body with a woman and call himself believer.. And go home and live with his genuine wife..
              I think I wrote a lot..
To allow this marriage you need to break all Quran rules.. That's so simple.. By this marriage women will only deliver illegitimate children to society.. Then if it is not prostitution, then what else..

I wish no one would ask me bring versea from Quran in black and white making it haram.. O shame on those..

                Salam good logic,

Yes woman can also do it. I find it people go into this marriage with intention of only one thing and that is sex.

Some one asked me this question but I couldn't answer. I told him I don't see it different with muta'a. Then he said everything is like a normal marriage except with fewer rights of the women like financial support.

As u said men want this because they want this to legalize sex.

A friend of mine is the one who asked me that he wants this type of marriage because he cannot afford all the financial rights that comes with normal marriage. He was asking me what I think and I told him it's not permitted and he told me why its not permitted and I didn't have the answer. I don't think there is a family who will accept this. I think most of the women accept this are those who are divorced and living independently from their family and don't want to have unlawful sex.

He is in Saudi Arabia and he tells me many Saudis do this.

                God bless

Well in that case Qoran has nothing to do with this. Why bring Qoran into ti then if you knew?
People do all sorts of things and try to find loopholes and excuses. It is their choice. Let them .
If people followed Qoran they would not follow men s traditions and religions in the first place.

At the end of the day it is up to you how you advise about Qoran.
If it was me I will ask those wanting to know what Qoran says to read/study it themselves.

                  GOD bless you.
                  Peace.

                    Sectarian al-Albaani

That the purpose of marriage is repose as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning) “And among His Signs is this, that He created for you wives from among yourselves, that you may find repose in them, and He has put between you affection and mercy. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who reflect” . But this is not achieved in this kind of marriage. https//islamqa.info/en/answers/82390/misyaar-marriage-definition-and-rulings

He should marry someone who understands his situation and might even agree to contribute financially.
