If the "aamanoo" (past tense) were already believers, then why were they being told to do the following... (Dr.Ghali translation)

    4136
O you who have believed, believe in Allah and His Messenger, and the Book which He has been sending down on His Messenger, and the Book which He sent down earlier. And whoever disbelieves in Allah, and His Angels, and His Books, and His Messengers, and the Last Day, then he has readily erred into far error.

Believe in Allah? Were they atheists or polytheists? The verse goes on and tells them what to believe...So, the "Aamanoo" must have believed in something else, otherwise this verse would be redundant.

And prior to this ayah in 459

O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger, and the ones endowed with the command among you. So in case you contend together about anything, then refer it to Allah and the Messenger, in case you believe in Allah and the Last Day; that is good and fairest in interpretation.

Similar to above, what made them "aamanoo" if they weren't already obeying Allah and obeying the Messenger...?

It seems like they believed in something else. Maybe that's why the "aamanoo" is always in the past tense. They weren't believing in the Quran Islaam yet but had potential.

Research is good brother. Appreciate it. But not convincing. .coz why can't Allah command His believers to believe in Allah and Messenger and books etc...

2153 O you who have believed, seek help through patience and salah. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.

So they are already believers but why more instructions?
So Cant Allah guide believers further with his verses though they are believers already...

So you say muttaqun no need siyam. .ciz they already muttaqun.. That's weird brother.. Suppose you do charity.. So you don't need to do charity anymore coz you already charitable. .

I don't see anything wrong in the verse... Take a look 262 ... So they all believers but different athnicity...
Guidance of Allah brotger quran is... So He can tell to anyone...

Suppose you and me are best friends... And I have faced a serious hardship... And can't you say to me believe in Allah and don't lose hope... Does that mean I don't believe in God.

I think you have complicated unless you convince with all Amanu verses... I don't say you are wrong but it doesn't make sense to make that they can't be told what they were told in 4136...

Note... In case those who believed is reluctant to believe in what was sent before then who should clarify to them if not Allah.. Believing in Allah and Messenger is not the only condition to be a real believer.. He has to believe many more things.. Verse 4136 itself clarifies it. Hope you get it..

        459 also similar brother.

If one obey Allah and obey the Messenger in fact believers.. God knows that...
But when prophet and real believers in power and ruling it means they have a proper governement... Do those in authority are real believers..

So you need to obey the rule.. So if one day I won't obey those in authority do it goes against God's law. .it doesn't mean they are not believers...they are but Gof clarifies and guides... You have to this also... But if they had any doubt of those in authority they can defer that to messenger... So Allah woukd have replied..
But in case still denies and till death denied in those authority then noy believed..
Similarly... If one believe in God and Messenger and disbelive in other Messenger's or differentiate or disbelieve in other books or not believe in Angela or day of judgement then he can't end up as believers.. But basically he believed in Allah and Messenger but he has to complete...

Muminoon already believed that but the aamanoo didn't

Indeed the Muminoon are those who believed in God and His Messenger, and when they are with him for a matter of common interest, they do not leave until they have asked him for permission. Those who ask your permission are those who believe in God and His Messenger. So when they ask your permission to attend to some affair of theirs, give permission to any of them you wish, and ask God’s forgiveness for them. God is Forgiving and Merciful.

in my opinion the verse "O you who have believed," is referring to previous poeple before Islam, ie. it is referring to Christain and Jew who believe/followers of in Esa and Musa.

So the verse is addressing them. Please check all ayats with this verse as starting. I think it is addressing them.

Many translators mistranslated "aamanoo" into English as "believers" and "Muminoon" as believers too spreading misinformation to those who don't know Arabic.

              Hmm that's a possibility, I haven't thought of that

It could be telling the previous to believe in the new messenger and book

You don't get at all brother.. You are cherry picking verses and paste... Pls read all Amanu verses and apply some sense.. That's all I can say... If you bring 2462, I can say the read 231-10

Note in a nutshell Mumeen is an achievement.. So he or she became a Mumeen..
But O you who believed are those who are still trying their best to become Mumeen. .
So bro.. People believed in God and His messenger during the time of Prophet Mohamed... But they needed to practice a lot of things to become Mumeen... After enhancing themselves with that only they become Mumeen... The strength of Iman over a time with following Quran with precision makes a Mumeen... For all these development of soul only God keep reiterating to those who believed to do this and that and avoid this and that... Apply some sense bro..

What is wrong with your logic bro... I don't understand why people rush with verses...

Jews or Chriatians if they are true believers then they ate in fact believed... But Quran doesn't call them as "O you who believed... Pls check A-Z then speak..

Did you read 551 ...? You question is answered there..
Quran is not to rush both of you.. It needs loads of comparison and logic then decide... I think you guys in a hurry... Sorry...

Mumin was when they obeyed all of it and followed their messenger, but the aamanoo didn't reach it yet. Two different groups of people like those given the book and people of the book. Not the same.

So bro.. People believed in God and His messenger during the time of Prophet Mohamed... But they needed to practice a lot of things to become Mumeen... Yes but the aamanoo didn't believe in God etc. yet they were still being called aamanoo

then once they did that they were being addressed to do other things

but they were still called aamanoo even when they didn't believe in the current message that was present.

                    that's the issue.

If you're Muslim and I tell you to follow Islam, it's pointless and unnecessary since you are already following it. Same issue with aamanoo.

None of these people exist today.

What is wrong with your logic bro... I don't understand why people rush with verses...

No... brother... Mumeen has loads of charactetistics... Like mentioned in 2310 or 2462... But for Mumeen or or those starting to practice Quran in life.. Fundamental point is Belief in God... God clarifies the traits of believers in these verses.. Try to grasp...

Yes but the aamanoo didn't believe in God etc. yet they were still being called aamanoo

Wrong assumption brother.. Where in Quran say they didn't believe in God... How can it be called if they don't believe in God as believed... They believed in God for sure.. But life is not just believing in God... You need to live with belief what is instructed by God... It is like You got the Job, but you got to go to duty as described... Unless no point of calling you got the job... Yes you did well to get the job.. Congratulations... But in vain ig you can't accomplish it...

So when you go to duty you will be given duties, do it with patience and report daily.. So at the end of the month you get rewarded..
So They believed in God... But Quran instructs them what to do and what not do... Just coz they claim They believed in Allah and His messenger they won't become Mumeen. .Yes.. Believed it means they surrendered to God... It means they don't believe anything else but in one God.. Not to associate anything.. But prove it in practice there becomes a mere muslim a Mumeen. .

God never calls in Quran O you who Muslims but O you who believed.. Muslim is just basic . Leaving all other faiths and take the faith in One God alone. Thus he enter Aslam.. So He approaches to obey Allah and the Messenger. They are O you believed... Allah never ever call anyone O you who Muslims..

Muslim to Mumeen to Muttaqun yo Siddequn...

Yahud or Nasara or those who just believed anyone can reach these status if they practice. None reaches without already belief in themselces of God...

What is the purpoae of Quran if not to guide the one who believed.. Why can't you use ui our common sense brother. . Come on open your eyes...
