ACCORDING TO THE QURAN , ALCOHOL IS NOT HARAM, IT IS "CONDITIONAL HALAL"

As the followers of the Quran know, only God can determine what is halal (lawful) or haram (forbidden).
16/116*And do not say, as to what your tongues falsely describe "This is lawful, and that is forbidden;" that you seek to invent lies about God. Those who invent lies about God will not succeed.
16/35*And those who were polytheists said "If God had wished, we would not have served a thing other than Him; neither us nor our fathers; nor would we have made unlawful anything other than from Him." And the forbidden/haram food and drink (the blood) are announced explicitly by our Lord in His book
5/3*Forbidden to you is that which is already dead, and the blood, and the meat of pig, and what was dedicated to other than God, and that which has been strangled, and that which has been beaten to death, and that which has fallen from a height, and that which has been gored, and that which the wild animals have eaten from except what you managed to rescue, and what has been slaughtered on altars, and what you divide through arrows of chance. This is vile. Today the rejecters have given up from your system, so do not be concerned by them, but be concerned by Me. Today I have perfected your system for you, and completed My blessings upon you, and I have approved submission as the system for you. So, whoever is forced by severe hunger and not seeking sin, then God is Forgiving, Merciful.
However, interpreters of the Quran hide our Lord's message by distorting the meaning of a verse (5/93), thus they can add other harams to the God's list. There is a passage in surah Al-Ma'idah about "hamr" which is translated as either alcohol, intoxicants or wine. This passage is between the verses 90-93 and the next verse 94 starts a new topic.
5/90*O you who believe, alcohol, and gambling, and altars, and arrows of chance are tainted - by the work of the devil. You shall avoid him so that you may be successful.5/91*The devil only wants to cause strife between you through alcohol and gambling, and to repel you away from remembering God and from the contact prayer. Will you be deterred?
5/92*And obey God and obey the messenger, and be aware. If you turn away then know that it is the duty of Our messenger to deliver clearly.
5/93There is no sin upon those who believe and do good works for what they eat if they are aware and believe and do good works, then they are aware and believe, then they are aware and do good; God loves the good doers.
*The verb "ta'ima" (translated as what they eat above) applies to eating and drinking (taste) in Arabic and the 93rd verse of surah 5 shows that the drinking hamr (alcohol or wine) or eating beef marinated in wine is NOT haram for "believers" as long as they avoid the work of Satan.
To be more specific, (illicit) sex is forbidden, but the exception is lawful sex. Having lawful sex with spouses is halal for believers. Just like sex is "conditional halal" for believers, drinking alcohol is conditional halal for believers as long as they meet the criteria stated in 5/93 and are able to avoid the work of Satan.
Some interpretors distort the true meaning of this verse (5/93) and dare to make some additions to the God's words in brackets. They translate the sentence in past tense (what they have tasted/ they tasted) and claim that the word "taste" refers to a time period before the prohibition of alcohol. However, this is obviously mistranslation because what is haram (shirk) for believers is describing something as haram before the God prohibits it. In other words, mistranslating this verse referring to the past leads to logical fallacy in the Quran.
To summarize, as is stated in 16/67 the alcohol, the substance itself, is good and lawful provision
16/67*And from the fruits of the palm trees and the grapes you make strong drink and a good provision. In that is a sign for a people who comprehend.
16/114*So eat from what God has provided you, that which is good and lawful, and be thankful for the blessing of God, if it is indeed He whom you serve.
16/115*He has only forbidden for you what is already dead, and the blood, and the meat of pig, and what was dedicated to other than God. But whoever is forced to, without seeking disobedience or transgression, then God is Forgiver, Merciful.
What is illicit in "hamr" (alcohol or wine) for believers (2/219) is explained in 5/91 and it is not forbidden as long as one can meet the criteria in 5/93.
7/32*Say "Who has made unlawful the nice things that God has brought forth for His servants and the good provisions?" Say "They are meant for those who believe during this worldly life, and they will be exclusive for them on the Day of Resurrection." It is such that We explain the revelations for those who know.
Because "hamr" is a nice provision in here, the public of paradise will be served hamr in the hereafter. (47/15)

A Qur'an is nto a book of magic, saying the word halal or haram does not make anything into something else it is not.
This question has abundantly been dealt with in the forum. May be whoevers reads this thread should look at others threads where this has been dealt with, thus avoiding repeating things ad nauseam.
As to the poster, it might be a good idea for him to give speeches to the different branches and meetings of Alcholics Anonymous, or rather may be he should go to one of those meetings and listen.
When the Qur'an says that it is the work of Shaytan does anybody really need to be advertised about the un measurable benefits of alcohol?
Does the Qur'an tell us to follow as monkeys the traffic lights red haram and green halal in order to discern between what and why we should AVOID something or not?

The word (khamr) can't mean intoxicant. When you claim khamr is the name for intoxicants two problems occur. Khamr in paradise is in liquid form. (Rivers of khamr) and also it is not gonna intoxicate people. An intoxicator that wont intoxicate is a paradox. But wine that wont intoxicate no matter how much you drink and wont cause headache makes sense.
But this does not really matter. 593 obviously shows that moderate drinking of khamr is not haram.Peace

There is a passage between 90-93 and verse 94 starts a new topic. Read carefully so that you will realize. Taime doesn't mean to eat only, eat+drink (taste). 5/93 is exactly about khamr consumption. Khamr is not a bad thing, it is good provision. SEE 1667. Read the whole surah please. Hamr is a kind of sekeren and it is not bad by itself. What is rics is satan's handiwork, not khamr itself.... And Satan's handiwork is explained in 591.
No, we are not allowed to eat pork unless there is a risk of starvation. It is explained in 53.
Read carefully. Read the surah Nahl completely. Be honest to yourself and you will see the fact inshallah.

5/93 There is no sin upon those who believe and do good works for what they taste (taime) if they are aware and believe and do good works, then they are aware and believe, then they are aware and do good; God loves the good doers.
Eating pork is halal when there is the risk of starvation. Allah does not list conditions such as believing, doing good works and being aware and believing again and doing good works again and again etc. The only condition to eat pork is the risk of dying because of hunger...That's why it is very very obvious that this verse refers to khamr and similar hard drinks.

How can a muslim got drunk in the first place if alcohol is forbidden? AQ 4/43. Besides, in Jannah, Rivers of Khamr is plentiful for those lucky enough to be placed there by The Almighty. AQ 47/15.

All you aware, what God has Forbidden (Harrama) when it comes to what we consume as food (solid plus drink).. So definitely wine or bear or any drink other than blood is not forbidden...
But Allah always loves the believers and He doesn't like to put us in hardship while living.. So He instructs us to avoid certain things in life so that we may succeed...
Think in a practical and logical way... Yes.. God has not forbidden.. Fine.. God has not forbidden poison for example... Why we avoid? We know the outcome.. Okay let me put it this way...
Suppose you drive in a highway written 120 Max speed ..literally allowed... No one can say it is forbidden to drive in that speed.. But it is foggy or misty or slippery or rainy or windy, do you still want to drive in that speed? No.. Coz you know it want BENEFIT you.. Better be wise and drive as slow as possible... Instead of going to your destination you will end up in hospital or die. So we avoid...590 "O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, stone alters , and divining arrows are but defilement(Rijsz) from the work of Satan, so avoid(fa'jthanibu) it that you may be successful.
Now look at the above verse, if Allah found it bad for human completely He would have definitely Forbidden but instead He ask us to AVOID... so that we may be successful so we may remember God a lot without disturbance .. If Allah has forbidden these there won't be test for us on these stuffs.. These are testing elements.. If Allah says avoid and recommends who can be better advisor than God. If Allah Forbidden it would become a huge sin on the part of human and we are violating.. Buy Allah says to avoid coz He loves us to listen to him to become successful...
God doesn't need to Forbid everything and put us in trouble.. But God says eat what is good.. Yes.. So believers decide what is good for you which won't keep us away from the remembrance of God or which won't keep us away from our success.Read all AVOID verses So that you would understand why God says avoid instead of Forbid... Only for our success...
So avoid if you are believers so that you can succeed in the long run. But had you taken a drink don't feel bothered coz you have not done anything wrong.. But your success and your remembrance of God depending on what you do in life most... Your behaviours reflect how you end up.. If anything is a disturbance for you for your success of hereafter why need keep them as part and parcel of life rather than avoid them...

Yes... Alcohol is not haram... But ensure you don't miss salat every time you take it. Then who is the loser...
God precisely said in 443... He doesn't want such people to near salat. . Why? Have they done anything forbidden? No. But they are literally not in their concious state ..
Suppose one took glass of wine and he has not lost his consciousness. He is absolutely fine. He can near salat coz he knows what he utters... But avoid so that we won't face situations that we don't need to face...But there are lot if drinks which are far below in strength to get intoxicated... Are they really intoxicants... Have it if anyone loves to coz God has not forbidden... But ensure your practice of consumption of alcohol doesn't keep you away from remembrance of God thus your success is far from reality.. So nearing something it has bad effect is always enticing from Satan so that his job is easier...
But for sure not forbidden... But your success depends on your decision and what you daily... God is not a bad advisor to say is to avoid it... Don't neglect it. . -

733 is obviously not talking about food (liquid plus solid)... For food Allah had clear cut instructions... No addition.. No deletion... No one can infuse anything other than what God had commanded..
Do eat what is good for you... If you feel the meet of frog is good eat, if you don't like leave it... But God's command on food is final...Fahisha is not food my brother.. Wine use it in cakes or delicacies.. Absolutely fine.. Also drink... But intoxicants are tricky here.. Allah won't forbid anything after saying little benefit on it.. But everyone is not intelligent to take that little benefit in right way.. For example.. Yes you can gamble.. But once you addicted and when you lose you want get benefit but great loss.. No only money but mentally physically a person would become weak. So avoid..
When it is intoxicant stage it is causing problem.. Not it is forbidden.For example.. Suppose grapes used to prepare wine over a period of time.. Neither the grapes nor its instant juice forbidden.. But when chemical reaction do take place it becomes intoxicant as we all know.. Heavy consumption of it makes anyone intoxicated... This is what God ask to avoid.. Avoid get intoxicated.. Avoid intoxication with self.. But wine is a Rizk and a good provision.. God himself says . People may translate it to sugar syrup but same word..

Never use a Haram on food especially while Allah has not made Haram.. We have no authority..
To elaborate further.. For example even grapes, orange or apples etc which are basically used for wine naturally contains Ethanol which is one of the key ingredients of alcohol drinks.. Just coz ethanol in those fruits can we forbid them.. But when ethanol % increase in body it gets intoxicated...For example.. Marijuana or hashish or any kind of drug that can cause intoxication or whatever the state they are going through but God has not forbidden literally. Buy why takr what is bad for body in excess... After all these drugs are just natural plants... That's why God's says eat what is good (Thaib) .. If Allah to forbid everything on earth Quran itself a forbkdden list of book...

It is as simple as this Technically you may have a point but if any one who is passionate about LISTEN to what God says then HE is telling you to "shun/refrain" from the "great evil" . Now this may not be HARAM but it is also not HALAL to disobey the God.

God has forbidden four categories of food and you forbid more in literal statements... Do you think God is short of verses to forbid what you forbid... Where is your common sense brother...Don't forget word wine and intoxicants are different.. Read verses of intoxicants and wine... Different way of writing..
In Yousuf story ladies used and other are wine.. But God says to avoid is intoxicants .... If the wine is made to intoxicate then it is intoxicants.. But Quran is clear it onlyvsaid avoid intoxicants not wine...Further .izm is not Sin brother... Different topic but connected to the verses...
